I grabbed this blindly for $20 and what a pleasant surprise; the scent is brilliant. It’s citrusy without being cloying, warm and agreeable for almost everyone. Highly recommended for the price. Good quality, doesn’t smell like alcohol or cheap like a Zara product. A great dupe of Bulgari’s Tygar at a fraction of the cost. Should I buy blindly? An emphatic yes.
I bought it blind for its price (20 dollars) and what a good smell it is; I was impressed by how good it feels. Citrusy but not cloying, well warm and tasty for most. Totally recommended for 20 dollars. Good quality, doesn’t feel alcoholic or low quality like a Zara. A good dupe of Bulgari’s Tygar at a fraction of the price. Blind buy? A resounding yes.
It’s a well-constructed citrus fragrance only at the beginning. Afterwards, it loses strength and purpose. Fixation and projection are very poor. Disappointing.
Recommendation: let it mature, fragrance lover.
It’s a well-constructed citrus fragrance only in the opening. Afterwards, it loses strength and purpose. Fixation and projection are abysmal. Disappointing.
Sceptre Bronzite by Maison Alhambra cost me 15 dollars and smells like it’s worth 150. It’s a simple scent, but delicious, fresh and clean. Ideal for everyday wear, without complications. Does it resemble Tygar? I don’t know, nor do I care. What I do know is that it smells incredible, projects well, and has already secured a place among my favourite citrus scents. Do you like citrus perfumes? Buy blind, you won’t regret it.
It arrived a few days ago (I’d already heard of it in-store) and I want to clarify something I’ve seen in comments: Arabic fragrances need to MACERATE (time + air in the bottle) to show their potential. People are impatient and think if it doesn’t last 9 hours when first opened, it’s a scam, and it’s not. I’m saying this from experience; it’s happened to me with all my Arabic perfumes; Maison Alhambra has stepped up its game regarding fixation, longevity and scent quality… and it has to be acknowledged. That said, the scent: it’s a citrus grapefruit with sweet notes that is somewhat overshadowed (in a good way) by a realistic, spicy and delicious ginger, which transforms the fragrance into an energiser for daily life. I’m telling you for real, smelling this makes me feel happy and energetic… that citrus-sweet-spicy combination is addictive and goes very well for the office or short outings. I wouldn’t wear it for a party as I have other preferences, but for formal daytime occasions it’s highly recommended. Does it have the Tygar DNA? Yes, just like the Turathi Blue, it’s quite similar; I’d say 90%, with the Tygar being more elaborate and of higher quality; I’ll also tell you, what more could you ask for from a fragrance for around £30? It fulfils its function perfectly. Any problems with longevity? As I said, patience. I use it fully to let air in and macerate it; in two weeks I’ll let it rest for 3 months and I know the magic will happen there (it’s already happened with others from MA). Projection is very good, noticeable but not heavy or overwhelming, a positive point. People perceive you and leave a trail, but it’s pleasant and wearable, obviously it’s for spring-summer and heat. In general: Scent 8.5/10. Similarity to Bulgari’s Tygar: 8/10. Projection: 8/10. Longevity: RIGHT NOW, freshly opened, 6/10. Would I buy again? Among all the fresh scents I have, it’s a scent that delivers and serves me for the office. I’m happy, so I’m likely to repurchase.
Sceptre Bronzite by Maison Alhambra arrived a couple of days ago (I already smelled it in store) and I want to clarify something: Arabic fragrances need to MATURE (time + air) to show their potential. Yes, like Turathi Blue, it’s 90% similar, with Tygar being more elaborate and of higher quality. What more could you ask for for around 30 euros? It does its job. Any longevity issues? Patience. I’m wearing it heavily to let air in and mature it; in about two weeks I’ll let it rest for three months and the magic will happen. It projects very well, noticeable but not heavy or suffocating. People perceive you, leaving a pleasant and manageable trail. Designed for spring-summer and heat. Overall: Scent 8.5/10. Similarity to Tygar: 8/10. Projection: 8/10. Longevity: currently 6/10. Would I buy again? Within my fresh category, it delivers and serves me for the office. I’m happy, so yes, I would repurchase.

I don’t know the Tygar or Turathi Blue, so I’ll only speak about what this fragrance does for me. The aroma is simple, basically a scent with little evolution. The opening is fresh and citrusy, very sparkling and effervescent, as if smelling an orange or tangerine soda. Then that spark fades and the citrus becomes slightly bitter and mildly sweet. To me, it seems very masculine and, for some reason, I don’t feel it’s youthful but rather mature, for someone 30+ without being for older people. I see it as versatile and easy to wear. It projects well and the longevity is decent: 6 hours with a personal bubble projection and the first hour a bit wider. It feels clean and neat without falling into soapy territory, has good presence and doesn’t feel cheap. Scent: 7.5/10 (it’s rich and I like it, but it doesn’t drive me crazy). Performance: 8/10 (if it’s a fresh citrus, those who find it doesn’t last long, let it macerate). Presentation: 10/10 (the atomiser on these Sceptre bottles is fantastic, pressurised). Versatility: 8/10 (works for almost any weather except winter). Should I buy blindly? Absolutely; if you don’t love it, at least you won’t dislike it.
I don’t know Tygar or Turathi Blue, so I’m speaking only of what it produces in me. The aroma is simple, without much development. The opening is fresh, citrusy, sparkling and fizzy, like an orange soda. Then the fizz settles and it remains bitter citrus with a slight sweetness. It seems very masculine and mature, for 30+, not youthful nor for the elderly. It’s versatile, easy to wear and please. It projects well and lasts decently, around six hours with personal bubble. It feels clean and neat, soapy-free, with good presence and without seeming cheap. Scent: 7.5/10. Performance: 8/10, let it mature if you like citrus. Presentation: 10/10, the pressurised atomiser is fantastic. Versatility: 8/10, for almost everything except winter. Blind buy? Absolutely; if you don’t love it, at least you won’t dislike it.
The packaging, the bottle and the atomiser: impeccable. The perfume is wonderfully simple and simply marvellous. Citrusy elegance sustained by amber and presumably ambroxan. I’ve had it for ten days. On paper it lasted five. Today I used it for the first time, knowing I have anosmia to amber. At work, I heard from the office next door: what a lovely perfume. I said nothing and the same girl told the others: can you smell it? The corridor smells like a man… Aside from the anecdote, it’s true, you start smelling like a man. Will it keep macerating?
I bought it last week, so this is before it has fully matured. I owned Turathi and would rate Sceptre Bronzite as a ‘Turathi Lite’. It has all the DNA but less potency; it’s not that it’s weak, just that it projects a little less. After two hours, they perform equally. I bought it at Elite Perfumes for 14,990 Chilean pesos, around 15 dollars. At that price, it’s a gift from heaven.
The packaging, bottle, and atomiser are impeccable. The fragrance is simply wonderful, elegant and citrusy, with a touch of amber and ambroxan. I’ve had it for ten days. On blotting paper it lasted five hours. Today I wore it knowing I have anosmia to amber. At work, people from the office next door asked what a lovely smell that was. The girl beside me said the corridor smelled like a man. Aside from that anecdote, yes, it does smell like a man. Will it continue to mature?
Grabbed it blind and, truth be told, it’s neither here nor there. It’s a simple, citrusy, clean scent. Straight out of the bottle, it smells more of passion fruit, but as it dries down, the grapefruit becomes undeniable. The ambroxan is brief but unobtrusive. The bottle is a marvel, but its real strength is the atomiser; I can’t think of a better one. On my skin, it lasts between one and three hours with a very light trail, only noticeable on contact, though this varies depending on skin pH. It’s a perfume for everyday wear, sweet and clean. Recommended for buying blind.
