Liquid Brun by French Avenue is a woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2024, this composition features an olfactory pyramid that opens with top notes of cinnamon, orange blossom, cardamom and bergamot; develops into a heart of bourbon vanilla and elemi; and settles with a base of praline, ambroxan, guaiac wood and musk.

  • Indifferent, although it seems to perform well; I had higher expectations based on what I’d heard. It smells like little candies with some filling, then after the initial blast, only one note remains. That’s it. Good price, I don’t know the inspiration, but anyone claiming it’s like 9PM is completely mad.

  • Similar to PDM’s Altahir, though the quality isn’t identical. From the first use, people have asked me about the scent; it lasts a long time on skin and clothes with a good trail. It smells edible, almost like a vanilla cupcake, simple yet sweet. If you like sweet scents, it’s for you. I wouldn’t pay more than $40-50 because the hype skyrocketed and it’s not the eighth wonder of the world; better to wait for a reasonable price. Ideal for nights or cool/temperate climates.

  • A perfume whose fame is well-deserved. There are many niche dupes, but few are worth it because ultimately you can tell the difference in quality; this is not the case. I know Thair well, and it’s hard to distinguish them: the performance is excellent, the aroma even better, and all that for a tenth of the original price. Buy it blind, you won’t regret it.

  • EaudeRomero

I tried it and loved it; it’s worth the hype. I can’t say more as I haven’t used it thoroughly, but I’ll definitely buy it in the future. What I can confirm is that it smells like chocolate mixed with vanilla, and I adore that. For me, 9.5/10, need to test the trail and long-term longevity.

  • Maxi&Amadeo

In Argentina it was very expensive due to the hype, but I found it on clearance at a wholesale distributor to clear stock during the summer. It deserves all its hype, very similar to Althair and Art of Nature 2. Art of Nature doesn’t last for me at all, but this one does. I wore it at 5 pm on a chilly summer day (a sacrilege) and it lasted until bedtime. The next day, after running 7km and warming up, it reactivated tremendously. It smells like a bonbon or pumpkin in syrup. I tried it on women without telling them what it was and they loved it, so it’s definitely unisex.

  • Good. I’d say it’s the perfect blend between By the Fireplace and something sweet like Kahmrah. It’s not novel, but undoubtedly I hadn’t felt such an intense blend in other perfumes, nor in Arab fragrances. Well done, French Avenue.

  • Very good perfume, nothing synthetic is noticeable. The only downside is that it stains the skin a bit, so I don’t recommend applying it directly on white clothes.

  • If you’re hesitating to buy it, for me it’s a total yes, but try it first. The day I received it, it didn’t smell like the tester; it had a sharp, unpleasant scent. I let it air out for a few days and it turned into a wonder, just like in the shop. Incredible fragrance, first use and I already got a compliment. Don’t use it in enclosed spaces or use only a few drops; the projection and longevity are brutal. If you like sweet scents, it’s an absolute yes. (Bach September 2025)

  • I’ve never tried Althaïr because I’m not keen on spending money on just one scent, so I can’t compare its inspiration. However, Liquid Brun does remind me of The Most Wanted when it dries, albeit from the opposite angle: while TMW starts with cardamom and then sweetens up, Liquid Brun opens very sweet (for me, excessive) before turning spiced and resinous, until that cardamom emerges and it smells just like the other, much like Stronger With You Intensely. Beyond the fragrance families, it’s in the dry-down, when it stops being cloying, that Liquid Brun reveals its floral and resinous notes and becomes a great perfume. If you can pick it up at a good price, it’s a recommended option, almost exclusively for winter nights. Scent: 8 Projection: 7.5 Longevity: 8

I went in with lots of hype and, truth be told, it didn’t convince me. I preferred Qahwa. I’m not sure if it’s my skin, but I perceive it as a 9PM: woody with cinnamon and a cloying vanilla that smells like chocolate gum.

  • What can I say, it’s a beast. Elegant and sweet, it leans heavily towards Khamrah but isn’t as spicy; it’s more delicate. It’s sweet, perhaps slightly more feminine but perfectly wearable for men. I only detect the cinnamon, vanilla, and praline; the floral notes aren’t noticeable, but they help it not be cloying. It lasts 10 hours without messing up and has a moderate but good trail. The best part is that it doesn’t cause olfactory fatigue; every time you move or someone passes by, you feel it again. Blind buy? If you like the smell of cinnamon and praline without being cloying, go for it.

  • I tried it and sold it. I bought an Althair split before and could compare while wearing them. They are similar, but the quality difference is noticeable: this one is weak compared to the original. Since that one doesn’t exist, there’s no variation in the olfactory journey; it smells the same at the start as at the base. Average longevity and projection.

  • Starts with a floral orange blossom that settles into a soft vanilla-chocolate blend, nothing cloying. Lasts a long time with a perfect trail. It’s sweet but avoids being cheesy or loud, hitting that just-right note which is so welcome.

  • I’m wearing it. I bought it blind because it was on the list of the most popular perfumes of 2026, and let me tell you, I hate that everyone uses the same thing; plus, it’s a good price and smells a lot like Marly. It’s my first Arabic perfume. The presentation is ten out of ten, although the bottle reminds me of a mosque tower and isn’t my favourite. The opening is a neroli blossom with cinnamon, fresh and sparkling, then bergamot emerges. In the base, after three sprays, I notice that each one smells different depending on the pH, so don’t buy it blind if you don’t like warm scents. I detect more Elemi than vanilla, but it gradually becomes more potent; it evolves like By The Fireplace mixed with Montale Arabian Tonka. On me, it’s like a box of luxury Belgian bonbons, on my mother it smells of ambroxan and milk, and on my father the wood stands out more. It has little trail, it’s very intimate, but it lasts more than 8 hours. If you like warm or sweet scents without being excessive, go for it. For the price, I think it could be considered niche.

  • Hello, a quick review given my limited experience with this perfume. There was so much hype that it disappointed me a little. I’m not saying it’s bad; it’s sweet, sexy, youthful, and formal all at once, a rich aroma. But the trail let me down. They paint it as a bomb, and it isn’t. It’s very long-lasting (around 10 hours) but lacks that explosion to fill a room or stand out in a club. It’s not the typical soft citrus style; you’ll be noticed, but it’s not a JPG like Le Male Elixir, Mandarin Sky, or Scandal Absolu. My rating is 8.5/10. If I’ve smelled its inspiration, PDM’s Altahir, the budget option beats the expensive one: it has better projection and longevity.

  • I don’t detect the floral notes until several hours later. Everything is hidden by an intense incense and smoky wood scent that hits my nose from the start.

  • It’s terrible. Smells of super-strong alcohol on first spray, very artificial and low quality. Don’t bother with the reviews, it’s not worth it even at 25 euros.

  • If you haven’t smelled it, imagine smelling praline literally: soft, warm chocolate, sweet but not cloying. Longevity is good, it is oily. No one tells you that upon application it smells of sharp synthetic plastic or rubber that later transforms into chocolate. I don’t know what it is, but it smells of synthetic grease and then sweet. Over time, only the creamy part remains. For me, it is not a perfume. Smelling of synthetic praline does not suit a man or a woman. It is not like Stronger With You or Scandal, which have wood and personality. This smells only of dessert, not of a fragrance or a person.

  • I don’t know where to begin; it’s my favourite perfume and I have such an attachment to it that this review isn’t objective: it’s an absolute yes. The only downside is that the orange blossom from the tree can be intense for some, but it’s delicious. Lasts until the next day, though it doesn’t project much; you have to apply quite a bit and it stays on your extended arm. The blend is so good it’s impossible to explain, exquisite. 9.8/10.

  • Sweet, with good longevity and projection. Perhaps it’s a bit linear to my taste, but it works wonderfully in cold weather. For the price, an 8.5/10.

  • Thecrisstyle

It took me a while to understand it due to the opening; it seemed strange. Now I understand: it is a very unique, high-quality perfume.

  • Beware of those who denounce it for being different. I had many doubts; the first time was shocking, an aroma I’d never sensed. But upon wearing it, I understood: it is a FANTASTIC PERFUME. I own 40 fragrances, 25 of them Arabic, and Liquid Brun stands above the recent hypebeasts. The quality of ingredients speaks for itself. Beyond the chocolate and praline, its bourbon vanilla is extreme and defines everything. It is not masculine; the guaiac and althier give it a smoky, elegant touch. It is for special occasions, not for everyday wear.

  • Top fragrance, lasts all day and leaves a trail. Unbeatable value for money. You’ll get many compliments, but be careful not to overdo it, especially indoors. In dry-down, with those vanilla notes, is when I really get hooked. Definitely a 9/10.

  • I tried the Art of Nature II and washed my arm; the smell was unbearable. I had prejudice because it was a dupe of Althair, but I tried a decant and loved it. It smells less offensive, it is heavy but makes a presence with three sprays. Highly recommended for price and longevity.

  • Liquid Brun is a fragrance with its own personality: warm, elegant, and enveloping. It offers a spiced gourmand interpretation that catches attention without feeling vulgar and positions itself as an excellent choice if you’re looking for quality scent without paying a fortune for niche fragrances. Ideal for autumn and winter, dates, or moments when you want to make an impression.

  • Liquid Brun is a warm embrace that wraps around the skin like a soft blanket on a cold night. The opening is spicy and luminous, with a spicy yet soft cardamomo that awakens without being intrusive. Then it becomes creamy: silky, sweet vanilla with a resinous nuance that adds depth and balance, far from an obvious gourmand. In dry down, praline and woods create a comforting refuge, like a cabin in the woods. On skin, it is spiced vanilla over a sweet, woody base, with determination and confidence. I bought it without smelling the original (Althair) and knew I didn’t need anything else. It is addictive. This DNA will never be missing from my collection.

  • Photobeparfum

DEFINITELY NOT FOR BLIND BUYING. IT IS NOT FOR ENJOYMENT, ESPECIALLY WHEN COMPARED TO NICHES. IT SMELLS OF BURNING PLASTIC AND YOU ADD MELTED PRALINÉ. WHO WANTS TO WEAR THAT? TERRIBLE IDEA.

  • Bryan Castro Mora

I bought it in December to let it mature. I tried it on nights and it is a perfume bomb, a unique scent I had never felt. Sweet and elegant, not cloying. Perfect for dates or night outs. On my skin, it is a 10/10.

  • Imagine a freshly made brownie with chocolate syrup and a dusting of cinnamon; that is how this perfume smells.

  • Joseph Monterosky

Longevity and projection in the first hours are brutal; literally, it lasted from one day to the next on my skin. I recommend trying it before buying; don’t buy blindly, as it’s not for everyone. It’s sweet but not overpowering; I sense it as raisins. In my case, I’d rate it: Scent: 8, Longevity: 10,000 (out of this world), Projection: 9.5, Price: 9, Quality: 8.5.

  • I don’t understand the hype. I went in with high hopes, but I didn’t feel that real dessert gourmand. There are too many neroli citrus notes in the opening; it smells more like a sweet bathroom air freshener than what was promised. Perhaps it was just my expectations.

  • I rejected it when smelling it from the cap, but months later I sprayed it and it was a different story. It is an exquisite gourmand, it pairs easily with Khamrah and similar scents. It balances power without being cloying, with a touch of caramel chocolate and bourbon vanilla. It is one of the few Arabic fragrances I would buy for cold weather. It never smells of burnt plastic; it is well-finished and lacks nothing.

  • A very sweet and clean perfume, rich vanilla with cinnamon and chocolate notes. I’d say it smells 95% like Marly’s Althair, but at a much more reasonable price, though it doesn’t last as long. If you love Althair but don’t want to splash out, this is your best bet; it’s practically identical. Worth it for sweet lovers, though I find it a bit cloying. The best thing is its value for money: it’s cheap and lasts around 5 to 6 hours.

  • agusteeno13

A beautiful fragrance; if I’m going on a date in the autumn, this is an absolute must.

  • marcelooo

Unfortunately, I didn’t feel or hear what most people say. I sprayed it twice in a perfumery and the first thing I felt was like cigar ash; hours later, I felt the same but with a stored-up smell, like when you keep a garment for a long time. I didn’t like it at all, which is strange, as a work friend wore this and it smelled rich, like creamy vanilla, so I thought it would smell the same. I don’t know if it’s my pH or perhaps the perfume had been on display for too long and the aroma changed radically, but personally, it disappointed me.

  • Rchie_2003

Delicious and masculine (though said to be more unisex); that vanilla and cinnamon with woody touches give it a sweet, warm vibe. Given its characteristics, I’d reserve it for cold weather and special or formal occasions, as it’s a heavy scent with strong projection that doesn’t suit the heat. Its longevity stands out: no need to reapply until 8 hours after putting it on.

  • Liquid Brun is a fragrance with huge hype due to its striking resemblance to PDM’s Althair, another product that’s been heavily marketed. Speaking from my experience and comparing it to Althair: the opening smells of airy, fresh vanilla, like that sensation when opening a freshly baked dessert, warm vanilla accompanied by citrusy bergamot at first, then the clean, fresh touch of orange blossom with a spiced note of cardamom and caramelised praline. In the dry-down, it quickly settles into that pastry vanilla with praline and orange blossom, which balances the sweetness and provides a clean base. That is Liquid Brun, uncomplicated, a gourmand scent from head to toe that’s easily noticeable in the first two hours; it leaves a heavy trail that fills spaces. Whenever I’ve heard it on someone, it was in enclosed spaces, which is a shame because it ends up filling the room and becoming a bit overwhelming. Now for Althair: here there’s no citrus opening; it goes straight to the sweetness. The only difference I notice is that the PDM version has more evolution; after hours, the resinous elemi becomes more noticeable and adds a slight smoky touch, which I prefer. Still, I wouldn’t buy either of them; they’re too sweet, too gourmand for my taste, and I don’t feel comfortable with either. Finally, I must say this Liquid Brun is very well done; the differences are small nuances in the final dry-down that you won’t notice unless you smell them side by side trying to spot the distinctions, and the price difference is abyssal. It’s a fragrance with brutal value for money, but it’s not for me, nor is Althair.

  • Super addictive scent, perfectly balancing sweetness with floral notes. It lasts incredibly long, although not many people seem to pick it up on my skin.

  • At first, it smelled like burnt plastic, but after letting it mature for two weeks, trying it again… wow, wow, and wow again; an exquisite aroma of cinnamon, vanilla, and cardamom. For the price, it’s excellent.
