Descripción

Vulcan Sable by French Avenue is an aromatic fragrance from the aromatic family, designed for men and women. This creation, launched in 2025, is presented as a novelty in the brand's catalogue. In its opening, the top notes unfold a vibrant combination of whisky, orange, coriander and mandarin. The heart of the composition reveals a warm and woody elegance thanks to tonka bean, cashmere, styrax and anise. To finish, the base notes offer an enveloping and persistent sequence with vanilla, benzoin and patchouli.

  • The scent of Vulcan Sable is basically what I would imagine opening a bottle of chocolate liquor and smelling the first pour as it falls into the glass. 🍫🥃 At first, it has a slightly lighter point, as if the alcohol is noticeable briefly, but it quickly darkens and becomes more chocolatey, like a pure chocolate bar freshly broken. That transition from boozy to sweet is very well executed. As for longevity, it lasts quite a bit thanks to its intensity, which, while not cloying, does leave a constant and very comforting presence. If you are into dark chocolate with an adult touch, this could be a top pick.

  • The opening is extremely boozy. As it dries down, it leaves a good smell with some vanilla noticeable, but I haven’t liked it. To get that scent, you’ve had to spend an hour smelling of whisky.

  • IvanPerfumista

The opening is dominated by an exquisite liquor; as it dries down, it becomes more generic and smells like a thousand chocolatey-vanilla perfumes we already know. For winter days or nights. But do I like it? Definitely YES.

This perfume has become one of my favourites, an exquisite scent where the whiskey and citrus notes are very noticeable. As it dries down, it gives me a sweet, earthy, and talcum-like sensation; on my skin, without exaggeration, it has lasted over 15 hours, and throughout that time, I never stop getting bursts of projection. It’s not scandalous but always perceptible. Very good, I give it an 8.5/10; I love the Vulcan line.

Value for money 9.5/10, an absolute steal for that blend at such a low cost (around £30). Longevity 10/10, beastly performance; it survives showers and lasts all day on clothes. Versatility 4/10, strictly for cold weather and night. In heat, it can smell rancid or vomity. Originality 8/10, though many perceive it as a mix of known DNA (vanilla, liquor, spices). Overall appreciation 7.5/10, it generates plenty of compliments, but its opening can put off sensitive noses. 👍 The best: its dry-down is velvety, boozy, and chocolatey, projecting luxury for a fraction of niche prices. 👎 The worst: the synthetic whisky opening is so strong that some report nausea before it settles. If you survive the first 20 minutes of ‘medicinal alcohol and rubber’, you’re left with one of the best winter scents. Not a safe blind buy due to its opening.
