  • Tested yesterday at El Corte Inglés. It reminds me very much of the current ‘Sauvage’, not the one from its launch (that direct hit to the jaw with pepper…). It is very pleasant and wearable. An all-rounder. It goes halfway between a classic fragrance and current fashion. It is made to please everyone, with the risk that in the end, no one will like it. Other aspects unrelated to the fragrance are the fact of ‘vainly pronouncing the name of your flagship’, that is, using the name of your most famous perfume for scents that have nothing to do with it (it already happened with ‘Cool Water Intense’) and the tendency to imitate or try to resemble others… As for performance, the truth is very good: it lasted all day on the back of my hand, even after washing the dishes.

Indecent copy of Sauvage, and on top of that, made by a legendary house full of milestones. Shameful.

I tested it on blotting paper and it’s a total hit, very trendy. It smells exactly like Loewe Cobalt to me. I love the citrus opening, but it becomes very sweet as it dries down. I don’t detect the vetiver; the heart seems to be pure ambroxan.

I tested it on blotting paper; it is impossible not to like it, it is a successful and trend-appropriate scent. In my opinion, it is identical to Loewe Cobalt. I loved its citrus opening. Its dry-down is sweet. I cannot perceive the vetiver note; rather than vetiver, its heart seems to be ambroxan.

  • A scent clearly designed for summer or heat. It has very good longevity, nine hours on my skin. The opening is pleasant without being overwhelming, with a touch of pink pepper in a very well-balanced proportion. It reminds me of Sauvage, but to be honest, I like this one more. Excellent value for money. I predict a bright future for it.

  • As I often see on Fragrantica, haters are always against certain bottles. It’s true that Davidoff uses the name Cool Water to exhaustion to launch things that have nothing to do with the original. This Parfum is one of them; it smells very similar to Dior’s Sauvage, it’s very mainstream and packed with ambroxan. Other flankers like Intense or Reborn also have nothing to do with the original, with the latter being a green fougere. However, one must admit that this Parfum lasts and projects massively, something rare nowadays. Plus, it’s much cheaper than the Sauvage, which has already been reformulated and lasts less. In short, this flanker is a pass: it lasts, projects, pleases everyone, and is cheap. What more could you want? Wear it as an alternative to Sauvage; so far, it’s the best clone I’ve tried. Another good option in that style is Antonio Banderas’ Icon, but Cool Water Parfum beats it on longevity.

  • As often happens on Fragrantica, the detractors are once again against certain bottles. It is true that Davidoff uses the name COOL WATER to exhaustion to launch scents that have nothing to do with the original. This Cool Water Parfum is one of them, very similar in style to Dior’s Sauvage, another in the line heavy on ambroxan. Other flankers that bear no relation to the original are CW Intense and the recent CW Reborn, a green fougère. One must admit that this CW Parfum has excellent longevity and trail, at least on my skin. Not little these days. Moreover, it is much cheaper than Dior’s Sauvage, which with its reformulations lasts less and less (we are talking about the EDT). In short, this Cool Water flanker deserves a great passing mark. It lasts, has trail, pleases everyone, and on top of that, it is cheap. What more could one ask for? It should be kept as an alternative to Sauvage; so far, it is the best clone I have tried. Another good scent in that style is Antonio Banderas’ The Icon, but Cool Water Parfum beats it in longevity.

  • Like other Cool Water derivatives, this has nothing to do with the original, yet it smells fantastic and has great projection. It bears a slight resemblance to Sauvage, but once applied, the difference becomes clear.

  • A blend of Dior Sauvage and Dolce Gabbana Light Blue EDT at half the price of those two. Decent performance for about six hours. Good scent and versatile. Best regards. Recommended.

  • I used the classic Cool Water years ago, followed by flankers like Game and Ice Fresh. As many suggest, each of these ‘variations’ retains only the name of the original, as their scents take different paths. The same applies to this Parfum version. Clearly, it is a fragrance made to please by sharing some similarities with Dior Sauvage EDT and, in my opinion, some echoes of Bleu de Chanel EDT. On my skin, it lasts around 6-7 hours, projecting for the first two before showing a fairly linear performance. I recommend it for those seeking a fragrance similar to (but not identical to) Sauvage at a lower cost with good performance.

  • Pleasant, linear, generic, and certainly synthetic. Surprisingly long-lasting with above-average projection, especially considering the price. Compared to Sauvage, I’ve always used the Eau de Parfum and find no resemblance. You will smell good without impacting or annoying anyone. Suitable for informal wear, day/evening use, preferably in dry climates between 20°C and 28°C. With humidity over 70% and temperatures above 30°C, the scent fades.

  • I love this modern fragrance. It reminds me of Sauvage EDT but brighter, less aggressive, and easier to wear. There’s also a faint echo of Bleu de Chanel. On my skin, it lasts 10 to 11 hours (it is Parfum concentration, and you can tell). Projection and trail are moderate to strong, but the wearer gets constant bursts of that delightful aroma saying ‘I’m here’ throughout its life, even in the final hours. I use it in all seasons except extreme heat (it looks great up to 27°C). In my country (Uruguay), this flanker isn’t available; I bought the 100ml in Argentina for US$80 and I’m very happy with the purchase.

  • A lemon attempting a Sauvage-style opening, but it fades quickly veering off into a side I absolutely dislike. It doesn’t smell like Sauvage, BdC, or Dylan Blue. It didn’t last as long as they claim. I didn’t like it. 3/10

  • A lemon attempting a Sauvage twist, but it fades quickly into a scent I absolutely dislike. Neither Sauvage, nor BdC, nor Dylan Blue. It didn’t last as long as claimed. I didn’t like it. 3/10.

A modernised blue version, slightly dense/heavy compared to the legendary, top-selling and classic Davidoff Cool Water EDT. Without its characteristic aquatic, mega-fresh calone note, this Parfum becomes somewhat more suitable for autumn-winter seasons. Naturally, it’s more mature, more nocturnal and formally elegant than the EDT. Any similarities with Dior Sauvage EDT and Luna Rossa Carbon? A little, though not really. This Davidoff CW Parfum has a creamy vetiver and sandalwood note that makes it distinct. They don’t list the ambroxan note but I believe it carries it. I don’t detect any kinship with Versace Dylan Blue or Bleu de Chanel, truth be told. Quite good longevity: 7 hours without dropping. Moderate sillage. For its price-to-quality ratio, it’s superb, 25-30 euros for a 100ml bottle, a price that breaks the bank, I recommend it 100%, even if you already have the classic or other flankers from the house or similar fragrances.

A modernised blue version, slightly denser than the legendary and classic Cool Water EDT. Without that aquatic freshness of calone, this Parfum is better suited for autumn and winter. Naturally, it is more mature, nocturnal and elegant than the EDT. Does it resemble Sauvage or Luna Rossa Carbon? A little, but not really. This Davidoff has a creamy vetiver note, and when you warm it up, it becomes unique. They don’t state it contains ambroxan, but I believe it does. It has no relation to Dylan Blue or Bleu de Chanel. Longevity is good, around seven hours without dropping. The sillage is moderate. For the quality-price ratio, it’s a beast, at around 25-30 euros for a 100ml bottle, a price to cry tears of joy over. I recommend it 100%, even if you already have the classic or other flankers or similar fragrances.

Warm springs and pure summer. Fresh, clean, a spotless gentleman. In my opinion, for over 30 years old. Beautiful for informal or formal occasions, work, sport and dates too. Recommended. A classic that never dies. That clean scent, that unmistakable fuller aroma of classic perfumes. In short, a beautiful blue fragrance that always leaves you looking sharp. Always fulfilled. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Projection: 8/10, Price-to-quality ratio: 9/10.

  • A super masculine fragrance for those over 25-30 years old (I’m 22 and I love it). Perfect for a spring dinner. It smells clean and seductive. It’s a bit heavier than the original Cool Water. If you over-spray on a hot summer day, it could give you a headache. It’s a fresh and aromatic fragrance with a very citrusy opening where the lime is clearly noticeable. As it dries down, the woodier and spicier notes emerge. For the price, it’s worth having in your collection. If you like Dior Sauvage, you’ll also like this one.

  • You simply can’t ignore Dior’s Sauvage EDT in this review. 1. The opening is identical to the original Eau de Toilette, nothing like the Parfum, EDP, Élixir or other variants which take a different path. 2. As it dries down on the skin, that refreshing mentholated touch appears, reminiscent of Chanel Bleu. 3. The longevity and sillage are brutal; they flood the room and leave a scent trail wherever you walk. 4. It’s not a new fragrance, it’s an DNA seen a thousand times but which never fails and is loved by everyone. 5. I find it redundant to own both Cool Water Parfum and Sauvage EDT. 6. The price-to-quality ratio of Cool Water is fairly fair. 7. Ideal for informal and casual use, versatile in all climates (except extreme heat), suitable for those over 28. It serves for everyday wear, although it can become a bit boring. PS: I’m surprised its rating is so low (3.9/5.0).
