Descripción

Adventure by Davidoff is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2008, this composition was created by perfumer Antoine Lie. Its top notes of mandarin, pepper, lemon, bergamot, tea leaves, and yerba mate deliver a vibrant and fresh opening. The heart reveals Jamaican pepper and sesame, adding depth and character. Finally, the base notes of vetiver, cedar, and white musk close the structure with woody elegance and lasting power.

  • Put a third of oyamel resin in a bucket over low heat, then a third of lemon and mandarin peels, and finally a third of tea leaves with three very hot peppers. Mix until boiling and inhale the vapours. The result is a beautiful, sharp citrus resin, like polished cedar furniture with lemon, proper for the great tropical haciendas of the Dominican Republic and Cuba in the 18th and 19th centuries, where lemon was replaced by the 3-in-1. Undoubtedly, Davidoff burned its eyelashes with the name; personally, it’s lovely and deserved a more elegant one. It’s not for dining with the Prince of Timbuktu or for Indiana Jones, but a better name would give dimension to its singularity. Suitable for relaxed, classy environments, like jazz concerts or wine with friends. Works day and night in warm weather, making you look very distinguished among the spring and summer aquatic and blue scents. If I wished for anything, it would be not having to overapply to achieve a performance just below 4 hours; lamentable to have to stay close to the skin in this aromatic beauty that reminds me of the brutally exceptional Burberrys for Men from 1981. In short… this citrus resin deserves a chance. Pros: Cheap. Cons: Low performance. Note: Davidoff Adventure is linear.

  • Mix one-third of oyamel resin with citrus peels and tea leaves, then add hot chillies; as it boils, the resin absorbs everything and releases a sharp citrus scent, like polished cedar with lemon, typical of 18th-century Dominican and Cuban haciendas. Davidoff singed its eyelashes with the name ‘Adventure’ – in my opinion, it’s a beautiful fragrance that deserved something more elegant; it’s not for dinners with princes or Indiana Jones, but perfect for jazz concerts or wine with friends. It works day and night in warm climates, standing out among spring and summer aquatics. My only gripe is that it lasts less than four hours and needs reapplication, which is lamentable for a beauty that reminds me of the exceptional Burberrys for Men from 1981. In short, it deserves a try. Pros: Cheap. Cons: Poor performance. Note: Linear.

At first, the citrus notes are creamy, without acidity or heat, with a soft touch of pepper; I didn’t detect the tea, but I did sense some sesame. By four hours, the bell pepper, soft cedar and musk emerge. By seven hours, that cedar and musk finish remains (I didn’t get the vetiver). It’s a soft, woody, spicy fragrance that falls short of its adventurous name and promise. I find it ideal for intermediate seasons, daytime and informal wear. With the full sample (around 1.3 ml), the trail is medium-low and the longevity exceeds 10 hours, though it’s barely noticeable up close.

At first, I sensed creamy citrus notes, nothing acidic or sharp, along with soft pepper. I didn’t detect the tea, but I thought I felt sesame. After four hours, I sensed bell pepper, soft cedar, and musk. After seven, the typical cedar and musk finish (I didn’t quite notice the vetiver). It’s a soft woody and spicy fragrance that falls short of its name and proposed experience; it seems suitable for intermediate seasons, for daytime and informal use. Using the entire sample, about 1.3 ml, the trail was medium-low and the longevity over 10 hours, but sitting close to the skin.

  • It’s pleasant but barely perceptible. The mandarin dominates, but it smells of zest; it reminds me of a cake or pastry. It’s not a bad fragrance, but it lacks personality. It’s suitable for daily wear as a battle cologne because it’s not intrusive, but it leaves no mark.

  • I really liked it as it dried down; it has a small, yet recognisable similarity to Terre d’Hermès.

  • I liked it in the dry-down; it has a small but recognisable similarity to Terre d’Hermès, in my opinion.

My favourite autumn fragrance. It’s aimed at a very masculine, adventurous man with a rural character. I wear it daily in autumn; it’s unobtrusive and doesn’t overshadow the perfume of the woman you’re with; she loves the scent of a strong, masculine man. Imagine a man in leather boots and a flannel shirt.

My favourite autumn fragrance. It’s aimed at a very masculine, adventurous man with a rural character. In autumn, I wear it daily without it being intrusive or overshadowing the woman’s perfume beside me; that woman loves the strong masculine scent radiating from the man next to her, where his character is more intense than his fragrance. Imagine it: a man in leather boots and a flannel shirt.

This was the perfume that introduced me to this madness; it belonged to my uncle who is no longer with us, and he always smelled of a refined, elegant man. I insisted so much on my taste that he gifted me a bottle with a third of its contents; I wore it daily at high school for a semester. I forgot its name 12 years ago, but upon getting it back, the nostalgia is immense, and I still think it’s an excellent scent. The opening is citrusy for about 10 minutes, but then comes its true charm, making it one of my favourites.

Sincerely, this was the perfume that started my addiction. It belonged to an uncle who is no longer with us; I remember I loved it because it smelled of a refined, elegant man. At his insistence, he gifted me a bottle with a third of its contents, and I used it daily for a whole semester in high school. I forgot its name about 12 years ago, but when I got it back, a huge nostalgia washed over me. I still think it’s an excellent scent: the opening is citrusy for about 10 minutes, but then comes its true charm. One of my favourites.

Magnificent, unknown, balanced, masculine, and special; the ideal fragrance for daily autumn wear.

  • Weak aroma, very soft and lacking personality. The composition promises much but the result falls short. I bought it because it was cheap, but honestly, an Axe deodorant has more longevity and projection than ‘ADVENTURE’. Based on the name, I imagined something exotic and potent, representing forests and deserts, but it turns out to be a personal adventure around your garden.

  • JoseGHerrera

Magnificent fragrance! I picked it up in 2008 on a trip to Argentina, alongside Terre d’Hermès. Adventure for the day and Hermès for the night; both spectacular. It’s fresh, dynamic, and full of compliments for daytime wear. Pity it didn’t reach everyone; in other countries, they only brought the other Davidoff scents, like Cool Water. But in itself, it reflects an adventurous man. If you’re used to heavy perfumes with ultra-long trails, like the Arabic ones, this isn’t for you. Rich and fresh for the day, Adventure is…

At 14, I stumbled across a sample of Adventure in a magazine. Initially, I thought it would be a clean, boring scent, like lime with synthetic musk for a disco, but I was wrong. It hit me with that strong pepper and dry spices, yet not dead ones; it was an alert aridity, like a sandstorm lash or earth blurring into the air. I’m convinced there was cumin, though my memory plays tricks sometimes. I’d put it on my wrist occasionally to smell it, and I believe it was my first real olfactory experience. Three years later, I saw Dune and smelled Davidoff Adventure.
