  I’m not sure whether it’s the laurel, the excessive cardamom, or the many citrus notes (I think it’s the latter) that put me off, even though it’s quite weak. I experienced this with this one too, but it was even more shocking with Chrome Legend by Azzaro; they’re different, yet there’s something that kills my nose.

  If you want to know what this smells like, I’ll tell you: it’s like sharpening a pencil. It has strong echoes of the discontinued Givenchy jewel Insense (yellow). It’s a tender unisex masculine fragrance that wants to stand out from the crowd and become niche. Nobody talks about it, but if you want to break the mould, give it a try. At family gatherings, where there’s almost always politics, no relative has ever told me how good I smell. Like it or not, with this, you’ll never go unnoticed.

  From that quality range, I bought two for my mother’s friend back in 2013 after trying them. Flamboyant is the best of the three I own, though like Fuse or GGM, it eventually fatigues the nose. It smells of sweet, not too acidic citrus, with a hint of medicine, gin, and that distinctive white adhesive tape scent, plus a vanilla nuance. Ideal for a university girl in the afternoon for formal wear. It doesn’t smell masculine; it’s more unisex. I think it’s a men’s fragrance made to please women, yet lacks the power or charisma to conquer. It feels too boring and cloying for daytime wear.
