  This 2014 flanker is basically the original Cool Water with a greater tendency towards citrus. It has more mint than usual, making it fresher and more sparkling. It feels more modern, moving away from the classic nineties concept and suiting current times better. I am greeted with a pleasant freshness upon spraying; it feels energetic and revitalising (ideal to perk you up in summer). Longevity is acceptable, around six or seven hours depending on sprays; projection is noticeable in the office or outdoors for the first two hours, then it fades but remains perceptible. Conclusion: if you like Cool Water, give it a try; it certainly won’t disappoint.

  It is a much softer version of Cool Water, with subtle citrus added while retaining some notes from the eighties and early nineties. It adapts brilliantly to extreme heat without being intrusive. It works very well at work because it is neat and clean (ideal for small offices), allowing you to reapply throughout the day. Projection and longevity are modest compared to the original, losing that powerful trail of the groundbreaking perfumes of the past. PROS: Accessible price, highly versatile in formal situations, perfect as a soft sport fragrance, ideal for heat. CONS: Poor projection and longevity, it is a limited edition (almost discontinued), you need to reapply if you have long days. My rating: 6/10.

  More citrusy than the original Cool Water; it’s basically the classic with an extra kick of acidic notes. For me, the entire Davidoff line fails on longevity and projection. Scent: 7, Quality: 5, Longevity: 3, Projection: 2, Versatility: 9.
