I feel out of this planet with this review but I HATED IT WITH MY SOUL. I, all excited, bought this perfume due to all the hype, that it smells like a lemon foot, that it is exquisite, that this and that… but no. I opened it, sprayed one atomiser on my wrist and was left in shock. It is the most nauseating smell I have ever heard; I only felt a very strong bitter lemon, licorice, floor-cleaning lavender and very in the background a vanilla. Cinnamon and caramel??? I don’t feel them at all. The projection is enormous, I admit it. One single spray is enough. But I had to go wash my arms because the smell is so strong it gives a headache and in me, nausea. Despite washing, the smell didn’t go away completely. I am very sad, I had so much hope with this perfume and it was totally a disaster. I don’t understand the hype it has…

  • Gourmand Bottle

But what a lovely perfume this is. It’s the first gourmand I own and it opened the need to know more. An opening of orange with vanilla, it smells like a baked and vanilla-post, exquisite to my nose. A super edible aroma, not everyone likes to smell so much like ‘food’, so I recommend trying it first.

  • tamagotchi

I fell into the TikTok hype where they recommended this perfume for smelling like a lemon poncy and being a diva. The truth is it smells good, you can feel that scent in the base, but it doesn’t enchant me; as the hours pass it becomes less sweet, I would prefer it to be much sweeter. I detect notes of lemon, talc, bergamot and musk, but I don’t feel they are well balanced. I don’t understand the hype. I wouldn’t pay the full price, what a pity.

I bought a decant to try it without risking anything, as there are no testers here and the price is high to buy blind. I must say the aroma is delicious; it doesn’t resemble any I’ve smelled before. Unfortunately, I never met the L from Lolita Lempicka as they have been discontinued, but the longevity is pitiful on my skin (2 hours at best), which stopped me from buying the full size. Fortunately, I found an inspiration from this brand by Parlour Perfumes that is identical, and as it is an extract it has beastly fixation of over 12 hours on skin. I will continue buying the alternative as it is much more economical and long-lasting than the original.

  • A rich fragrance, it smells like a lemon tart as they say, but when it dries down on my skin it smells of tobacco and becomes masculine. I don’t dislike it, but having tried the new Devotion and Sweet Pastry, I think those suit me better.

  • The first time I smelled it, it didn’t quite convince me; I liked it but not enough. After several months, I tried it again and on my skin it fascinated me. Indeed, it smells like a lemon tart; it is gourmand but in me the citrus note of bergamot (which I adore) predominates, exactly what I wanted since my gourmand phase is long past. When it dries down it becomes creamier and softer, a wonder. In the end, I bought the 30ml bottle.

  • What a delight. Citrus caramel with spices, super sweet and 100% edible, yet with a light air like a fluffy sponge cake, not a heavy tart. A beautiful and addictive scent, a gourmand from head to toe, perfect for autumn and winter. 100% unisex, though I think it suits girls more. On my skin it lasts over 8 hours, with strong projection and sillage for the first two hours before becoming moderate. Perhaps due to the price it could be better, but it’s not bad either. I’m not sure if it resembles the L from Lolita Lempicka as I’ve never tried it, but I think Devotion could substitute it if you’re looking for something similar for much less. I’d love to have it in my collection.

As the years go by, it remains my favourite fragrance. I would buy it a thousand times without a doubt.

  • Lemon caramel, this perfume is that, an orange and lemon caramel. To my nose, it’s very similar to Lolita Lempika’s Lolitaland, only that one has peach and is a bit sweeter. If you have one you’ll like the other and if you have one I don’t think you’ll need both.

  • This is delicious. It’s like walking into a confectionery in winter. The opening notes are exquisite.

  • Buah, beautiful, a delicate and elegant gourmand. Sweet in just the right measure, it combines caramel with something fresh. I don’t feel the ‘lemon cookie’ as much, it’s not a usual lemon. Similar to Devotoon, but finer and perhaps without the panettone sweetness. The only thing I don’t like is its price.

  • sweetlikenana

Finally I have this perfume, undoubtedly my favourite. It opens citrusy and quickly turns into a butter and lemon cookie or a fluffy sponge cake, nothing cloying. It’s perfect for autumn and winter and isn’t too heavy for the heat (although I haven’t tried it in heat yet). It lasts 5-6 hours, good performance, and every time I smell it I feel happy and wrapped. The price has hurt, it’s not cheap, but I would buy it again, I always want to have it in the collection.

  • I couldn’t be happier with this perfume in my collection. Some time ago I tried Devotion and it disappointed me for being simple and short-lasting. I looked for similar ones and found Lira. I read it didn’t last long and was scared, as perfumes usually don’t last long on my skin. I bought the 30ml and I’m in love. It’s sweet and delicate, lasted about 8/9 hours, and I felt it potent for the first 4. It smells like lemon shortbread dough with butter, vanilla, and caramel. When the 30ml is finished, I will undoubtedly buy the 100ml. I love it.

  • mamerinored

A vanilla where there isn’t one. Now, for the exorbitant price it has, it would be its thing if it lasted more than 30 minutes… What a pity because it smells incredible.

  • Brenda95gg

I like it very much, but more for winter. It’s a bit like the L from Lolita, but it has its own Xerjoff/Casa Morati DNA. To me, in its final dry-down (around 6 hours), it resembles Mancera’s Black Vanilla in its dry-down. Before, they don’t resemble anything, but in the end, that potent, powdery, half-musky vanilla emerges that is addictive and clings to the skin.

  • At first, it smells like a bug spray, like Raid, lasts ten minutes, and then changes. It becomes creamy and settles like the scent of a lemon tart, not direct citrus. It stays like that until it disappears, without lasting many hours, very soft. I didn’t like it at first, but what a surprise; with more use, I discover nuances I love, I think we’ll get along well. When dry, it smells very similar to Kayali’s Vanilla 28, minus the spicy pepper note that the latter has.

  • MINERVparfums

The more I read, the more convinced I am that genres are breaking down in taste. I adore Lira and would buy it a million times over. It opens as a sweet citrus with a hint of lavender, but within minutes, the cinnamon does magic. That licorice is submerged in vanilla and caramel, a delight for the senses. Once dry, the musk balances everything and makes it special; it’s usable in any season. Just be aware, every skin will conjugate it differently. It lasted 8 hours on my skin with moderate projection and a wide sillage, and a couple more hours close to the skin.

  • I’m thinking of buying it this Christmas. It represents Christmas for me: Christmas sweets, frosted citrus fruits, butter cookies, and vanilla sweets. It’s not just any perfume; it’s magical, even the bottle has a Christmas colour 🎄🎁 EDIT: I’ve already bought it. Phew.

  • vladlena 1994

I was eager to try it due to the huge hype, but it has disappointed me. I perceive it as a unisex vanilla with a tobacco dry down. I didn’t like it. My favourite remains Italica; that one is truly a wonder from this house.

  • It’s my favourite perfume today; I don’t know how to describe it without doing it justice. It’s like a lemon-orange pound cake with lots of vanilla, but it always has a touch of perfume; it’s not just edible. It seems similar to Lolitaland but more refined. It lasts forever and projects wildly.

  • Oh, what a lovely perfume. Very citrusy at first, quickly moves to the heart, and I love closing my eyes because the notes are differentiated and balanced. Egyptian jasmine, cinnamon, and licorice. All present, with a smoky touch that makes them slightly darker without clumping. It becomes soft and the caramel stands out. Beautiful for autumn, winter, and evening. Nice sillage and projection without being overwhelming. If you like warm and enveloping scents, give it a try. Curious: on my wrist, I notice more caramel, and behind my ears, the vanilla. I have a decant and it will be for my collection. If you like Casamorati, Lira will seduce you. A fine sweet, like its name, an instrument with a sumptuous melody. For dancing.

  • I was given a sample and it was both a yes and a no. I took my time before deciding to add it to my collection. It smells like freshly baked lemon cake; it’s gourmand. I’ve had it for a year but don’t wear it out, although I fell in love with it and sometimes spray it at home to enjoy alone. The girl who gave it to me said it was similar to Devotion, but when I tested both on my arms, it’s deceptive at first, yet they are different things. I enjoyed both; I threw away the D&G one because I ended up hating it and thought it would make me hate Lira, but after returning from holidays and trying Lira again, I thought they were nothing alike. Edit: Every time I wear it, I get a sweet craving; I say jolly good, how lovely it smells, then I remember it’s perfume. It doesn’t make me laugh to smell like lemon cake; it’s not my favourite and never will be.

  • It had been on my list for a while, and after testing a decant, I decided to buy the bottle. What a beauty. Citrus opening with lavender. Once dried, the cinnamon and licorice are noticeable. The base, which appears quickly, has spectacular vanilla and caramel that give it that gourmand touch. It’s not a beast; it stays on the skin for hours with daily bursts, but with little sillage. I also own Bake, which is completely different: Bake is more informal and sweet. It’s not redundant to have both. A 10 and totally unisex.

  • It is identical to Dolce & Gabbana’s Devotion. Soft and long-lasting, with lemon, musky vanilla, and woody notes. Very good longevity.

  • It resembles Devotion, but initially it’s bitter before the sweet lemon emerges. In my opinion, it lacks much intensity; for the price, I expected more sillage. I prefer Devotion as it is more musky, sweet, and gourmand.

  • meilee2004

I love it, but the longevity is very short :(. I thought it was my skin, so I shared some decants and everyone had the same experience: an incredible fragrance that disappears in nothing.

  • darinelle333

Starts with a citrus note that smells like Mercadona window cleaner, but once it dries, it gains a depth I didn’t expect.

  • Alessdamo

I might be mad, but it smells more like perfumes such as Musc Ravageur than Devotion. On my skin, it has a longevity of about 7-8 hours with notable projection for the first hour and a half, which is perfect for this type of intimate vanilla fragrance. The final aroma is a vanilla subtly nuanced with cinnamon, licorice, and caramel, and a sandalwood/musk combo that gives it body and density in the dry down. The opening, obviously, is loaded with citrus where orange predominates.

  • lauraaaaherrera

For me, it’s totally worth the price; it seems beautiful from the start all the way through to dry down. The downside is that it’s very volatile. I’m clear that this is the one I’ll wear on my wedding day.

  • Reminds me of my beloved L from Lolita Lempicka. Lira is gorgeous. A citrus cookie with cinnamon, sweet, soft, huggable. A perfect perfume for autumn and winter.

  • What a beautiful scent, it’s the glaze on a citrus pudding that, as it dries, smells like pure candy, a delicious vanilla. I truly can’t imagine my collection without this piece; it’s a lovely and seductive yet unobtrusive fragrance for women.

  • Lemon cake turned into perfume, citrus notes with vanilla and caramel undertones. From the start, the citrus is wrapped in vanilla and a dense caramel; as it dries down, the acidity recedes slightly and gains depth, becoming sweeter. It evokes Christmas, some festive sweets. It leans quite feminine; I like the scent but don’t quite see myself wearing it. In this line of sweet citrus perfumes, I’d definitely stick with Ani X.

  • Woman in Love

Lira is a delight, so simple. A proper gourmand. It smells like a lemon tart with vanilla made by a good cook: everything in its place, perfectly balanced. To me, it has an air of Devotion by Dolce & Gabbana; in fact, I notice them quite similar. The longevity and trail are above average.

  • It reminds me of Capri in a Bottle Lemon Sugar by Kayali, a lemon with plenty of sugar, quite palatable. There’s a faint, distant resemblance to L by Lolita Lempicka; I bought it because people said they were similar, but to my nose, they have nothing in common.

  • Estefania Cruz

Every time I wear it, I’m reminded of the fruit in the Roscón de Reyes cake. It’s a delight; I receive compliments and leave a trail wherever I go.
