I rarely push the boat out with perfumes that are neither here nor there, and with Amouage, it’s the same. High quality, amber, resins, an incense touch, something sweet… wait. Oh, it smells like Coca-Cola. That’s the end. I’m signing off, I’m jubilant. Next. There’s no remedy. When amber gets sweetened, it needs a certain baseline so you don’t run for the hills. Here, I’m not running, but I’m grimacing. Plus, it’s ultra-niche, allowing few concessions in versatility. So, Amouage, no match here. I go crazy for others, but here, it’s a negative. See you later.

It’s a spectacle. One of my favourites this year. A total discovery.

Jubilation 40 is denser and resinous than the original, yet it retains that captivating, distinctive, and imposing DNA that made it famous—the scent you imagine a millionaire wearing. Personally, I don’t think it’s better or worse; it works as an alternative if the original fails on performance, and of course, if you can afford the steep price of this extrait format. Jubilation XXV is one of my favourite scents on this entire ‘perfumil’ journey, and I believe this version deserves at least a try. I love it; the fruity, oriental, slightly herbal sensation, with its mystique and depth. Undoubtedly a type of scent that makes you imagine. Rating: 10/10. Tested from an Amouage Discovery Set delivered by Scentxplore 2023.

What a rich perfume, by God. I’ve been testing this beauty for four days and I’m absolutely smitten. The opening has a herbal note that lasts about 20 minutes, making it different from Jubilation XXV, but as it dries down, it’s much closer to XXV, and in this case, it’s far more resinous than the original.
