Descripción
Night by Perry Ellis is a chypre fragrance for men. Launched in 2010, this composition features the freshness of blood orange and grapefruit in its top notes. The heart reveals a harmony between yuzu, Virginia cedar, and geranium, while the base settles on a warm foundation of oakmoss, musk, woody notes, and amber.

If you like citrus, this is ideal. Personally I didn’t like it because I thought it would be more complex. Regardless of preferences, it fades very quickly. Preferably for hot days, more sporty style than for going out, perhaps in the office, but it doesn’t have the mystical effect I like so much.
If your thing is citrus scents this perfume is ideal. Personally I didn’t like it because I thought the aroma would be more complex regardless of personal preferences. It’s a fragrance that fades very quickly preferably for warm days more sporty style than for going out perhaps for the office but it lacks the mystical effect I so much enjoy.
Indeed it’s very linear, pleasant and fresh citrus aroma, but you go unnoticed; it fulfils its purpose without more. Longevity on me barely exceeds 4 hours, trail moderate to soft, then skin-level. Price-Quality ratio: good, doesn’t exceed 40 dollars for 100 ml. Recommendations: better in late afternoon, but also during the day. Ideal for daily wear, work, casual meeting or shopping. For perfuming only at home or after a shower to relax, it’s suitable if you don’t prefer something of greater value.
I bought it at the Perry Ellis store for 18 dollars for 100 ml. Very good citrus aroma, grapefruit is the protagonist with cedar and musk, good feeling. I don’t find resemblance with the 212 Men or Polo Sport as the section says. Despite being called ‘Night’, I consider it for day use, except for a hot night in spring-summer that’s not formal, as it gets lost against strong fragrances in pubs or clubs. A detail: longevity and trail very low, around 3-4 hours, trail weak 2 hours, skin-level until the fourth. Like with the Aqua, I finished the bottle quickly by over-applying. Never again.
I’ve been using this fragrance for a good while now and indeed it is good. Despite its name suggesting it’s for the evening it’s easily worn during the day. It’s citrusy and doesn’t resemble 212; I don’t think it’s similar to any other I’ve tried but it’s still very good. It lasts about 6-8 hours and is well-perceptible at a certain distance fulfilling the compliments. Regarding its price-to-quality ratio I’d give it an 8.5.
I’ve been using it for a while and indeed it’s good, despite the name not being for night; it’s easy to use during the day. It’s citrusy and doesn’t resemble the 212, I think I don’t give it resemblance to anything tested, but it’s very good. It lasts 6-8 hours, noticeable at a distance and delivers. For its price-quality I give it an 8.5.
Good afternoon, first of all, my experience coincides with many: if you apply it only on clothes, it’s very similar to the 212 CH with a citrus opening. But if you put it on skin, the evolution is totally different; it doesn’t resemble anything, smells like grapefruit and rich orange, but then goes another way. Many don’t understand that on clothes it doesn’t evolve and only the opening remains. Sometimes people don’t smell it because the pituitary gets blocked; if in doubt, ask if the aroma reaches them. For me, on skin and clothes, I get similar notes to the 212, but when I smell my arm it doesn’t resemble it much. The scent is very rich.
Good afternoon. First and foremost I’d like to share my experience and I believe we’ll agree on this: if you apply it solely to clothing the opening is super citrusy reminiscent of 212. However if you wear it on your skin the evolution is entirely different; it bears no resemblance at all. You’ll catch the rich grapefruit and orange notes at first but then it takes a different path. Many people fail to realise that the scent differs on fabric versus skin; sometimes on clothes it just stays as the opening and never develops so it’s better to apply it where you prefer to enjoy it all day. There are also those who can’t smell it after an hour because their olfactory palate has recognised the scent and become desensitised; if you’re in doubt please ask without hesitation whether the aroma reaches you to avoid falling into negative comments. I applied it to both my skin and clothes and although I sometimes notice similarities to 212 when I smell my arm it doesn’t resemble it yet the fragrance is very rich.
DO NOT BUY before reading. 20-dollar perfume; if you pay more you feel ripped off. Decent bottle that fits in a drawer and, with luck, doesn’t come out of there. Citrus opening and low longevity. Definitely masculine, like a deodorant but more expensive. No one will say it’s their signature scent. It’s so bad I offer it at 10 dollars and still can’t sell it.
DO NOT BUY before reading this. A twenty-dollar perfume; if you pay more you’ll feel cheated. Decent bottle that fits easily in a drawer from where hopefully it won’t come out. Citrus opening and low longevity. Definitely masculine like a deodorant but more expensive. No one will ever say this is their signature scent. Never. It’s so bad that I’m offering it for ten dollars and still can’t sell it.
As I say, I’m not demanding, just looking for value for money. It bears little resemblance to the 212 CH, I have it and it’s similar but not much. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours, you have to reapply, but as it’s called ‘Night’, it’s ideal for weddings, parties or night dates if it’s going to last. You have to know how to use it. Ratings: Longevity 8, Scent 9 (a bit mature), Price 10, Projection and packaging 10. Would I recommend it? Yes, if it’s cheap and saves you in a pinch. If you have money to spend more, go for something better.
With this fragrance I learned what maceration or letting a perfume rest is all about. I bought it and even after bathing in it I couldn’t smell the scent. After a year in the box I can finally detect its aroma and it’s very savoury. It’s citrusy with a touch of wood. The irony is that it would be perfect for the day if only it didn’t last anything; the scent evaporates and leaves nothing behind in the heat. And for the evening I’d rather use something else before a citrus scent. I use it to sleep; it’s a delicious aroma before drifting off to sleep.
With this fragrance I learned what maceration is. I bought it and didn’t smell it even after bathing in it. After a year in the box, it smells delicious: citrus with wood. The irony is that it would be perfect for day if it weren’t for the fact that it evaporates everything with the heat. At night, better something else; I use it to sleep, a savoury scent before drifting off.
Hated this perfume, but today it was my luck: at a perfumerie they offered something similar to 212 but cheaper. Without much hope, they sprayed PE Night on me… ¡uff! I don’t understand the hate; this is the original 212 before the reformulations. I remember from childhood that fresh, spicy, green essence from the 2000s. With the recent 212 CH bottles, nothing, it wasn’t the same. But this Perry Ellis DOES have the soul of the old 212. After 3 hours it’s still on my hand, something the recent 212 CH couldn’t even manage. For 350 MXN (~19 dollars), it’s a brilliant purchase.
There’s so much hate for this perfume! Today I went to a perfumerie hoping to find something similar to 212 but more affordable and they offered me this. Honestly I had few hopes but they sprayed this PE Night on my hand and ouch! I don’t understand the reason for the negative comments; to put it bluntly this is 212 before all those possible reformulations. I perfectly recall that fresh spicy green essence of 212 from the early 2000s from a relative… Now as an adult I’ve bought recent batches of the original and simply it wasn’t the same no matter how hard I tried to make my nose work. To my fortune this Perry Ellis SÍ retains the soul of what 212 once was in its beginning. As I write this three hours have passed and the scent is still on my hand. But then again even the recent batches of 212 CH didn’t last as long. So for 350 Mexican pesos (~19 dollars) that the Night cost me it’s a great purchase.
