Descripción
Burberry Touch for Men is a woody musky floral fragrance for men. Launched in 2000, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Jean-Pierre Bethouart. In its opening, the top notes unfold violet leaves, absinthe, and mandarin; the heart reveals white pepper, cedar, and nutmeg; while the base settles on white musk, tonka bean, and vetiver.

It’s a perfume that, thanks to the blend of nutmeg, mandarin and flowers, can come across as subtly sweet. I associate it with an afternoon in summer anywhere or on any occasion, it’s very good. My husband likes it.
The most urban fragrance I’ve tried. As a small-town dweller, it reminded me of all the fantasies I had as a child about life in big cities: wide avenues, glowing streetlamps and metro stations. It brings to mind formal, busy men whose biological clock coincides with the next conference. They recommended it as a fresh and floral option. As a lover of floral essences, I expected a lot and I must say it didn’t disappoint me, but it didn’t turn my world upside down either. I think the white pepper was the cause it wasn’t my absolute conquest, perhaps if it accentuated the tonka bean (which I adore), but well… it’s not a tragedy either. Another thing that catches my attention is that the best men’s fragrances usually have average trail and longevity and this is no exception. It can present itself as a quick and versatile option, in the end I like it.
One of the few fresh perfumes that really lasts and projects. Excellent for spring and summer. Without a doubt it’s the opening that catches you. A delicious aroma of flowers and citrus.
What to say: I don’t like it. I bought it for the violet note (I love it), but here it feels very light. I didn’t like it at all, it’s too feminine and seems made for someone over 65. I thought it would be something sensual, light, of violets and wood, but it turns out to be extremely intrusive. A pity for my blind purchase.
There was a time when without realising it I bought anything that had violet in it, it seems. Haha… I used this Touch many summers and always saw it as an intense and long-lasting version of some childish or classic cologne. Fresh but potent. The keyword is soft. Today I wore it and I noticed it was totally masculine, despite smelling almost entirely feminine on blotter or in the bottle xD. It has a powdery point, but with plenty of body, great trail and huge longevity. In me the violet isn’t very noticeable, it’s eaten up by the cedar and that original musk that conveys quality. I still like this style. 7.5/10.
Powdery, soft, elegant, not intrusive, very unisex. The cedar makes it smell like pencil shavings when you sharpen them. I think it works just as well for spring as for autumn.
I bought it blind (like almost everything I do these days), yes, I like to take risks, but I always look for a minimum review here with the large number of experts you are. I have to say I quite like it, especially that powdery touch that lasts quite a while on my skin. It’s a fragrance with many interpretations; it suits me for both an informal meeting with friends and a business one. Daily use can give a certain fatigue, but I like to rediscover it after a while without wearing it. Recommended.
I’ve never tried Burberry perfumes before and this one has pleasantly surprised me. Delicious, without a doubt. It lasts much longer than others that are quite more expensive. It holds up perfectly all day on the skin and clothes, even until the next day without any issues.
I must admit I had high expectations. I bought it blind thanks to the good reviews; the truth is I imagined a powdery scent with a marked violet note and a sweeter touch. What I perceive is a shy fragrance with a background of wet towels. Perhaps I idealised it, I don’t know, I expected more of a touch like Fahrenheit that would stir the soul. It’s good for daily wear if you work in a climate-controlled environment and don’t want to draw too much attention, just smelling clean. Scent: 6. Longevity: 8 (8 hours). Projection: 7 (confident). Price: 8.
I’ve always said it all depends on the pH. It suits some, not so much others, and for many it’s a complete miss. Anyway, I bought it at a good price thanks to the positive reviews and it was a good purchase. The first day gave me some mixed feelings. I just want to emphasise that this EDT needs the perfect setting; it’s delicate and if not worn at the right moment, its potential to be both sensual and fresh goes unnoticed. I discovered it without thinking and here’s my review to do justice to such a well-balanced fragrance. Between freshness and elegance, with the bonus of lasting power. Give it a chance! The setting and temperature are key for this jewel to really shine, try it yourselves, you’ll be surprised. Many compliments, girls love it.
Touch will likely be, alongside the Baby Touch version, the only perfume I like from this house. In the late nineties, spiced waters of violets, grapefruits, woods, and musk became fashionable. That scent of a diplomat in a suit, a Gucci watch, and Prada slip-ons. Touch is an allegory for that posh style; after work, drinking vodka in a perpetually cloudy New York. It smells of skyscrapers, glass, silverware, and polished steel. It also smells of storms and electricity, a mix of city and countryside, cool blue tones and country relaxation, a running washing machine, and dark earth on asphalt. I think it’s one of the best from that family to have aged; it evokes something that no longer exists and holds up without smelling of mothballs. Ozonic musk, electric violets, metallic flowers, and a delightful dry-down reminiscent of a Manley wax with sparks of waxy musk. Spiced, powdery, woody, violet, and musky, with a cold light tone. It’s not a masterpiece, simply it smells very well. PS: It could be a Bvlgari from that era; it has all the brand’s style book.
The opening, weak as it is, is nothing special. You can sense the violet and a bit of mandarin, but after half an hour, a spicy musk dominates with a cloying sweet base. It smells like a cheap department store fragrance. Performance is a 3 out of 10. I believe the fair price for 100ml should be between 50 cents and a euro.
I owned it before and recently bought it again. Pleasant, clean, and fresh. Its powdery notes make it mature, but the woody elements make it attractive. It’s a fragrance that many overlook due to its simple, modest bottle, yet ladies adore it. Longevity is 8 hours without issue, trail is normal and very wearable. Very versatile.
I’ll just say it’s a true marvel, an underrated gem. It has a scent that stands apart from current trends without feeling outdated; it’s fresh, elegant, seductive, and appeals to those who perceive it, generating compliments. The best part is that it’s uncommon and very affordable. I have a batch from 2012 that gives me 3-4 hours of projection and over 8 on the skin. I hope new reformulations maintain that quality. Best regards.
What a wonderful fragrance; the opening is delightfully charming. Fresh, clean, slightly spicy with a sweet tonka bean note that smells more of coumarin and white musk. It reminds me of Prada Luna Rosa Black for that semi-sweet, sophisticated sense of cleanliness. The projection is strong initially, then softens, yet the scent remains addictive. Perfect for formal meetings, the office, or romantic dates. If you enjoy fragrances like Givenchy Gentleman Only or YSL Libre, even Prada, this won’t disappoint you, especially regarding skin longevity: I was surprised, it lasts an incredible 12 hours.
A very pleasant aroma, undoubtedly one of my favourites. It smells elegant, masculine, and sexy; the girls love it. It has excellent fixation and longevity; I’m on my second bottle and would happily buy a third without hesitation.
A shy, soft fragrance. The opening is hypnotic, promising more than it delivers in projection and sillage. It has a lovely scent (I wouldn’t say ‘charming’); it resembles a cold, milky, slightly sweet chai tea, staying close to the skin as if it weren’t there at all. It’s pretty, but causes olfactory fatigue and has little projection, so it’s easy to stop smelling it. Longevity: around 5 hours, more or less depending on the weather. Minimalist, living up to its name: it’s a touch for the skin, like the wearer’s own natural aroma. Ideal for daily wear in temperate climates and relaxed situations. Given the price, it’s a safe blind buy, although it’s becoming harder to find; I assume they will discontinue it soon.
TOUCH FOR MEN is a hit. It feels like a second skin, highlighted by violet leaves and a subtle spicy kick from white pepper. As it dries down, there’s musk and cedar. It’s charming, neat, and sophisticated. One of Burberry’s best. Discreet, neutral, yet individualistic; it’s unlikely to offend anyone. It reminds me of a rainy afternoon in the city in spring. Ultimately, a true English creation. Performance is below average: 5-6 hours with low projection. Suitable for the office and enclosed spaces, with informal or semi-formal attire. Excellent value for money. It garners compliments. EDITED 13/11/2021: I’ve worn Touch on rainy, fresh afternoons and adored it. Walking alone, it accompanies me discreetly and transparently. Sometimes we just need that.
Let’s say Touch is not a conventional perfume, nor does it seem like one. If someone approaches you, they won’t say ‘that smells nice’, but rather ‘you smell good’. I don’t underestimate this; it has class, style, and is elegant for a gentleman, although it suits women too. It smells like expensive cream but not exactly; it gives a sense of cleanliness without being soapy. Another way to put it: freshly laundered and ironed clothes in an elegant wooden wardrobe. If you’re looking for something scandalous for flirting or a party, this isn’t it. It’s for the office, formal or informal dates, and enclosed spaces. I recommend it for daytime; it’s not refreshing like ADG or CK One. It smells like clean powder with a sober musk; the musk is noticeable, which is why it works for intimate dates. Also suitable for evening, though you need to apply more. Longevity: 7–9 hours. Projection: 1.7 metres for the first two hours, then less than a metre until the seventh hour, then skin scent. Note: you need to be a ‘Gentleman’ to wear it, otherwise it won’t work. In two words: ‘Too much class’.
Another blind purchase failure. It smells like TELETUBES. I was looking for something soapy and high-end for men, in the style of Prada but cheaper. I can’t distinguish any notes. The opening is pleasant, a familiar scent I can’t identify. What I do know is that it smells like when you go to a drugstore to buy bulk sweets and serve yourself. After ten minutes, a woody cedar note emerges; that’s fine. But then, during the dry-down, something powdery and rancid appears. Imagine a baby’s clothes that have just vomited milk on, with that stain fermenting under the autumn sun. I would define the dry-down as MILKY. If perfumes from John Lewis have this vibe, I don’t know what to think. I can’t imagine James Bond or Austin Power wearing Burberry Touch (though perhaps Brit for Him might work). Performance: excellent projection. Longevity: TOO LONG, over ten hours; it’s a pest. If you want to wake up your child’s teacher or the mothers, this is your perfume.
I’ve been using it since 2009 and it’s curious that it still brings many compliments. It’s a clean, fresh, timeless and youthful fragrance that isn’t as saturated in my city, so I’ll keep using it.
Nightmare for fragrance lovers: a reformulation that lowers quality. The original from my university days had character; it was clean, refreshing and made you feel like a London academic gentleman, earning compliments. It had a fresh opening with violets, spicy pepper and talc-like musk; then a herbal trail with green notes, woody touches like pencil shavings and a sweet citrus finish. This new version (Batch 2019) is very alcohol-heavy, with few violets and little spice, losing the cedar and vetiver phase to become a generic floral water. If you’re looking for the original, try H. Zegna Uomo or Moschino Uomo. I recommend it as a gift or swap while you search for the lost formula.
I bought it blind because it was half price and came with an extra 50ml. It’s a clean scent, like freshly laundered clothes or a baby product, with a discreet lasting power of about six hours, though when you move around, it can be felt up to eight. Simply pleasant and nothing too commercial.
Burberry Touch seems perfect for rainy days, when it blends with the smell of wet earth.
Ideal for the office: stands out for its fresh pepper with woods and a herbal-aquatic finish at the end. Smells neat and formal, though that pepper makes it a bit classic; be careful not to overapply or it will sting the nose. Goes well with casual or suit wear, denoting seriousness and presence without being flashy. Lasts about six hours with good initial projection. Outside department stores, it’s worth it for under 1,000 MXN. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind, but it’s great as a gift for dads or grandparents. I’d put it in my top 10 for warm climates. Rating: 7.2
I bought it blind to gift it. I wouldn’t recommend it: neutral scent with no nuances and very weak projection.
I’ve had this for years; my wife gifted me 30ml and I took it on a trip. I liked it but didn’t appreciate it until I started collecting. Now I see that Burberry Touch is one of the best in its category (woody musky floral). It smells good and lasts long (about eight hours for me). I just grabbed 100ml for summer office wear. A safe buy, try it blind. Versatile for the office, school, or formal and informal outings. Lesson learned: opinions are always divided, the best thing is to try it.
Ideal for winter, woody and fresh with a hint of vanilla. Use it in moderation; if you overdo it, it becomes tiring. Lasts about six hours on my skin with a moderate trail.
I picked it up for around $35, and at that price, it’s a hit for hot days, at uni or work. Perfect for everyday wear: it doesn’t stand out, but it smells clean.
Violet, green and fresh with floral notes. Ideal for the office, it gives a sense of cleanliness.
The first time I smelled this fragrance was 20 years ago, in secondary school, it was my father’s. Back then I knew nothing about perfumery, but I already noticed it was an exquisite scent that radiated cleanliness and freshness. I’ve had it for a couple of years, although not with my father, and that’s why it will be part of my permanent collection, because it brings me very good memories. Beyond the sentimentality, I recommend this fragrance, it’s a 10/10.
Although I don’t love it, I do like it, but I use it more in autumn and winter. Perhaps it’s madness, but on rainy days it has shone especially. It’s quite manly and serious, perfect for the office, but I don’t see it going beyond that. It doesn’t stand out too much and I feel it’s too sweet. From this house, I prefer Burberry Brit for Men, which has a powdery and clean touch that well deserves a place in your collection.
I’m sure that, like songs, scents transport you to certain chapters of life, and this lotion is one of them. Currently, I have several gems of superior fragrances above TOUCH on my list, but I couldn’t resist buying it too soon. What am I going to do? I’m a slave to nostalgia.
June 2024. After resisting, I tried it on a tester. The first spray immediately reminded me of Mercedes Benz, sharing four notes: violet, pepper and woody woods. It differs in two things that make it better for me: the musk that gives it a soapy and clean touch from start to finish, and the ozonic notes that add freshness. The rest has been said: for work, it’s an extreme success. I think after Prada L’Homme, this is the one I would recommend second.
A fulfilling blue fragrance and a fairly safe blind buy. It’s cheap, around $20 on some pages, and offers a lot. It smells fresh, clean, with a masculine touch from the base woods. Perfect for the office or school, though be careful: it’s not that youthful. It has good longevity for an EDT, around 6-7 hours on skin, with light to moderate projection of 1-2 hours. It might earn you some compliments for its safe and familiar scent. Compliments 6/10, Price 10/10, Longevity 6/10, Projection 6/10, Scent 7/10.
It was part of a group of fragrances we get at work, and I never paid it much attention. It’s an exceptional blue fragrance with normal longevity, around 5 hours; at the end, it’s an EDT. The scent is unique, nothing ordinary; the violet gives it a distinctive green touch and feels powdery and sweet. It’s for enjoying on fresh or cold days, smells very pleasant. It’s had its time, but it’s worth it for daily use. An easy blind buy.
A total disappointment. I bought it blindly based on good reviews and didn’t like it at all. I let it dry for 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and even up to 3 hours, but it still didn’t impress me. It smells like ‘clean old man’, not an elegant gentleman, but that nice, chatty type who goes unnoticed. It reminded me of a private clinic. Price 9/10, Longevity 7.5/10, Sillage 5/10, Scent 6/10.
Burberry Touch for Men smells clean with a touch of musk and white woods, perfect for going out and smelling good without annoying anyone. Its profile is white, bright and musky, so it won’t offend anyone. In fact, I’ve received a few compliments. I recommend it for mild days and for everyone. Longevity is moderate, around 6-7 hours, with 2-3 hours of projection. For the price, it’s a great option to keep in your wardrobe or as a gift. I use it daily when going to the market or on quiet days at home. Longevity 3/5, Projection 3/5, Compliments 2.5/5.
Although it came out years ago, it remains a good option for the office, especially on rainy days. Its profile is very pleasant and functional.
Bought it as a second fragrance; while I like it, it’s not my favourite. The projection is almost non-existent, so if you’re looking to turn heads or get compliments, forget it. However, if you want a clean, slightly sweet and woody scent to stay close to your skin, it’s perfect. It conveys intimacy and trust, ideal for both formal and casual occasions. I love it, but when it runs out, I’ll repurchase it only if there are no better options available that perform better. It has a certain intimate aura charm, so I recommend it for that purpose. Scent 7.5/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Projection 6.5/10, Value 7/10, Compliments 0/10 (never received any).
