Hero Eau de Parfum

Descripción
Burberry Hero Eau de Parfum is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2022, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Aurélien Guichard. The top notes reveal the freshness of pine needles and the smoky aroma of frankincense. The heart of the fragrance is sustained by the warmth of benzoin and incense, while the base notes leave a trail of noble wood with Atlas cedar, Himalayan cedar, and Virginia cedar.

Rubbish. Lots of advertising for a mediocre perfume that smells like Invictus clones. Pine? If you want pine, go for Polo Green, not this rubbish.
Rubbish. Lots of hype for a mediocre perfume that smells like Invictus clones. Pine? Polo Green already covers that, not this revolting rubbish.
Smells rich, sweet but not over the top, with a green touch that gives it strength. The projection is good, although the price seems high for what it offers. It’s ideal for temperate days and casual afternoons. I’d use it instead of something more ‘gourmand’ like One Million Privé, although this is more versatile than the Hero EDP. I bought the 150ml and still don’t know if I’d buy it again… 7/10.
The Hero EDP is ambered, spiced, and woody. This version has more wood and resin than the original. It starts with a fleeting green touch, then becomes resinous and very ambered, gaining strength with the frankincense. In the first hour and a half, it vaguely recalls Loewe 7 Anónimo, but sweeter. Afterwards, it becomes more spiced and woody; up close it seems to have vanilla and perhaps a nod to the Givenchy Gentleman, but with frankincense instead of iris. It’s perfect for fresh or cold days, autumn and winter, and serves for the office or formal events. It lasted over 8 hours with regular projection. It’s not bad, has interesting phases, but don’t buy it blindly; try it first.
The Hero EDP is an ambered, spiced, and woody fragrance. This new version is heavier on woods and resins than the original. The opening is fleetingly green, but mostly resinous and very ambered; within a few minutes the frankincense rises and gives the scent more ‘muscle’. During the first hour and a half, that mix of amber and frankincense brings me vague memories of Loewe 7 Anónimo, being the Burberry version sweeter. After a few hours, it turns more spiced and woody, with a close impression of vanilla; I even think there might be a nod to the Givenchy Gentleman line, but in the Hero they substitute iris for frankincense (or perhaps it was an olfactory illusion). It’s perfect for fresh or cold days; autumn and winter are its seasons, and it serves for the office, special outings, or outdoors. Longevity was good, around 8 hours with regular projection. It’s not bad, has interesting phases, but I don’t recommend buying it blindly: try it first and draw your own conclusions.
Bloody hell, the opening smells almost identical to Azzaro The Most Wanted, even SWY. I don’t detect it as woody as I thought, and it’s very much in line with what’s distilled nowadays in designer perfumes. It’s for temperate and cold weather. The price is excessive given there are similar, cheaper aromas available.
I agree with Vitinello: the woods aren’t noticeable, but the sweetness is, even it reminds me of Ferragamo Uomo. The skin fixation is very good.
Excellent fragrance! For some reason, after the green opening, on my skin it smells like petrol or leather. Then I do manage to detect the frankincense and woods, which are a delight. I live in a hot city all year round, but when it rains, it’s cool, or I’m in the office, I apply it and it fits perfectly. It suits formal or semi-formal looks. The longevity is very good and it projects well for the first two hours.
I absolutely love Burberry, but I had lost track of their latest releases until I tried the Her line and it was instant love. I also enjoyed the Hero men’s fragrance, so I jumped straight for the EDP version for its woody notes. What a surprise: although they list three types of cedar, what dominates is an intense, vanilla-like benzoin that sweetens everything. The pine needles give a green touch at the start, but the benzoin covers it up. There’s something undeclared, like spiced leather that reminds me of cardamom on sweaty skin, which doesn’t quite convince me. Then it all becomes a dense, ambered, resinous trail, with frankincense and myrrh perceptible as it dries. Overall, it’s pleasant, though not very innovative given similar competitors, and although I’m not enamoured by the spiced part, I know many will like it for its excellent longevity.
BURBERRY HERO IS MASCULINITY IN A BOTTLE. I want to make this short and concise review; there’s not much to say and what little there is is good. It’s a woody fragrance with few notes, all very masculine, especially the amber. It doesn’t seem to compete with ‘sexy’ perfumes or seek a unique scent, as it shares essence with multiple famous fragrances. It simply aims to create a masculine and strong smell, somewhat sophisticated for those who know little about perfumes, but simple for those who know it’s just common notes well combined. It’s like the stereotype of a man: simple, strong, and brave. The scent remains elegant; I especially recommend it for cold nights and semi-formal attire onwards.

If you want an average fragrance that smells masculine and classic for going to work or having a drink, this could be an option. It has green touches, a slight aquatic note in the base, woods that are hard to pinpoint, and a 2% incense that, if you imagine it, is there. If you want pines and masculinity, I recommend Agua Brava instead, which might seem more musty to you, but it surpasses it in quality/price.
If you’re looking for something average, smelling of classic masculinity and suitable for work or a night out, this could be an option. It has green notes, a subtle aquatic undertone, woods you can’t quite place, and a hint of incense that, if you imagine it, is there. If you want pine and masculinity, go for Agua Brava instead; it might seem a bit dated, but it beats this in value for money.
A very pleasant scent, ideal for fresh days or casual outings. Nothing groundbreaking, but it has its own charm (it’s reminiscent of SWY EDT). The only drawback is the price, so I’d only recommend it if you catch it on sale. Performance and projection are decent. Rating: 8.5/10.
A very pleasant fragrance for fresh days and nights and casual situations. Nothing groundbreaking, but it has its own thing (somewhat similar to the SWY EDT). The only criticism is the high price; I only recommend it if you catch it on promotion. Good longevity and decent projection. Rating: 8.5/10.
First impression: the pine is noticeable but not sharp, accompanied by friendly incense and the benzoin that adds warmth and a balsamic facet, plus all the cedars that provide the woody nuance. A very easy-to-please fragrance, masculine, and with good performance. It has moments similar to the One Million ADN, but don’t misunderstand, just a hint. What reminds me most is London For Men, like a blend of both but with the typical London ADN of London predominating. Very good fragrance.
Completely woody. A pine opening followed by a sugary touch, presumably from the benzoin, although I don’t detect the incense. It maintains the tone of the Hero EDT but over time leans closer to the Parfum version (or borrows DNA from it). Very elegant and well-selected woods that allow for semi-formality, though all Burberry scents give that well-dressed gentleman vibe. It resolves many daily situations, such as going to the office or a café. It retains longer in cold seasons, like autumn and winter.
Pine and woods with a sugary note appropriate for the season. It’s masculine, understanding current masculinity. Before the 90s, perhaps its masculinity would have been less evident, more of a ‘well-behaved’ young man. It’s good for young people or those looking to feel rejuvenated, though it lacks a bit of mystery, charisma, and originality. There are better and worse options, but the supply of this type grows until it’s under the stones. It has no issues with projection or longevity, so it’s not a bad purchase for those who don’t collect. Very versatile in terms of formality. Quite a few pros, but if you’re looking for a challenge, this isn’t it.
A distinct delight, mysterious and alpha-macho: pine, incense, and cedar. An exquisite combination to enjoy outdoors, like walking through a pine forest with soft incense dew after an autumn rain. Highly recommended. The pity is that it’s a bit pricey, but worth it to carry it.
Exquisite fragrance, a true delight. The only drawback is that it doesn’t last long on my skin.
Smells absolutely delicious, but the truth is it fades from my skin incredibly fast.
Another fragrance joining the trend of sweet perfumes, of which there must be hundreds, or thousands if we include Arabic perfumery. It’s woods with an indefinable sweet note. Does it smell bad? Of course not. Does it bring something new? Neither. If you want something good and cheap from this house, go for the Burberry for Men EDT instead. That one truly has its own character: elegant, fresh, woody, subtle, and without a generic scent.
A youthful, semi-formal fragrance that screams vitality, masculinity, and nature through vibrant woods. It opens green, almost citrusy, with a rough pine reminiscent of bygone eras. Then, robust tree woods emerge—no sawdust or old timber; this youthfulness gives it a very masculine, lively touch. Resins and incense bind it into a creamy, powdery amber, wild and transforming the dry down into the best part: elegant, sweet, enveloping, and sensual. A classic, woody, semi-formal, and relaxed profile, ideal for autumn and winter due to its final warmth. Works well during the day or at dusk, and if applied generously, can even function at night.
Prominent aroma of myrrh with a vanilla touch and lots of Atlas cedar. It doesn’t have better performance than a kaiak by Natura, disappointing.
Please!!! I think it’s just another one on the market and nothing more. Let’s not settle for brands churning things out and making us believe they’ve created something new. Truly it’s a shame that with the prestige of the house they sell us a fairy tale. I am totally in agreement with svazquez7.
From the Hero collection, this is the one most similar to the Hero EDT that I love. It’s in the dry down where the delicious characteristic woods of the Hero appear. Worth it even if you have the EDT, as it gives you at least 5 extra hours of longevity.
Tested with two sprays on skin. What a spectacular opening. It has filled me completely. I’m increasingly clear that incense is one of the notes I like most in perfumery. It feels modern, sweet and masculine. For cool climates. As for performance, at first glance it seems weak due to lack of long tests. Reminds me of SWY but this Burberry Hero EDP feels more original to me. Next purchase.
Woods, woods and more woods. Very good sillage and dry down. It stays a bit short on duration but the scent is worth it if you like woody perfumes.
I haven’t smelled the other HEROs, someone gifted me a decant and I have to say that for me, the opening smells to alcoholic One Million, but the heart and base notes that remain afterwards are spectacular, it’s a smoky and slightly sweet wood that I find very rich.
Woods, woods, and more woods. It has a very good opening and dry-down. It lasts a bit short, but the scent is worth it if you like woody perfumes.
Excellent perfume and, in my opinion, underrated. Solid performance (on my skin) of 7 to 8 hours, with a decent projection that creates a perceptible ‘bubble’ at half a metre for the first three hours, then drops down to skin scent. Its resinous, woody and amber profile is very attractive (my partner loves it). However, it has marked notes of incense and pine, so I recommend trying it before and avoiding blind buys. I consider it ideal for night outs and cool climates, as that ‘bubble’ is dense and heavy, making it incompatible with heat or humidity. It works well for casual or semi-formal occasions, and even at work with air conditioning if you moderate the sprays. In three words: serious, mysterious and reliable. Personal rating: 8/10.
A super elegant fragrance, ideal for special occasions.
Caught by it from the very first spray; smells divine on my skin and I recommend it 100%.
Reviews for women’s perfumes are impartial and you find gems; whereas for men, 70% say it’s ‘just another one’ or ‘nothing special’, when it only has the same nonsense everyone has been buying for five years. I’m sure for them Aqua di Gio, SWY and the 20,000 JPG flankers are something new and dynamic. I think the best term for ‘Hero Eau de Parfum’ is ‘reassuring’. It smells good, the blend of those three woods is lovely and the pine gives a fun finish. The benzoin is a treat; it modernises the fragrance and takes it out of the boring routine. People say they don’t notice the incense… perhaps because it shouldn’t, it just adds a smoky touch to the cedar (people complaining it’s just another one, but then want the incense to be more noticeable SO IT’S JUST ANOTHER ORIENTAL-WOODY FRAGRANCE). I see it as perfect for the office, dates with your partner or something more casual with someone new, for going out for a drink if you’re not in Nike tracksuit… but it’s true that it might lose a bit in more important contexts, which I don’t see as bad; for that there are already 3,000 more imposing fragrances. People still expect every new perfume to be the Holy Grail, they let themselves be swept up by fads and stupid biases and miss out on true gems that are more ‘calm’ like this. PS: To all those who say it has an undeclared sweet and vanilla touch… go read what benzoin smells like and how it dries, because here everyone pretends to know and there’s not even a hint.
