  • Eclat d’Arpege Pour Homme is fresh, aquatic, urban, youthful and common. The opening is dynamic, making you feel jovial when applied. Very citrusy with an aquatic or marine touch, although not listed. It gives me the sensation of a refreshing lemon drink with mineral water. The floral and herbal notes felt very weak, noticeable but with low presence; in reality, the citrus notes stand out more. The dry-down is very musky and woody, also common, but still pleasant. I find it versatile, aimed at a youthful audience, with good longevity and medium projection. Something in its aroma reminded me of Carolina Herrera’s 212.

Fresh and soft fragrance, very similar from my point of view to Reaction by Kenneth Cole. It’s my first Lanvin fragrance in the collection and it’s a good choice.

  • When I tried this perfume, there wasn’t a single review in the description. Reading the comparisons, I thought I had tested something else. I would have sworn it was from the Woody Floral Musk family. To summarise, I found it very similar, almost identical, to F32, so I deduce two things: a) it’s very chameleon-like or b) I need to train my nose. Probably both are true.

Fresh, light and soapy… Quite pleasant, it gives a sense of cleanliness and simplicity. Everyone likes it, it’s very friendly… Very wearable for hot days. It doesn’t stand out much, suitable for daily use. It might go unnoticed if someone is wearing a stronger perfume… I see it more for personal enjoyment. It’s my first Lanvin fragrance I’ve tried, I liked it despite how simple it is… I’ll see how their other proposals turn out.

  • Good value for money. It’s a floral fragrance for daily use, correct and without fuss, which is already saying a lot these days.

  • A hidden gem! If it had better marketing, it would be the Aqua di Gio of this decade. I bought it blindly to expand my collection; I wanted something from Lanvin but not L’homme, and I got the best surprise. It opens with mandarin and lemon, then becomes a bath of violets and jasmine that adds elegance, like a freshly washed white or pink shirt. It smells of maximum cleanliness even when you’re sweating. Perfect for men with a dark sense of humour, ideal for the beach, it withstands tropical heat and on me it projects like a monster. It represents the male floral family well. Projection 9/10, sillage 8/10, longevity 9/10. Under 20s might find it childish, but over 30s, pure elegance!

It’s a rich but very common floral, simple and without flair these days. I found it very similar to 212 CH, but the reformulation, not the original. It’s an affordable cologne that passes well as unisex. Not bad to try, but it doesn’t bring novelty. Perhaps it doesn’t smell as good on my skin as it does on others.

  • Total disappointment. It’s a cheap clone of Dsquared2 He Wood, especially due to that violet note everyone mentions. I’m sorry. P.S.: To fill in the blanks: Scent: 3/10, Sillage: 2/10, Longevity: 3/10. 100ml bottle from 2019.

  • What a relief! Although it didn’t last long the first time, once I applied more, it lasted all day. I love the opening and the dry-down suits me well, but it smells very much like Eau de Cartier Concentrée once it settles.

  • I just received it and I’m gradually collecting the Lanvin line. I fell in love from the start; quite citrusy at first, then it moves to a very soft floral, and when it dries down it smells a lot like YSL Y EDT, but fresher. So far, only good impressions.

  • If I define it in a few words: it’s the rich guy version of Invictus, the DNA of that perfume but with an elegant suit, fruity and floral, less aquatic.

  • Floral aroma, very light, a bit shy at first. It picks up when body heat rises and lingers on clothes all day. The violet and musk are noticeable, with a fruity touch but nothing invasive. In my opinion, it smells like that Nivea cream I used as a child. Good price, long-lasting, it sticks. For days and evenings; I wouldn’t recommend it for night; it’s for warm days and the beach. 9/10 all round.

  • It’s charming, fresh and floral, the Trojan horse of summer. It seems harmless but has hidden charm. It’s useful, practical, harmonious, like a floral shampoo. In some aspects it surpasses the classic Aqua di Gio. It’s like crystal water from Olympus that revitalises and brings well-being. Medium longevity; lasts longer on clothes; on skin about 4 hours, with notable projection in the first 2. If you exercise in summer heat, it intensifies and lasts 5-6 hours. With citrus, floral, musk and creamy wood notes, the price is a bargain. The best part is that it’s not as mass-produced, making it special.

  • I just received it after watching a YouTube video. As a user, I applied it today at 15:00 and at 22:30 it was still on my body, neck and arms. I thought it would be lighter and I was wrong; initially, it slightly overwhelmed my nose on my chest, my first close encounter, hehe. From now on, I’ll apply it carefully when buying blind. Despite that, the scent on skin is extraordinary. I loved it. It smells solid, doesn’t fade, but subtle nuances evolve, lightly. I felt in a better mood, it cheered me up. The quality for the low price is striking. I’ll continue testing this week to see how it lasts over the days.

  • It’s not a man’s perfume; it’s unisex and exquisite, very floral with violet. On average, it reminds me of Zegna Uomo, quite similar, but ultimately it changes. My wife said that when worn out, it smells like Chanel Chance EAU Tendre.

  • typpeorange835

A very good fragrance, but watch out: it’s not invasive; it’s meant to be enjoyed up close and personally. It’s delicate, floral and citrusy; the violet is brilliant, conveying cleanliness and class (not maturity, but certainly level). I recommend buying several because it’s no longer being made; what’s available is the last stock. My batch is from 2019, in case it helps.

What a precious fragrance… I disagree with previous negative comments: to me, it’s clean, intimate, non-intrusive, discreet, and super delicious; it’s one of my favourites from the collection.

  • Pabloufum

I’m here to talk about a ‘Hidden Gem’, that is, one of those hidden gems of which little is said. I truly believe this is the fresh/citrus/floral style fragrance with the best performance I’ve tried since I acquired the habit of perfumes. It smells soft, delicate, clean, and relaxing. At first, you feel the mandarin but not the juice, nor the acidity of the peel when squeezing it… rather, what is perceived is similar to when we bring the whole, intact fruit close to the nose. That blends with the rosemary and violet leaves (my favourite flowers), and also, very in the background, a bit of jasmine. All the components seem to be thrown into a container of pure, crystal-clear water; that same thing gives it harmony and freshness. By the time it dries, what is felt most is the violet leaf, which remains intact now accompanying the cedar wood and musk. Imagine grabbing mandarins, rosemary, violets, and jasmine, filling a cedar container with fresh water, putting everything in there, and stirring. That’s how natural and fresh this marvel smells. Performance without exaggeration, and as I said at the beginning, it’s Excellent and surprising, at least to me, because I didn’t expect a fragrance with these characteristics to behave in that way. On skin, with a moderate trail, it lasts between 8 and 12 hours, while on clothes it lasts days, even being felt after washing. Recommended 100% for warm and temperate climates. Especially for the day. Another thing: Although it is Pour Homme, it smells totally Unisex. Scent: 10 Trail: 7 Longevity: 10 Price: Can be found at a very good price 🙂

  • A vibrant, cheerful, uplifting fragrance… And from the prestigious house Lanvin, which only makes perfumes and is one of the oldest in France. In Arpege, explosive citrus notes (peels) like bergamot first, then lemon, and finally mandarin which dominates everything. Amidst that acidity, the flowers: a very present jasmine at times and an intense, spicy violet from the rosemary. Very natural overall. Dries between so much green and white, the purity of the musk accompanied by a soft sandalwood alongside the noble cedar. In summary: a citrus, green, aquatic, and floral fragrance. It reminds me very much of the 202 summer version of 212 On Ice by C H. Definitely for summer.

  • I don’t like it. It smells like hairspray. For such a pompous and pretentious name, one expects something on par with a high-fashion house. It conveys nothing to me, outrageously synthetic and very similar to another that is even worse with these supermarket beauty product afternotes, like the disastrous Citizen Jack by Michael Malul. It’s fresh but simply it’s TRASH due to its chemical smell.

  • The quintessential office perfume. If you’re annoyed that Acqua di Gio doesn’t last these days, go for this one. On hotter days, it unleashes all its magic; in cold climates, not so much. But what I’m sure of is that you’ll smell clean all day.

  • I was looking for citrus perfumes for summer and came across a deal for a set with shower gel; I bought it blind and honestly, I LOVED it, a floral citrus aroma that I liked from the very first moment. I highly recommend it!

  • chegadesaudade

Bought it blind due to its reputation as a hidden gem and good price. The first spray reminded me of Versace Pour Homme (as someone mentioned in the English version), probably due to the soft aquatic note, unlike marine scents like Acqua di Gio that smell of algae and I absolutely hate. However, Eclat differs because of the violet, which is very prominent, reinforcing the aldehydic middle note; together with the jasmine, it feels quite floral. Overall, it doesn’t call attention to itself aggressively but in its own way, which is appreciated because it manages, for this ‘aquatic’ reason, a different nuance from the typical ones you smell on the street that are all the same; within that generic group, Eclat stands out for the better. When I say stand out, I refer to appreciation within this category. This particular fragrance is soft and rich but won’t draw attention; it’s for personal enjoyment and short distances at best. I bought it at the end of autumn and didn’t have the chance to try it in warm weather, which is clearly its strength. My collection grew and I don’t like having many stored without using them; I already know which ones I’ll use this summer. When I imagined using Eclat, it conveyed peace and a rich aroma, but somewhat generic, which didn’t spark my desire to wear it daily. Finally, it found the opportunity to leave, and I let it go. Before it left, I compared it with Allure Homme Sport, and in my judgement, it can hold its own. Eclat found me more subtly elegant on its floral side, and in the dry-down, it has a slightly powdery touch that I like a lot; Allure had that stronger aldehydic note that lingers until the end (plus the tonka bean and that sweetish mid-base), and in a way, it gives me the impression that it’s more showy. I must admit it cost me to let it go, partly because it’s becoming quite hard to find (I bought it as a tester at a good price) and partly because it’s the aquatic fragrance I like most (and it’s hard for me to like this type), but it lacked that necessary ‘punch’ to stay. I think I’ll order it to be gifted to me because I’ll miss it.

  • This bloke is spectacular. It’s the one I like most from my entire collection; it feels sweet. Honestly, I didn’t identify the notes until I looked them up here. It’s the perfume that synthesises my preference with those my old man uses (he wears the Antonio Banderas ones). I use it when I’m with my family; it feels like my inner child in a bottle.

  • Review of Lanvin: Eclat d’Arpege Pour Homme. Opens with citrus, highlighting lime, then blends softly with rosemary in the heart. Projection is acceptable (about an hour initially) and longevity is moderate (4-5 hours). I only detect the sandalwood base, which is very faint. Ideal for spring and summer without much heat. Not recommended for evening wear as its trail is moderate. Suitable for both formal and informal occasions; it doesn’t offend, in fact, I received praise. It can be a bit linear, but that doesn’t mean it should be dismissed. It fulfils its function of keeping you scented and fresh. In summary, a citrus fragrance with spicy notes for casual and office use, day and evening in spring and summer, which performs its job well. Regards.

  • Rocha Armaf

It’s a marvel. Although I detect a feminine touch, the longevity is incredible; being fresh, it lasts all day at work, and I still catch hints of it in the evening. I’ve received compliments from girls, it leaves a pleasant impression, ideal for the office or everyday wear. Very affordable price, a hidden gem in my opinion.

  • hoffmanito

Bought it blind and fell in love with the scent; it’s good value, but the downside is it only lasts about two hours on my skin before fading, plus there’s no EDP version available.

  • Reminds me of Invictus, but with a slightly more floral touch. I didn’t like the scent too much. Although it performs better than Lanvin L’Homme, the latter has a delicious smell and is far less synthetic than Eclat. Still, many people will enjoy it. It fits current trends perfectly: sweet, aquatic, somewhat floral, and with good longevity.

  • A good fragrance for everyday wear or outings in moderate to hot weather. You’ll surely get many compliments thanks to its versatility.

  • molletmod.73

A wonderful and little-known fragrance from the legendary Lanvin. Fresh, violet-like and musky, with a citrus opening and then a very floral, soft, youthful, cheerful and spring-like heart. An aroma based on violet flower with hints of blue perfumes, a floral heart and lots of musk. It smells very similar to Quatre by Boucheron. In my opinion it’s unisex, leaning slightly masculine, but a woman could wear it perfectly. Totally versatile. Economical price. If you like Quatre or aromas like Montblanc Starwalker and find it for under 30 euros for 100 ml, buy it without hesitation. For mild temperatures between 18 and 25°C it’s a gem. The scent is excellent and I prefer it to Boucheron, which smells more synthetic and generic. It lasts about 3 hours, with a short sillage and 30 minutes of projection, which is fine for a fresh spring scent; at this price I could ask for nothing more. It’s for a short outing during the day in March, April and May. For strong heat or evenings, there are better options.

If you don’t know about it, you’re missing a real gem. Holding the bottle feels like a first date, but that excitement vanishes in four or five minutes. It’s a pity this reputable French house hasn’t left a mark (apart from Eclat and L’Homme), and this citrusy, bubbly yet shallow scent, more transparent than mountain water, doesn’t help. It starts lively with lots of lemon and a bit of tangerine, not very natural but rather harsh and sharp. The pale blue bottle is as understated as the fragrance, which after half an hour reveals its artificiality, seeming aquatic but empty. The name Éclat d’Arpège sounds more pretentious than the wigs of Louis XVIII’s court for this pseudo-lemon infusion. Lanvin should have saved it for something more elegant. Honestly, it adds nothing; test it first if you’re interested.

  • Buy blind if you have read good reviews and the price is good online. Upon arrival, total disappointment. It barely smells and lasts on skin for just 5 minutes. Use it for everyday wear, after a shower, to stay at home and forget it once it runs out.

  • Ideal for everyday wear and fresh days. Everyone will like it; it reminds me of Carolina Herrera’s 212. The trail on skin lasts 1-2 hours and then fades, but it clings to the skin for over 8 hours for the last two hours. On clothes it lasts more than 8 hours. I feel it is a herbal fragrance for any occasion, could it be called ‘blue’? I feel it is mature, for people aged 25 to 40. Price and quality are incredible for how cheap it is. Buy blind, it makes a good gift.

  • PacmanKinder

I love it. It is fresh and has nothing to do with what is currently on the market. On my skin, I get mandarin, violet and rosemary. It is a pity that, as everyone says, the longevity is short. But considering the price, it is undoubtedly a gem.

  • campeones22

Right, I’m updating my review… The scent is soft and masculine; it doesn’t shout but accompanies you for hours. It is fresh, citrusy and pleasant, nothing overwhelming. The dry-down reminds me a lot of Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc and Armaf’s Hunter. Obviously, the Hunter projects more and has more impact, but this Lanvin one is more refined and soft. In summary: give it a try, if you get hooked you have a spring/summer fragrance à la Zara. As I already own the Hunter, I didn’t buy it. Hope this helps.

  • Omega Imperator

If you catch a 2019 batch, it is pure gold. It is that kind of fragrance that you want more of the more you wear. It works magic in the heat; it doesn’t last forever but it blends beautifully with the breeze and women adore it. Reapplying isn’t an issue as it won’t break the bank. If you are looking for something fresh, easy and that earns compliments without being the most original in the world, buy it without hesitation. It fulfils its purpose perfectly.
