Alexandria No Apologies reminds me a lot of Nasomatto’s Pardon, but not at first; here Pardon is prettier, almost sublime. No Apologies comes out more chaotic, compact and a bit grey and insipid, so when you apply it you think: ‘damn, it smells like solvent’. After five minutes it wakes up, beautiful white flowers with chocolate appear, and a westernised oud base that is elegant and cheerful, nothing like the stinky ‘wannabe’ ouds that smell of diarrhoeic cows. It resembles Pardon only in the dry-down phase and a bit in the middle. Still, it gives you a good idea of that famous Italian perfume that is causing a sensation. The price difference is abyssal, so with No Apologies you get something that smells good, lasts 6-7 hours, and projects high for the first two. As a closing remark, I want to say that when I first smelled Pardon, I almost cried; no perfume had ever moved me so much, it was such a beautiful experience that my eyes filled with tears. No Apologies, without ceasing to be good for its price, will never equal the three-dimensional beauty of Pardon, its layered aroma: a while dark chocolate, another flowers and oud, then combinations of everything, always changing, becoming more exquisite each time, a madness of delight. I tell you with enthusiasm: try Pardon, even if it’s with a split or decant online, a drop stolen from a neighbour, in-store if you’re lucky, and if you like it, if it fills you with happiness as it did me, save up, work extra hours, be an Uber driver in your free time, look for a Sugar Daddy or Mommy, whatever it takes to buy a full bottle. How much is happiness worth to you?

What a beautiful scent, an opening of cinnamon and sandalwood that gives the impression of a masculine fragrance with certain Red Tobacco vibes, but without the cloying sweetness… As it dries down, the magic of dark chocolate and flowers with lingering cinnamon emerges… The tonka bean adds its creamy touch, keeping it from being too sweet. It worked magic on my skin, with projection and longevity of around seven hours, followed by another four hours close to the skin. I consider it a unisex fragrance that kept me smelling my wrist all day.
I bought No Apology to add to my collection alongside the original, but what a pleasant surprise: it smells incredibly close and wonderful. It’s the highly recommended option for smelling classy without the sting of overspraying; Pardon is, after all, the most expensive wooden stopper on the market (lol).
I bought No Apologies to have it in the collection alongside the original, but what a pleasant surprise: it smells very close and great. A more than recommended option to smell classy without suffering when spraying; Pardon is the most expensive wooden cap on the market (haha).
No Apologies is my gourmand take on Pardon: the chocolate and cinnamon add a dusty cocoa note, sweetening it and making it more wearable. I think it’s a solid alternative to Nasomatto’s, as its patchouli is less aggressive and the price per millilitre is far more reasonable. It’s linear but with good longevity, totally unisex and perfect for colder weather. I’d say it’s one of Alexandria’s finest inspirations. Rating: 8.5/10
For me, No Apologies is like a ‘gourmand’ version of Pardon, as the declared chocolate and cinnamon give it a more powdery cocoa look, sweeten it a bit and make it easier to assimilate. I feel it is a good alternative to the Nasomatto one, considering that the patchouli in this can be less friendly and that the price-per-millilitre ratio doesn’t convince some. It is more linear, but with good longevity, totally unisex and more for cold climates, I think this is one of Alexandria’s good inspirations. Note: 8.5/10
