A fresh, citrusy and herbal perfume, better for mild days than cold ones. It reminds me of CK One in its citrus notes. Ideal for going to the beach or after the gym. After a few minutes, it smells of bergamot with vetiver and musk that softens it. Jasmine adds the floral note and moss gives a subtle chypre touch.
I used it today after a long time and for the first time it reminded me of Givenchy’s Insense. It must be the blend of blackcurrants, bergamot, and jasmine (although Givenchy doesn’t list blackcurrant, they have many florals and that’s the idea it gives me). It’s a good option for the price and quite original within the mainstream, although it may seem outdated or shocking to some (my wife hates it).
Smells good, correct and without issues. Starts citrusy, slightly sour and bitter due to blackcurrants, with amber emerging quickly. After half an hour, the citrus fades and the flowers with the apple take over, adding extra sweetness. The amber continues until the end with musk and moss. It’s not for attracting attention or receiving compliments, but it works perfectly for daily office wear. I’ve tried it in heat and cold; it works much better in the cold, as it can be bothersome in the heat. Projects well for the first two or three hours and lasts comfortably between ten and twelve hours. Ideal for those over thirty and great value for money.
Nice citrusy, pleasant and sharp, almost metallic. Phenomenal for smelling good without annoying anyone in the office. I alternate it with Zara Silver when I want this type of aroma. I like it and it has an acceptable price.

I never paid much attention to Quartz Pour Homme before; I saw it as cheap and had a prejudice that I wouldn’t like it. Over time, comparing it to Insense (which I adore), I got curious and visited a perfumer. Nowadays, they rarely keep old testers due to reformulation complaints, but this place had the vintage Quartz, which was a blessing as I fell in love with that version. I tried the current one, and while they are similar at the start, the new base is weaker and less developed. It’s not a disaster, just softer and of slightly lower quality. The vintage Quartz (1995) opens with sweet bergamot, blackcurrants, and galbanum. Then green apple stands out, adding freshness and lightness initially, before becoming more voluptuous. The clove is subtle, almost imperceptible, lost among the woods with vetiver being the most noticeable. It’s sparkling, fresh, woody, with a floral bouquet that doesn’t go unnoticed. Labdanum shines as it dries, blending with musk and amber for total exquisiteness; it’s my favourite part, with a fabulous dry-down where the galbanum is still detectable. Does it smell like Insense? They seem to speak the same language, but Quartz is more radiant while Insense is more intense. Notes of tangerine, basil, lavender, and a coniferous base make Givenchy more complex. Both play with fruity, floral, woody, and herbal elements, and although they share blackcurrants, the other notes make the difference. Quartz Pour Homme is a great option to evoke Insense, though it doesn’t replace it. Magnificent fragrance.

A classic citrus from another time. If I had no other option, I’d keep it in my collection. Simple, masculine and mature, especially for those over 40. The price is very good.
I used it in the 2010s. The best thing was the price and that formal, serious woody aroma, nothing old-fashioned. Yesterday in 2024 I tried it in a shop and noticed it had been reformulated. The opening and heart now have an exaggerated lemon and the woods have been reduced. Only the dry-down resembles the original. I no longer buy it because I didn’t like the change, but it lasts quite a while and isn’t ugly, so try it for the ridiculous price of a French fragrance.
After reading that some said it resembles Givenchy’s Insense, I was intrigued and tried it. I agree, it brings back sweet memories of the 90s and my youth. I bought it for the low price. It has good longevity and projection, I see it more for autumn/spring and it tends to be unisex. Wearing this perfume is like reviving golden eras.
I bought it blind and loved it. Smells clean, soft and creamy. It’s cheap but masculine and youthful, perhaps perfect for young people to use daily at school or university. Gives a clean, masculine scent without being overpowering. I use it every day after a shower.

Lasts around 5 or 6 hours, perfect for going out at night or to enclosed venues! It projects very well.
