Russian Oud by Areej Le Doré is an olfactive fragrance for men and women. Russian Oud was launched in 2018. The nose behind this creation is Russian Adam. The top note is oud wood; the heart notes are cacao pod, Indian oud, castoreum and natural musk; the base notes are labdanum, myrrh and cedar.

Russian-inspired Oud… 👨🍳🇷🇺 There’s plenty of woody oud here with cocoa, giving it a dusty, talc-like touch. It has gourmand notes but doesn’t go full-on gourmand. The oud doesn’t smell dirty, making it easy to wear. Performance is modest, unisex but with a more masculine profile. Caai is impossible to get hold of, so don’t bother (unless you want the perfume exactly as it is and are willing to pay the premium). I’m sure in a year or so they’ll relaunch Russian Oud under the ‘Classics’ brand, just as they did with Oud Zhen, Russian Musk and Ottoman Empire. Russian Oud follows the same line as Oud Monarch, but here there are nuances of tobacco and cinnamon over a vanilla base. I don’t take away from Russian Oud’s merits, but it’s easily replaceable by the perfume I mentioned. It’s a good perfume, first-class quality, but it didn’t blow my mind.
