A curious perfume with a pleasant, well-blended scent featuring oud, lavender and chocolate. It recalls Drops Barcelona’s Chocolate Oud and Francis Kurkdjian’s Crime, though if I had to choose, I’d stick with Kurkdjian’s as it is more intense, long-lasting and affordable. I don’t understand why the 50ml version costs €35 more than the rest of the brand’s range. At a normal price of €160, I might have added it to my collection, but as I see nothing special about it and there are other fragrances from the brand with more oud and a concentration that feels lower, in this case it’s a… Next! Longevity is not bad, among the best from the brand and on par with Charlatan or Harem Rose, yet remains moderate for the price, especially when it is even more expensive. Projection and trail, like with all F&M scents, are very, very weak. To summarise, it smells very well but, in my opinion, does not justify its price (though obviously brands set the prices and if they can sell it this way, perhaps it corresponds to an exclusivity or segmentation strategy). I bought the Discovery Set convinced I would love it and want to buy all of them, and now I’m torn between Charlatan and Harem Rose, but none of these scents make me say: I want it now! It’s for when I have money and no other perfume that I truly like is available… I see it as more of a night fragrance, although given its moderate performance, it wouldn’t be a crime to wear it in any situation… Scent: 8.5 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 6 Value for money: 4.5 Versatility: 6 Originality: 7.5 Overall: 8
