Descripción

Maduro by Fort & Manle is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2016, the nose behind this composition is Rasei Fort. The top notes unfold with pineapple, red apple, cinnamon, and basil; the heart reveals honey, beeswax, Damask rose, and Bourbon vanilla; while the base notes settle on tobacco, vetiver, benzoin, patchouli, amber, and Atlas cedar.

The final Discovery set fragrance and one of my favourites. Charlatan is my top pick, though it lacks projection; Harem Rose surprised me immensely; Confessions of a Garden Gnome is a delicate, pleasant floral; Impressions of Giverny smells rich but fails on performance; Maduro is classic, masculine, and boasts one of the best performances in the collection. In the middle ground, Suleyman le Magnifique is lovely but fades very quickly. The ones I didn’t like: Bojnikoff’s Purple Hat smells good (chocolate + lavender) but doesn’t justify the price; Amber Absolutely is too vintage and animalic for me; Fatih Sultan Mehmed is one of the worst in performance – any designer fragrance at £30 lasts longer and projects better; Forty Thieves is the least I liked in terms of scent, difficult to wear. Overall, I was slightly disappointed, expecting something brighter. Maduro lives up to its name: a mature scent, more masculine, for experienced wearers. Classic, vintage, yet beautiful. A base of tobacco, pineapple, and honey, nothing like Tobacco Vanille or Amber Tobacco. It brings something new that recalls the past. Something strange happened to me: when I smelled it, I thought of fruits, tobacco, medicinal notes, and spices like oud and anise, but it contains patchouli and vetiver that caused that initial whiff 😂😅. Around the fruity tobacco lie sweet, balsamic, and woody notes that give it strong, mature character, though light. It’s one of the best in the set for performance. I see it for moderate temperatures, more evening-appropriate but wearable during the day, and slightly masculine. If I were to buy a bottle from F&M now, I’d choose between Charlatan, Confessions, or Harem Rose. I’m not sure if it’s enough for a full bottle. Scent: 8, Longevity: 8, Projection: 7, Value: 5, Versatility: 6, Originality: 9, Overall: 8.5
