Vetiver Oriental by SL: If I had to describe this scent in one word, it would be magical. The notes are perfectly sequenced and selected to unfold on the skin one after another. The opening hits with sweetness, thanks to the amber and chocolate. Then, in the second phase, woody notes emerge such as sandalwood, iris, and that unmistakable vetiver. You won’t regret owning this unique gem within the SL house. Rating 9/10.
At first, what stands out most is the vetiver paired with bitter chocolate. Over time, the vetiver and moss gain prominence, giving it a mature character. As it dries down, the vetiver becomes more earthy, where the amber really shines through. It smells very natural. It has good longevity and a close-to-the-skin projection, though I can still detect it for hours. It is clearly a masculine fragrance I would wear in any weather.
In the opening, I notice a lot of vetiver and a slightly bitter chocolate. Over time, the vetiver and moss gain presence, giving it a mature character. As it dries down, the vetiver becomes more earthy and that is when the amber is felt. It smells quite natural. Good longevity and projection right on the skin, though I can smell it for hours. In my opinion, it is clearly masculine and I would wear it in any weather.
The first thing I disagree with is that it is marketed as linear; I find it highly evolving. It is one of the most elegant and exquisite perfumes in my collection. The chocolate note is perfectly balanced, not cloying like the Gentleman EDP, and the combination with iris and vetiver is masterful. A safe purchase.

What a triumph this fragrance is! I nearly missed buying the large bottle because it no longer ships to Argentina and it sold out just in time. Now I treat my 20ml decant like gold. It is dark, with a lively spark yet not cheerful; a quiet, introspective vibration. Sometimes it leaves me a little melancholic, but when it doesn’t, I enjoy it immensely. In the opening, it smells of quality white chocolate, with clean green notes and a vetiver touch reminiscent of Guerlain. Then the vetiver root emerges with the patchouli that gives it body, while the moss also plays its part. It stops being clean, moves away from the conventional, recalls old libraries and has a medicinal side, entirely balsamic. However, it never loses the floral nuance that provides balance and soothes it, almost chypre. It is a masterpiece, not for everyone, but it knows what it wants to be. It is not fawning but very welcoming. The longevity is tremendous and it evolves beautifully over time. I will certainly manage to get one…

Then the depth of the vetiver root appears, accompanied by patchouli and moss that give it body and texture. It stops being a clean scent and moves away from the conventional, with echoes of an old library and antique furniture. It has a medicinal and balsamic side, but never loses a floral nuance that provides balance. To me, it is a work of art. It is not for everyone, but one must respect what it wants to be. Its longevity is tremendous and it evolves beautifully over time.
