  Very well balanced. This new creation from L’Artisan is sweet but not cloying. The sandalwood blends brilliantly with the floral notes, and the wood maintains the balance of this light and elegant fragrance.

  Bois Farine is a very special, strange, and creative fragrance, unique in the market. Ellena is the magician of light and subtle details; he assembles simple notes perfectly. It smells like pastry dough and nuts wrapped in woods, with a talc-infused sandalwood that leaves a dry, soft, and comfortable trail like a cashmere sweater. It’s semi-sweet, almost gourmand but without being cloying. The trail and longevity are medium, ideal for daytime. It transported me back to childhood, smelling of cakes in my grandmother’s kitchen. Rating: 8.5

  I’m not sure if I should buy Bois de Farine as I’m looking for a more potent iris, but inhaling it is a top-tier experience. Lately, I’ve only found relaxing and harmonious scents. The fennel seeds (which smell like cough syrup or children’s infusions, not brown but greyish) lose their medicinal note thanks to J.C. Ellena; alongside the iris, they create something slightly talc-like, reminiscent of almond. There might be tiare flowers in low doses. The creamy, woody base maintains that discreet halo of a second skin, as if the molecules blend to create a new note. Pure olfactory art.
