  I received a sample of this perfume as a gift from a store, and the first thing that came to mind was a baby cologne, which is pleasant, but not something I’m interested in using. The market is full of more interesting things. This costs more than $200 for 100ml?? Seriously?? It’s not worth the price…

  Today a decant arrived as part of an exchange I made with another perfume enthusiast, hehe. On the first sniff on my skin, I thought: iris, clean, radiant, and creamy, the iris reminiscent of Narciso Rodriguez’s Essence Eau de Musc. I let it settle and smelled it again later: fatty and airy aldehydes that reminded me of something… Surprisingly, I thought to myself: this is vintage style; I thought it was something completely different… I kept smelling… Suddenly, the dried-down Chanel 5 L’Eau came to mind. Perhaps it shares something with that… Almost 3 hours later: the scent on my wrist is still on the same line but calmer, a bit creamy, airy (but not ‘fresh’), woody, and with a dry, not-too-sweet vanilla… I see people have voted similarities with an old Lancôme fragrance, and although I haven’t tried it, I understand the relation… On that list I see Caleche and wonder if maybe it reminded me of that too… Anyway, I liked it; the composition is very good, but I don’t think I would use it if I owned it… I think I would opt to buy Myths, Memoir, or another Opus instead of this one…

  Dia Woman is my first foray into Amouage’s feminine perfumes. In the opening, it smells very astringent, musky, and floral, with violet, sage, and white flowers being very prominent. Then it dries down to something very pleasant, mostly floral, fresh, slightly sweet, and fruity, where I detect fig and peach (although I only declared the florals). I find it a super attractive scent for a woman; it feels high quality and, being Amouage, I see it as immensely wearable and Western. It’s versatile, suitable for all seasons, clearly more feminine, with good performance, nothing beastly. Without a doubt, I would love to wear it on my girlfriend. Rating: 8/10

  I love the scent but I can’t handle the opening… not because it’s ugly, but because of those piercing, invasive, and astringent aldehydes that give me a headache. It happens every time I wear it. If it didn’t, I would hold it in high esteem, but alas. The scent is exquisite, a floral with aldehydes in full force that lift the blend and a soapy musk in the base (a lot of musk, in fact). It projects massively for the first two hours before retreating to last on the skin for about 5 hours at most. Let’s not complain about the longevity and projection for this type of fragrance. It doesn’t smell like baby lotion at all… it projects class and sophistication, just like almost all aldehydic florals. Regarding the price, it may seem expensive, but the notes it’s made from are by no means cheap.

  My apologies to the fans of this fragrance, but it smells like alligator soap to me. I actually had the chance to sniff it, and it was a major turn-off. I certainly don’t want to smell like alligator soap for €365, no way!

  From the first spray until it settles, it only smells like cheap Marseille soap. A horrible purchase.

  Sorry to the lovers of this perfume, but for me it smells like alligator soap. I genuinely tried it and it was a total rejection. I don’t want to smell like alligator soap for £365. NO.
