  A cool fragrance with a dry, woody coconut—nothing like sunscreen. The spices and tobacco give it a fibrous, rustic character, while the vanilla adds creaminess without being overly sweet, as the tobacco, spices and a touch of oud keep it in check. I liked it, though it didn’t blow my mind, and while it plays in the same league as Fan Your Flames, it doesn’t resemble it. It’s a bit unusual to buy in a bottle, but a very original olfactory experience. I discovered the brand in an Italian perfumerie, then bought Morocco, the house’s jewel, before reading online that their marketing sends free bottles to YouTubers in exchange for hype. Some reviews are worth reading, others aren’t, and you shouldn’t let yourself be swept away by them. I consider this a winter coconut—different and interesting, even if it didn’t turn my head.

  I managed to get a decant and it’s a very curious scent: on paper it smells of fresh coconut with vanilla, oud and amber, but on skin it’s different, darker and earthier with a deep amber. On skin, it feels like sweet wood that evolves with nutmeg and tobacco. At one hour, the dry and robust coconut appears with vanilla, but only for 15 minutes. By two hours, the base arrives with tonka bean, elemi and musk, without the oud, giving a spiced and sweet trail thanks to the perpetual amber. By three hours, the complex aromas fade and something simple remains: oud, amber and vanilla. From four to eight hours, you detect amber and perhaps honey, reminiscent of Le Male Elixir but without the tobacco. The trail isn’t massive; it’s simple and calm, yet it delivers a shock of sensuality when you wear it. It’s ageless and mostly masculine. Totally recommended, but I’d advise testing it on skin first.
