Million Gold Elixir by Rabanne

It’s the 1 Million Le Beau without the coconut. I expected something from the Million line with tangerine and sandalwood, but there was none. It’s just more of the same endless line of releases.

At 15, my first perfume was the 1 Million and I went through about four bottles. Now at 29, after trying many, this one seems spectacular. It’s warm yet fresh for summer, but also suitable for winter. Hard to describe: a sweet citrus tangerine that yields to sweet sandalwood wood, finishing with a soft vanilla. It’s harmonious, lovely, and rich.

Hello, I’ve never tried any of the One Million range because they’re perfumes for fifteen-year-olds on scooters, but this is different, it doesn’t smell like the others, and it’s VERY sexy. Give it a try. Scent: I’ve worn it for little while, perhaps I don’t detect the tangerine yet, but it smells of masculine vanilla with wood, very sexy, in the way women like it. The first ten minutes smell off, then it improves, and by thirty minutes it smells brilliant. Longevity: A beast, over ten hours. Sillage: Also a beast, prolonged explosion. 8.8/10. Age: Very youthful, rare for those over 35. Appeal: Made to please women, regarding scent, longevity, and sillage. Climate: Not very versatile, for cold weather; in the heat it’s detectable. Occasions: Night, dates, parties, cold days.

You walk into any perfumery and you smell this, the 1 Million and its versions. This scent exterminates whatever you put around it. It’s intense and bold; it filled me with impatience. I was gifted a miniature and gave it away. It doesn’t fill me up, not because it’s everywhere, but due to aromatic contrast. The vanilla gives creaminess but the texture is that green tangerine peel over a hyper-sweet base. Blimey, it’s not for me. It smells good in general; it’s a flanker of the legend, my respects to the classic 1 Million. I’m not bothered that someone else wears it; in fact, I’d like to smell it on another person, but not on myself. It makes me feel like Doctor Who’s Master. Scent: 4.3, Projection: 8.2, Longevity: 8.4. Rating: 6/10 (69.6% perfection).

Compared to the original version of Million Gold: they’ve softened the sandalwood; it doesn’t smell so dry anymore, it’s a fresher wood. It’s quite different from Santal 33, but they’ve turbo-charged the vanilla and turned it gourmand, with something akin to Invictus Victory. The tangerine is almost imperceptible.

Personally, I absolutely love it. I see many reviews saying it’s the same old thing, but within the current landscape of perfumery, it’s a fragrance that almost everyone will like. It has excellent performance, longevity, and projection, and the scent is addictive: like a blend of vanilla with a hint of mango (though it’s not listed, that’s what I perceive). Everything is very creamy, sweet without being cloying, and gives you the urge to smell it again… Another gem from Quentin Bisch.

For a special man… for those with a prince’s halo and skin that does it justice. Sweet and intoxicating, with warm, mysterious woods, liquorish citrus, and a creamy touch of vanilla and amber. Quality, intensity, and good taste.

A fragrance that’s like a dessert in a bottle. From the start, it smells of fig (not declared), in the style of D&G K or Le Beau by J.P. Gaultier. What dominates is a caramelised tangerine that moves into a milky, creamy, and indulgent heart. It evokes a sweet, soft dessert, along the lines of Ferragamo Uomo but more concentrated. It’s a sweet bomb, almost edible in texture: warm, enveloping, and addictive. Ideal for informal night outs, cold weather, and a young crowd looking for something sensual and comforting. It has little in common with the original 1 Million, having its own character, more modern and gourmand. Personally, it has surprised and delighted me.

A sweet and cool scent, a blend of caramel and marshmallow, perfect for any occasion without being cloying. Very pleasant, good projection and longevity. If you don’t like sweet fragrances, it might not be your thing. I encourage you to smell and try it; it could surprise you!

A perfume with a rather strange opening; it doesn’t highlight the declared mandarin as in Scandal or Mandarin Sky. We don’t find a sweet mandarin, but a rare opening that transforms into a sweet perfume after a few minutes without being strident, and the sandalwood becomes noticeable, giving it a distinct touch. Personally, I haven’t tried the previous version (Million Gold), but I give it my OK. Longevity on clothes is excellent, trail is moderate, and fixation is good.

It doesn’t last long, but it’s so fresh.
