Boss Bottled Parfum by Hugo Boss is a leather fragrance for men. Launched in 2022, this composition was created by Suzy Le Helley and Annick Menardo. The top notes reveal olibanum incense and mandarin; the heart unfolds fig tree and lily root; while the base notes complete the structure with cedar and leather.

Far removed from the classic Boss Bottled EDT or the EDT Intense. It smells of fig leaf at the opening and dry-down. Very similar to Loewe Solo Mercurio, but more synthetic. If you like the fig note, I’d choose Loewe Solo Mercurio, as it has many more nuances and evolution.

Updating the review: after a few days, I wore the jacket where I applied the fragrance again, and it still smelled and projected. Moreover, the base note clearly follows the Boss Bottled EDP line.

  • Boss Bottled Parfum is woody, spicy, and slightly leathery. An fruity and spicy opening reminiscent of the Maninka in the male The Scent line. You can detect powdery and vegetal notes from the iris root, along with a leathery accord. As it dries down, woods emerge. Everything is balanced; nothing stands out. It has elements for autumn and winter, or early spring, being spicy, sweet, and powdery, with a fruity touch that adds versatility. I don’t think it’s a good option for summer or heat. Suitable for formal or informal wear. It lasted between seven and eight hours for me, notable in the first hour, then dropping to skin-level. It differs in scent from the original or the EDT Intense, though the structure is similar; it leans closer to the The Scent line, especially the Intense and Parfum Edition, due to the handling of iris root and leather. I’ve liked it and would buy it again.

Well executed. Far superior to The Scent regular. One of the best current DNA’s; the leather is very well constructed and lacks that aspect of The Scent that repels me. I know it’s not a direct flanker, but wow, this Parfum is based on The Scent, albeit improved. Superb.

  • A very interesting fragrance. Finally, Hugo Wood and Herbs 🌿. The leather note is noticeable. It has a slightly bitter, very masculine and serious, somewhat formal touch. It’s powerful and long-lasting. Excellent.

  • I don’t understand the YouTube reviews. It’s the only Hugo Boss fragrance I’ve purchased, as I’m not a fan of the house, but I’ve loved it. Longevity is about six or seven hours. Projection and sillage last a couple of hours. It’s standard for designer perfumes today, but a very well-executed scent.

  • Brilliant. As a user of the Boss Bottled line, I notice the longevity surpasses the EDT. I love the performance: around six hours on the skin and, on clothes, it’s still noticeable after 48 hours.

I think Demachy and Dior started the Parfum trend, using the term as they once did with ‘Sport’ or ‘Extreme’: a twist on the wheel. Now the pendulum swings back. This new wave of flankers isn’t just about changing concentration; it’s about complicating classic formulas by removing and adding notes. The word ‘Parfum’ suggests ‘the definitive version’, and Boss Bottled needed that label after 1,357 launches. I won’t discuss the Elixir as I’m not familiar with the line, but this smells denser, spicier, and deeper than most on the market. The price is ridiculous, yet it confirms that the next generation of perfumes—the one Chanel still ignores—will lead us down dark and complex paths. That’s what I hope for.

  • BassoProfumo

A powerful and very loud perfume. It has nothing to do with the classic Bottled. Unlikely to surpass the house’s masterpiece, Hugo Boss Bottled Intense. This is too strident and synthetic; I didn’t like it.

  • carAddict

I tried a sample I was thinking of giving away because I’m not a fan of the Bottled line (I only tolerate Marine). I sprayed some and loved it. I totally agree it’s not the original EdT (which I can’t stand). It seemed rich, attractive, and pleasant, slightly sweet despite the notes not explaining it. Average longevity.

  • Excellent! It lasts eight hours and projects strongly for the first two. It feels very masculine due to the woods and leather, exquisite. Women love it. Ideal for cold days and nights. Rating: 9/10.

  • Madridskar1997

I didn’t like it at all; even with a small amount, it can give me a headache. Better for night wear in the cold, never in the heat. It lasts a long time but is barely noticeable on others.

  • Just bought it. It’s an off-the-beaten-track scent, blending green apple and cinnamon which usually don’t go together. It’s clearly resinous, dominated by frankincense and leather, with a smoked hint like burnt rubber that I love and gives it a lot of masculinity. It’s not for young people, but for a young professional adult seeking elegance and gentlemanly qualities. The projection, being a ‘parfum’, is just right, but I forgive it for the reasonable price and because it avoids cheap clones.

  • With all due respect, I’m reviewing it again because I’m falling in love. It’s packed with oriental vibes and incense from the start. Dry green notes of iris with a violet touch, and the fig adds sweetness. Then comes the smoky leather from the incense. Sober, dark, elegant, modern, and light. Nothing like its original version.

  • Typical of the moment: iris, leather, and everything else. If you already have something in the style of Dior Homme, this is redundant and nothing new.

  • An excellent perfume that I see suited for cold climates and evening wear, though it could also be worn during the day if it’s not extremely hot. A fantastic option from the Hugo Boss house; if you enjoy incense and leather, this could be an excellent blind buy. Delighted with this great fragrance.

  • Enrique Duboy

It’s like Dior Homme but fresher: starts citrusy, evolves into wood and leather, and that oriental touch with incense makes it unique, even if the performance isn’t the best on the market.

  • nneestorr

It smells quite good; the opening has a distinct sweet note for my nose, and above all, I like the woody dry-down, but it seems to lack originality.

  • I’m a woman; I bought two female perfumes online and they sent me a male one 😁. This is a bombshell; it smells incredibly strong and I don’t dislike it, but even though I think perfumes have no gender, when I wear this, more than one person looks at me strangely because it smells very ‘manly’… they sent me this and Eternity Aromatic Essence, and I preferred the latter. I can’t speak as a man, but if I smelled a boy wearing this cologne, I’d love it.

  • campeones22

With all due respect, this is an absolute beast due to its strength; it lasts and projects well, but I’m extremely bothered by the fig note. Fig plants smell unpleasant or too strong to me, and that’s exactly what I detect in this perfume.

  • Van der wiel

A masculine fragrance that smells of quality: fine incense, leather, and a touch of sweetness. It’s not for everyone if you’re coming from scents like Invictus or JPG; it’s more in the style of Bvlgari Black or Carolina Herrera Prive. I wear it with a biker jacket and boots, and it looks perfect.

  • This is an incense bomb, very different from the original. It’s a super interesting proposal with quite good quality and performance. If you like that style, I recommend it wholeheartedly.

  • So different from the original Bottled, which is both its best and worst feature. Don’t buy it expecting to recall the mother essence, as it doesn’t have them; instead, it’s so seductive and solid that you won’t miss the original. It has a magnificent incense opening that settles into something elegant and sensual. I love the blend of leather and orris. It works well as a signature in cooler seasons and is even better for a date. Good performance; it easily reaches seven hours of personal bubble with a moderate trail. Highly recommended. Rating 8.5/10. Batch August 2023.

  • My perfume for the office and important meetings. It’s subtle, captivating, and has good presence. I’ve received compliments, though I think it’s more about boosting confidence by being noticeable without being overwhelming. It fills me with security for attending meetings and consultations.

  • I don’t know why it’s so underrated; I absolutely love it. I tried it in a shop and it smells incredible—very masculine, with long-lasting wear—so I’ve already bought it online.

  • Ideal for mild or cold days; on my dry skin it smells like mentholled incense (from the fig leaves), fresh, slightly dusty with lots of cedar and fig. Be careful if you have allergies, as that incense can be irritating, though it only lasts about five minutes. In the dry down, a rustic leather emerges with tonka bean, and finally only the tonka bean remains with a barely perceptible noble leather. I wear it for formal occasions; projection and trail are moderate, and it lasts seven or eight hours.

  • emporioblanko

Tested and discarded. Fresh opening with the mandarin, which on my skin doesn’t smell like mandarin, it’s simply citrusy. The incense combines a bit, but in my case, I notice it lightly; the fig leaf is moderately noticeable, and it’s quite woody with the cedar. In my opinion, it’s not a bad aroma, not entirely bad, but I see it as simple and vulgar for what it costs; I don’t pay anything for this. Moreover, I hate the fig leaf note and fig in perfumes, although it doesn’t stand out much here. There are many better ones from the Boss house; to be the Parfum version, it’s disappointing. As for longevity, it’s normal. I wouldn’t recommend it; it’s a daily perfume without more, nothing stands out or enchants, and I doubt anyone thinks much of it. Don’t buy blindly, or you’ll get a terrible rip-off. My rating for this Boss Parfum: Aroma 4, I don’t even give it a pass; it neither fulfils nor stands out. Longevity 6, not bad, although spraying more than 12 projects little more than close to the skin. Projection 4, and being very generous, the truth is it doesn’t project a damn thing. Price 3, for what it offers, an extremely poor value for money. You decide, logically everyone has their tastes.

If you read reviews saying it doesn’t last or project, don’t believe them! I was afraid to buy it because of that, but I decided to try. The scent is 100% masculine; if I could recall it slightly, it reminds me of Bulgari Man in Black, but they aren’t the same. It opens citrusy, but that citrus is controlled by the incense and a sweet touch. Be careful, don’t be alarmed; it’s not a sweet like One Million. It’s a pleasant sweet that mixed with the mandarin, woods, and smoky scent smells spectacular. To be honest: the first few times I noticed it didn’t last long and projected little; I don’t know if it’s real whether letting it mature and oxygenate helps. Three months after buying it, I noticed very well that it projects quite a bit and lasts over 8 hours. I have winter jackets that I used it with, and they still smell. Perhaps it’s true that it needs oxygenating. I don’t see it for young people; it’s a mature scent, but not a 90s gentleman’s smell. I’d say for 27 years and up. I preferably use it in cold weather.

  • theayrton

A fragrance that screams ‘man’. At first, it smells sweet and fresh, but in minutes, it shows its mysterious side. To me, it seems strong and invasive; I usually wear it at night, in fresh or cold weather. Don’t use it in summer or on hot nights. The trail is noticeable, and a lot so; in enclosed spaces, it can overwhelm. Longevity is excellent, over 5 hours feeling it all the time, then it drops but remains very present. I would buy it again only if I find a good price, as it’s usually expensive in Argentina. I paid for a set at around $200, saw it drop to even less than $150. I wouldn’t pay more, although this isn’t an Arabic fragrance (and some cost more).

  • I loved it! I haven’t felt that scent in a Hugo Boss in ages; I’m not a big fan of powdery notes, but here they combine brilliantly. I recommend it for events and formal dates. Longevity: 6 hours.

  • Interesting and characterful. It smells like a mature man and seeks impact. If you have a refined sense of smell, you’ll notice the cedar, that classic wood from ‘mortgage-paid’ perfumes or older people; a cured leather but without being intrusive, and that fig note that reminds one of other commercial scents like D&G K EDP or Kenzo EDT Intense, although here it stands on its own. Longevity and trail exceed the average, and I see it as excellent in semi-formal or work environments. Don’t buy it blindly because the blend doesn’t suit everyone, but give it a chance. I liked it; it’s a traditional woody with that semi-sweet herbal fig touch plus leather, ideal for a man over 30 who wants to smell different. P.S.: It betrayed me with memories of Montblanc Emblem and the Kenzo I mentioned; draw your own conclusions 🤝

  • One of the most boring, tiresome, and uninteresting perfumes from Hugo Boss in recent times. It’s not a retro fougère, not an interesting mature-man woody, not a wealthy-gentleman vetiver, not an attractive neo-gothic incense, not a gentlemanly Dior-style iris, nor an alpha-male leather. What on earth is this? It doesn’t smell bad, but it falls into the category of old-school woody, topical incense accords that are slightly powdery, and in the end, it’s neither one nor the other. It has some resemblance to Z&V This is Him! EDT, another tiresome fragrance with absurd hype, to some obscure Issey Miyake scent I don’t even want to remember, and its cousin The Scent Intense from the same Hugo Boss house, but without the charm of its sweetness or its soft, elegant smoothness that make that BB Parfum better. It lasts about 6-7 hours but drops significantly after the 2nd-3rd hour, and in my case, it projects little. It’s more expensive than The Scent Intense or the regular version, which I don’t understand. Any satisfaction? Not even from your mother who loves you so much. I bought it blindly, dizzy from reading insane comments from social media influencers, with excitement, attracted by its all-black bottle, looking for a mature, nocturnal, ‘dark’ aroma for autumn-winter, and finally, because it was too boring, I gave it to a friend who said he liked the smell. There are tastes for everything. The Boss Bottled Elixir or the Boss Bottled Absolu kick this BB Parfum’s arse. If they discontinue it, there won’t be any protests in front of HB stores worldwide. Perfumed regards.

  • A woody aroma that, unlike what I’ve heard, I wouldn’t consider dark. Its opening is somewhat citrusy and sparkling, and almost from the start, you can perceive a slightly sweet smoky touch, which is the incense, but it’s not overly potent or anything like an ecclesiastical incense. Shortly after, the combination of iris and fig appears, giving it this herbal yet creamy character, which I find very pleasant. However, what is perceived finally and for the majority of the perfume is cedar and more cedar, along with an inoffensive leather note, which doesn’t say much to me, to be honest. I see it as a masculine aroma, semi-formal, and more suitable for temperate to cold climates. Longevity is acceptable (around 5-6 hours) with scarce projection and trail. It’s not bad, but nothing extraordinary.

  • A woody fragrance for cold climates. It doesn’t tell me much. It comes out very rich, then the scent transforms into something woody. Perhaps it reminds me of Oud perfumes, and although it’s not listed, it passes perfectly as a similar one, with that burnt leather note remaining at the end. It smells good but nothing extraordinary. A 6.5 out of 10.

  • Every time I wear it, my girlfriend always identifies it and tells me how good it smells. It’s a good perfume; I’m sure everyone will like it. It’s geared towards autumn and winter, suitable for both day and night. It’s elegant, so I see it more for when you’re dressed up, whether for work events or leisure, but not for normal days. However, it could be your daily wear in cold seasons without issue. It’s not a special perfume, but you do feel it’s the ‘perfect finishing touch’ to your outfit, giving you a boost of confidence. As for performance, that’s the part I like least. With about 15 sprays, you’ll project for at most 2-3 hours, and the scent will linger close to the skin for around 6 hours. It also doesn’t last long on clothes; it’s a soft scent. I’d give it a 7/10. It smells very well and costs a mid-range price (€60-70 for 100ml), but the performance leaves something to be desired.

  • Alexis99r

A perfume that is, by definition, good. It smells elegant and is perfect for evenings, formal events, or special occasions, especially in cold weather or on chilly nights. Regarding longevity, I’d say it’s mid-range, lasting about 6-7 hours, which is fine. It doesn’t smell bad to me, and since it’s from the Bottled line, it’s my favourite.
