Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir by Hugo Boss is a men's fragrance from the olfactive family. Launched in 2024, this composition was created by Annick Menardo and Suzy Le Helley. Its olfactive pyramid unfolds with a top note of violet leaves, giving way to a heart of vetiver, and settles on a base of patchouli leaves.

  • With the ban on elixirs lifted, let’s demand that their price be justified by their utility. This is the third male Elixir from Hugo Boss, and the previous one, The Scent Elixir, made no sense. With Triumph Elixir, they’ve had the decency to stay close to Boss Bottled Parfum, which I like for crossing from fresh to balsamic without anything breaking. Boss Bottled Elixir has a warm, spiced base that returns here, although it’s covered up by the powdery violet. The best thing is that Annick Menardo has returned. The bad thing might be that the commercial artefact masks an interesting aroma; were it not for that marketing strategy with clichéd terms like ‘Elixir’ and multiplying flankers until satiety, we’d be talking about a fragrance with a real hook.

  • With so many elixirs coming out, we must demand that their price be justified. This is the third male Elixir from Hugo Boss, and the previous one, The Scent Elixir, made no sense. With Triumph, they’ve got it right by staying close to Boss Bottled Parfum, which I like for moving from fresh to balsamic without losing the essence. Boss Bottled Elixir has that warm, spiced base that returns here, although it overlaps with the powder of the violets. The best thing is that Annick Menardo has returned. The bad thing might be that the marketing masks an interesting aroma; were it not for using clichéd terms like ‘elixir’ and multiplying the flankers, we’d be facing a fragrance with a real hook.

  • I haven’t tried it yet, but the previous BB Elixir is a cracking fragrance, smells great, and is the one that performs best on my skin (even though it’s complicated). I’m a fan of The Scent, which smells good but fails on longevity, until this Elixir arrived, which lasts all day, although the scent isn’t to my taste: I gave one to my partner, and it lasts twice as long on them, and they love it; I don’t understand why people say it doesn’t last long. The pepper note makes my stomach turn along with the sweet fruity notes, just like with Kajal Mass (they share something). This Triumph Elixir promises if it resembles the previous one, and being a fan of patchouli, I know I’ll love it, especially with my favourite perfumer behind it. I have an affection for this line and collect them.

Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir is a woody, earthy fragrance. Seeing the ads with footballers, I imagined something youthful and highly appealing, but upon testing it, I realised it isn’t. The opening is light and fresh, perhaps with a hint of citrus or herb, but within five minutes it turns woody and earthy, featuring a potent patchouli and some vetiver. The scent is clearly masculine and, in my view, ideal for mature adults, though it doesn’t prevent younger people from trying it. After two hours, a touch of sweetness appears, like woody vanilla with a nutty note, but it never becomes overly sweet, maintaining this character throughout its evolution. I see it as a formal-style fragrance, perfect for special occasions such as graduations, weddings, or night outs, thanks to its strong woody accords. That’s why I don’t see it for daily use, although some might enjoy it, but this is just my opinion. As for longevity, it was excellent, lasting over twelve hours, with a notable trail for the first three hours. It shares certain similarities with Bottled Elixir in its handling of woods, but it is less smoky, ambered, and sweet. If you’ve tried Bottled Elixir and liked it, I invite you to try Triumph; you’ll surely love it too.

Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir smells of wood and earth. Seeing the ads with footballers, I thought it would be a mass-appeal, youthful aroma, but upon testing it, it wasn’t. The opening is fresh and light, perhaps with something citrusy or herbal, but within 5 minutes it becomes wood and earth, with strong patchouli and some vetiver. It’s 100% masculine and, in my opinion, for a mature adult, although young people can try it. After two hours, a sweet touch appears, like woody vanilla, but it never becomes sweet, so it maintains this until the end. I think it’s ideal for special occasions like graduations, weddings, or night outs due to those strong woody accords; I don’t see it for daily use, although some might like it. Longevity was excellent, over 12 hours, with a notable trail for the first 3. It has similarities with Bottled Elixir in the wood, but it’s less smoky, ambered, and sweet. If you like Bottled Elixir, try this Triumph; you’ll surely love it too.

Since it’s almost impossible to test it in-store, I’ve visited several Corte Inglés outlets without finding it anywhere; I only feared it might be a copy of the regular Elixir Sauvage, as all brands capitalise on hype to release replicas, and if that were the case, I wouldn’t have bought it. After ordering it online after failing to find it in any physical store, I must say, thank goodness, it doesn’t smell like the regular Elixir. The violet gives a fresh touch at the start, while the sandalwood adds a very rich creaminess, and as the saying goes, less is more: with so few notes, they’ve created an incredible perfume. Good aroma, good longevity, trail, and projection; I’ve loved it, they’ve nailed it; for me, it’s a 10 out of 10.

I tested it in a perfumery; I own the Boss Elixir and this new one is very similar in certain notes. I wouldn’t buy it because it smells just like the Elixir, though it does smell quite good. Given the price, one has to think twice, as it’s not cheap.

Excellent aroma. It starts a bit fresh with that violet leaf note and then turns into an ambered, woody perfume, closing with a very elegant and rich patchouli. I didn’t have high expectations and it ended up pleasing me; it’s a fragrance for men who have arrived.

  • PerfuadictMX

Excellent aroma: fresh opening with that violet leaf, then turns ambered and woody, closing with a very elegant and rich pachuli. I had no high expectations but ended up liking it; it’s a perfume for proper grown-up men.

This Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir is exquisite. Based on my experience, let me tell you: I absolutely adore it. Today I tested both the Bottled Elixir and this one; both are very good. I loved the Elixir for its incense note, but this Triumph surprised and captivated me: it’s one of those scents that evoke a landscape. It reminds me of a field wet at night or a rainy, grey day. The violet leaf is what gives it that ‘petricor’ vibe depending on how you combine it (like Narciso Rodriguez for Him EDT). It smells elegant, masculine, and rich, causing no unease (though if you’re the type to wear trendy scents to please others, this won’t work for you). Performance? Lasts eight hours on skin. Projection is curious: seems soft at first, but gains intensity after a while and stays moderate for four hours. Occasions? Rainy days, wear it at night, and dress well because it radiates elegance.

I love it. It’s a fragrance with a lot of personality that screams seriousness and professionalism, but also warmth and confidence, so I don’t see it as youthful at all. It sounds like a blend of Boss Bottled Elixir, Guerlain L’Instant, and Dior Fahrenheit, but with its own character. Totally recommended for men aged 30 and above.

This HUGO BOSS BOTTLED TRIUMPH ELIXIR is exquisite. I love it. I tested it alongside the Bottled Elixir, and both are very good; I liked the Elixir for the incense, but this Triumph surprised me by capturing me. It evokes a landscape, like a field wet by night or a rainy, grey day. The violet leaf gives it that ‘petricor’ smell, elegant, masculine, and rich, without causing unease (although if you’re looking for fashion perfumes to please everyone, this isn’t for you). Performance? It lasted 8 hours on skin. The projection is curious: at first it seems soft, but then it gains intensity and stays moderate for 4 hours. When to use it? Rainy days, better at night and with good clothes, as it radiates elegance.

I love it. It’s a fragrance with strong personality that sends a clear message of seriousness and professionalism, yet also warmth and confidence, so I don’t see it as youthful at all. It reminds me of a blend between Boss Bottled Elixir, Guerlain L’Instant, and Dior Fahrenheit, but with its own character. Totally recommended for men aged 30 and up.

  • Same base as the regular Elixir, but without incense and with some violet. To my taste, it’s less sharp than the original, which is why I prefer it, though it doesn’t quite enchant me. By the way, the box lists these notes: vetiver, pachuli, and labdanum.

  • I tested the regular Elixir and this Triumph side by side. Triumph won hands down. It lacks the incense note of the regular version, which I prefer; it’s purely woody when dry, slightly earthy and green. Very pleasant aroma with beastly longevity. I applied it at 2pm and it lasted all afternoon and night, still detectable close to the skin the next morning. It projected strongly for about four hours. Totally recommended, except for the inflated price. Currently on sale in Chile rn: 100 usd for 100ml, while the regular sells for 170 usd.

  • carloslainezd

Very similar to the Elixir; the key difference is the violet. Owning both feels redundant. Beware of reviewers claiming it’s fresher: yes, it is, but it’s not for spring or summer. It’s excellent for aroma and longevity, though not made to please and attract compliments. It reminded me of Guerlain L’Instant and the current M7 by YSL, though I prefer the latter.

  • Fabulous and perfect. It conveys masculinity, formality, and maturity. Pleasant, earthy, woody, green, and ambered, with a pachuli that isn’t sweet but leans towards cocoa. Heavy notes well balanced, niche aroma, and original. Smells great on skin and exquisite in the air. A real joy to wear and I own nothing similar. Ideal for autumn, winter, cool spring nights, or fresh weather. Requires a sharp outfit. Lasts eight hours without issues, staying in your bubble without bothering anyone. Perfect for daily wear, work, or dinners. Good for learning to distinguish pachuli and vetiver. Edit: after three months, I like it more every day. New edit: I’ve used a third of my 50ml bottle and I’m already craving another; couldn’t resist buying a 100ml refill.

  • aarroyo73

I’ve worn it for a year and it’s one of HB’s best: dry, earthy, and masculine, projecting real personality. It lasts long and has a nice trail. I’m glad I chose it over the regular Elixir, which I also liked. It’s one of the most formal in my collection; highly recommended.

  • Photobeparfum

It opens like freshly cut cake; if you crave herbal and natural scents, this is a total hit, especially if you’re a pachuli fan 🍃
