Boss The Scent Elixir For Her by Hugo Boss

Beautiful scent; I was certain it carried cherry even though it wasn’t listed. It starts strong with tart cherry, white flowers, and a sharp jasmine that reminds me of cherry and almond blends. It stings the nose slightly, surely due to the pepper. Then the acidity fades, giving way to sweetness from ambroxan, tonka bean, vanilla, woods, amber, and perhaps a touch of patchouli. Finally, the ambroxan mellows, leaving a warm sensation that is both fruity and amber-like. I see this as an autumn-winter scent: sexy, elegant, and perfect for evening wear. It reminded me of something I’ve tried before: the cherry notes took me straight to Avon’s Far Away Beyond the Moon, even when mixed with their Attraction Desire for women. Those who have tried them will understand.

The first spray brought Amor Amor by Cacharel to mind. Within minutes, it felt like biting into a freshly perfumed cherry lollipop reminiscent of L’Interdit Rouge Ultimate. However, one of my favourite winter night perfumes is Pure XS. It was inevitable to find similarities given so many shared notes. The common notes between Hugo Boss The Scent Elixir For Her and Paco Rabanne Pure XS are: vanilla, musk, patchouli, jasmine, orange blossom, rose, orchid, tonka, sandalwood, amber, almonds, bergamot, pear, praline, caramel, honey, and coconut. What are the differences? The Scent Elixir features dark chocolate, coffee, mandarin, and gardenia. Pure XS includes ylang-ylang, amberwood, peach, and cedar. The Scent Elixir has dark chocolate and gardenia but lacks the neroli found in Interdit Rouge Ultimate. A delight whichever one you choose. Gardenia is also present in Scandal and Crystal Noir. And in the same praline and caramel line as The Scent Elixir and Pure XS, we have Tous Emerald (the green one). If you like this perfume, The Scent Elixir, you might enjoy other coffee-based scents such as The Only One, Intense Café, Black Opium Over Red, Good Girl, and La Nuit Tresor.

Sexy, intense and nocturnal fragrance 👠. It’s a sweet fruity scent but not innocent, super enveloping and sensual, very suitable for dates, evening events and occasions where you want to feel a ‘She-Wolf’ and hypnotise with your aroma ❤️🔥. In the dry down, a floral note emerges, probably belladonna. It gives me vibes of Ariana Grande’s ‘Dangerous Woman’; the scent goes in that direction 😉. Regarding the comparison with Pure XS, it might resemble the first version, but I have the reformulated one and this bears no resemblance to it. If you like sweet and intense perfumes, give it a try; the longevity is also very good 👏

It’s unusual; neither fruity nor floral. Its extreme longevity is worth noting; a citrusy pink pepper with a somewhat mossy character emerges. It contains belladonna, which was used in antiquity as a poison; even Cleopatra considered using it for suicide by testing it on a slave to gauge its speed. Afterwards, it was used in cosmetics since it irritated the skin, making it suitable as a blush, and in the eyes to dilate the pupil to appear more beautiful. To summarise, call me silly, but all this gives me the creeps, and I also detect a significant amount of undeclared ambroxan, which smells half-citrusy and salty. I understand why it is compared to Paradoxe Intense, although they are not the same; I prefer the latter, but they are redundant scents.

The notes are fabricated. I agree with Isa Ramírez: it smells like Pure XS, with that nutty touch reminiscent of the popcorn in that fragrance. It has something that smells… 🌿. I prefer the Paco Rabanne one; it feels intense, and the word ‘Elixir’ fits well. I don’t detect the neroli from Interdit; I don’t understand those ratings.
