Love by Chloé

For me, it’s a dream come true: finding it sealed right in the middle of 2025. A risk I took that was worth it; the fragrance is in perfect condition. It’s floral, talc-heavy, clean and refined. At first, there’s a green note that turns slightly bitter due to the African orange. In the heart, lilacs and iris make it talc-heavy, softened by hyacinth and heliotrope. As it dries, it smells like fine soap or elegant incense, something I find fascinating. It’s intense, projects well and leaves a trail, though it fades considerably once it settles. The bottle is sophisticated, a feminine flask from the 70s that evokes a determined, elegant and vintage woman. I agree with the previous reviewer: it’s similar to Gucci Guilty Pour Femme; they share notes and the Gucci bottle seems inspired by this one. It could be a perfect substitute, in a more modern version.

A talc-heavy floral from head to toe. I’ve realised I’m absolutely obsessed with lilac and violet flowers, iris… For me, it’s an autumnal/winter floral; it’s not sweet at all, it has a beautiful talc note and I see it as perfect for these winter days when you feel heavy and don’t want something sweet or overwhelming. People who say it smells like an old lady, well, I don’t know what old ladies they’ve met; there are perfumes that are currently all the rage and smell much more stale than this. I’m 25 years old and it smells to me like a good girl, elegant and zero intrusive; the more I smell it, the more I like it. I had a sample of the original, tried the Divain version and pff, it falls halfway, it seems like a watered-down version of the original. A YouTuber recommends the Tertia Sensu one, says they’re identical; when I buy it, I’ll edit this to say if it’s faithful or not.

There are few things in perfumery that seem more ordinary to me than saying a perfume ‘smells like an old lady’. It’s rude to older people (never said positively) and shows a lack of vocabulary. If by that they mean Love Chloé has vintage airs… well, yes, it does. No wonder they discontinued it; I doubt it was a bestseller. It’s not a perfume to mass-produce. Personally, it would be my signature if it weren’t discontinued. I love it, but I don’t think I’d pay £200 for a 30 ml bottle. That’s where we could have gone. So I treasure my little 50 ml bottle, using it only on very special occasions. I’ve tried the Pull and Bear copy, of course, but it doesn’t smell the same nor does it have the same quality. It’s a perfect bouquet of purple flowers covered in rice powder. It’s sweet, possibly cloying in very hot climates. It lasts a long time and projects quite a bit. When I wear it, I feel calm. I enjoy it while it lasts, but I don’t doubt I’ll miss it when it runs out.

Beautiful subtlety of pink pepper and talc-heavy, elegant purple flowers. As always, the pink pepper-currant combination with violets works brilliantly. A spontaneous and natural elegance. An aroma that reminds me of makeup 💄 but light and oxygenated. Many of us miss it greatly 🙂 I admit that from this house, the ateliers de fleurs or the Chloé variants work better for me than the original itself, which, being beautiful, perhaps seems simpler to me than the others.

Another day I felt like a lottery winner after spotting a 50ml bottle at a local chemist. My sister had one years ago and adored it, just like violets, my favourite flower, though lately they make me gag; that violet powder really upsets my stomach. There are too many purple flowers for my taste, although I admit it smells elegant, refined and mature, with that powdery sweetness that feels a bit overwhelming. The longevity and trail are top-notch. I’ll have to part with it; someone else will surely enjoy it more, especially since it’s discontinued and a real pain to find.

At the Sensu house in Spain they have an identical clone, truly identical! It took me ages to find something similar worth the effort, and finally I’ve got it. Chloe Love is my perfume, I am it, it is my scent. It’s a wonder. Here’s the reference for the Sensu clone: Item M71TSCLL.

I didn’t like florals; I preferred woody, musky, earthy, powdery scents… you get the idea. Or so I thought, because I’ve tried a few and absolutely loved them. This one surprised me hugely; I’m obsessed with the original, that little-known fragrance which was a challenge for me. Since it was listed as musky, I bought it and it was a brilliant surprise. A delight, I’ll definitely repurchase.

This review is a declaration of love to this beautiful perfume. Once settled, the scent is a balm of tranquillity, purity and cleanliness that stays in your olfactory memory forever. It is one of the tenderest I’ve tried. I love its floral opening and how it settles with that wonderful dusting of talc and musk. It smells clean, undoubtedly, but never like neutral soap as many say. It’s a delicate, fine floral scent with great longevity. Adaptable to any age and occasion, it never clashes because, although potent, it’s not intrusive. Wonderful, I never get tired of smelling it.

I bought it blindly for my mother because she likes powdery scents and the reviews here were good. However, after trying it I regret it and only hope it doesn’t seem so cloying and outdated to her as it does to me. It doesn’t smell like lipstick to me, but rather like cosmetic powders from Oriental woods.

I fell irremediably in love after a colleague gave me a sample she disliked in March-April 2011. I couldn’t buy it due to the price; I only used testers. It hurt when it was discontinued… A great love was lost and I couldn’t have it. Now, with more financial freedom, I decided to buy it online. Today I fell into its soft mist: it embraces me, envelops me, and lifts me to the clouds. Just on my wrists, I’m overwhelmed by its pure aroma. I know it’s not social for me; at 26, I’m not the typical profile. Nevertheless, my love is inevitable. I’ve fallen into its arms and hope to stay there for a long time. Talc, powder, lilacs, violets… Intense without being heavy. What do they say about smelling like grandma? I’ll be a young, original grandma who smells like delights.

It is a fresh, powdery fragrance with that touch of old make-up and plenty of lilac. It reminds me so much of the scent of typical violet sweets.

It is the best perfume I have ever used. I am obsessed. It smells clean, feminine, and sensual without being cloying. You can wear it all the time and everyone will say you smell wonderful. It is original, and I hope it never disappears.

A very abundant and sweet powder of bergamot with a musk base. I didn’t detect any pepper, but rather scenes from an old dressing room, women with high buns and heavy skirts. It is refined, delicate, and very feminine. For Chloé, love is soft, powdery, and delicately penetrating.

In an attempt to reconcile, I decided to wear it to work and it was a mistake. I still can’t stand it; we simply don’t suit each other. However, I must highlight its incredible longevity: I applied it yesterday at 8 am, and today, before my shower, I could still smell it as faint whispers. If you like it, you are lucky; the quality is outstanding.
