Nomade by Chloé is a floral chypre fragrance for women. Launched in 2018, it was created by perfumer Quentin Bisch. The olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of mirabelle plum, bergamot, lemon and orange; a floral and fruity heart composed of freesia, peach, jasmine and rose; and a woody, sensual base that reveals oakmoss, patchouli, amberwood, white musk and sandalwood.

I was looking for an ideal perfume for my summer beach holidays and couldn’t find anything that conveyed that sense of freedom… until I came across Nomade. It’s very special to me because it represents my first holidays alone in another continent. The first thing I liked was the name: NOMADE. I thought it represented me, then the bottle caught my eye for its elegance and simplicity. The fragrance is clean and fresh, conveying freedom and energy. Vibrant, with a citrus opening but a sweet middle and woody base. A beautiful fragrance. Completely recommended for warm days.

I tried Nomade in the perfumery, so I don’t have much experience to comment on longevity or sillage. I had preconceived ideas from the reviews, not all positive, as I imagined it to be very sweet. To me, Nomade has been a hit. I see it more as a fruity chypre than floral, but it has a fresh and cheerful note. Dry, leaning masculine due to the sandalwood, which makes it dry yet not oppressive for summer. It might be dispensable; I don’t think it will make history, but it deserves a try. I can imagine it with comfortable clothes, suede or leather jackets, flat shoes, and a leather backpack.

  • It reminds me of flowers in spring, but it has a fruity and sweet touch that is lovely. It’s elegant, though it doesn’t have much longevity, at least on my skin.

  • On my skin, it’s dry and woody. I tried it, but it doesn’t suit my skin; it comes across as excessively masculine… like an aftershave. What a pity!

  • Exactly as the notes describe: citrus, floral, earthy, and woody. Mature and perfect for summer. I gave it to my mother as I don’t like patchouli, oakmoss, or rose. However, I don’t detest the scent; it has personality. If you like it, it will suit you perfectly.

  • I like the scent, though I find it very masculine; it smells of a man’s perfume, especially at first. Once it dries down, I like it more, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • Imagine walking into the private room of a mature couple and opening the drawer of the woman’s fine lingerie over a luxurious jewellery box… that’s what Nomade smells like. Its aroma contradicts the intrepid spirit of the advert, or perhaps it’s a woman whose adventure is finding a new lover. Not recommended for dreamers à la Madame Bovary, or for those who, fed up with their partner, pack their bags and leave without a note.

  • I fell in love at first sniff; I tried it and bought it straight away. I enjoyed it immensely during that summer… it is indeed citrusy, earthy, and far from the masculine vibe I’d read about; it seems quite feminine to me. An interesting chypre for daily wear with good projection and longevity. However, after two or three months, I got bored… I forced myself to finish it because I didn’t want to keep it and wouldn’t consider buying it again. I don’t know what happened, but it lost its charm quickly. I’m keen to try the Absolu version…

  • Very original and good. It’s an oriental scent with excellent marketing. It gives me a feeling of travelling to the desert, whether alone or with friends to get to know each other better; it’s very exotic. To me, it smells of dates. Ideal for the shoulder seasons, suitable for both night and day wear. Good longevity and sillage. Original and special.

  • It smells of soft citrus, plenty of patchouli, fresh jasmine, and a woody base. I don’t detect any oakmoss at all. It sits somewhere between floral-fruity and chypre, though it doesn’t smell like chypre to me.

  • The day I bought it, I did a test of six perfumes, including this one. I was deciding between a flanker of Mon Guerlain, a Chanel, and others. Of all, the most original was Nomade, the one that stood out the most. The others were pleasant, but I think this one adds style and makes the difference. It adds a different ‘edgy’ style to the typical floral or gourmand. Ideal for daily wear. Good longevity, moderate projection. It’s a very good perfume, but you should try it first.

  • It’s my favourite… I define it as ME in a bottle… That’s my scent, literally Me. We met at Macy’s when I bought perfume for my mother-in-law; they gave me three samples that I loved and used until the last drop. When they ran out, I knew I needed it, that it was my scent, and I wasn’t at peace until I bought it. There I knew I really loved it. I don’t use it daily, but if I did, I wouldn’t get tired of it. It’s rich, fruity, floral… it has everything.

  • It evolves beautifully. It starts potent and intense, with skin/leather tones, and passes to a tinkling floral very well accompanied. It reminds me of Gucci Rush, but in my opinion, this is better executed. It’s more complex and subtle. Very rich in notes, full of contrasts. Chypre-floral-elegant-warm. Chapeau!

  • They say the most beautiful thing about a woman is her masculine trait. Nomade represents that. Although at first the woody and foresty notes stand out, on my skin it evolves so that the peach and freesia take the lead, without losing the background moss and woods, giving just the right sweetness. The ads show adventurous women (and the name indicates it), but for me it doesn’t smell like adventure; it’s perfect for interviews. It’s not serious, but less for the one riding in the desert and more for the one dreaming of divorcing and travelling far away. It’s very versatile: I wear it at university and at formal and informal events (although it can be mature for some). I don’t like it much in winter; I have to put it on clothes because I don’t have exposed skin and there it smells more masculine. Ideal for the in-between seasons, works day and night. Lasts all day on skin, although I’m not sure if the trail is intimate or it’s the masks; I notice it a lot but others don’t.

A couple of years ago, not knowing much about fragrances, I was just trying things at random and sometimes it went wrong. This was one of the worst. Today I tried it again: my sense of smell hasn’t changed, I still detest it, but now I’ve identified the problem: OAKMOSS. It sticks like glue. I like the opening with plum, citrus, and woods, but then I notice flowers and the moss. It smells like wet earth with algae, mould, and aftershave. It’s a penetrating masculine scent that makes my stomach turn, repulsive 🤮. The Chloé line is particular, for women with a lot of personality. The diversity of scents is great, although not for me. 👏

  • I like it very much, even more than its EDT version, which is different. Both are on my wishlist. Nomade is fruity and super different from the usual: less simple and sugary, more character and personality, unique, without losing freshness. It gives me the vibe of Zara’s ‘Bergamot & Leather Spritz’, which I love, without being the same. Both are fruity with potent bases: in Zara it’s leather, here it’s oakmoss. Both are unisex. I love the plum opening, one of my favourite notes, with juicy citrus. Then the heart stays fruity, sweet but restrained, with moss and an earthy vibe. Moderate trail; lasts 9-10 hours on skin, less on clothes. I see it as original, perfect for any season, and very versatile. Scent 8/10, Longevity 9.5/10, Trail 6.5/10, Value for money 7.5/10, Versatility 8/10. Would I buy it again? I haven’t bought it.

  • I found it in Madrid and fell in love with the scent: fresh, sweet, woody. It’s distinguished, elegant, and versatile, suitable for daily wear or events. It represents an empowered yet feminine woman. The packaging is minimalist; I love the leather strap, it looks like a glass canteen, elegantly outdoor. Moderate longevity; I receive many compliments. A hit by Quentin Bisch.

I don’t know what’s going on with my pH, although I see reviews saying ‘wow, it works for them’, but on me it smells like my grandmother bathed in talcum powder. It has too much potency and the patchouli is so strong it gives me a headache instantly. Good thing I only have a sample, though I’ll pass on it. I’m not saying it’s ugly; my nose just can’t tolerate it, but the trail and potency are good. I’m not sure about the longevity as I only used it once and applied a little; instinctively, I didn’t want to wear it as a normal perfume.

  • charlotinable

My friend brought it back from Europe after visiting Mexico, and it’s elegant with a wonderful radiance. It smells clean, neat, and distinguished. On my skin, the musky rose and a faint jasmine with shy freesia settle over citrus notes that evoke sun on rain, very energising. However, the pity is that it doesn’t last at all; a good fart leaves more of a trail than this fragrance, which sticks to the skin and not even on clothes. What a shame; it’s expensive and disappointing: ‘Don’t you f*** with me, seriously?’. The bottle is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, gorgeous, but the liquid disappoints.

  • It’s the most original in my collection; I wear it to smell different and project confidence and mystery. It starts citrusy (lemon, plum, peach) but quickly gains an earthy, woody base with a ‘masculine’ touch that doesn’t detract from its freshness. It’s elegant. The body cream isn’t expensive and lasts much longer if used with it. It also works brilliantly layered with the new Naturelle; the blend is delicious. I’ll always keep it.

  • It reminds me a lot of Armaf Club de Nuit and Coco Mademoiselle. If you have either of those, you don’t need Chloe Nomade; the scent is very feminine 💕

  • karlaberg_

It’s bold, fresh, elegant, and distinct. Although it says mirabelle, citrus, and peach, my nose detects green guava, juicy and sweet, over a clean musk. Delicious! I received it as a gift and will definitely buy another before it runs out; it’s worth it for the freshness, simplicity, and elegance.

  • Gemasevilla

Original and with a creamy-leather finish (though not listed in the pyramid). On me, it’s perceived with movement. In the end, I feel it’s unisex due to that bitter, damp note that gives it character. Although it’s fresh, it has body and is memorable. It’s unmistakable.

  • I find it interesting due to the oakmoss: notes of riverbank forest, wet earth, and green trunks. It’s rough yet penetrating. I liked its evolution in perfumery. It vaguely reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle thanks to the patchouli, but this one is warm and woody, without sweetness. It lasts about 7 hours. Very appropriate for the office without over-spraying. The bottle is lovely: soft, sturdy glass with a leather band and nice lines.

  • I like it; it’s intense and long-lasting. Amber, floral, and earthy, with a honey base that sweetens the blend. Ideal for daily wear, to smell clean and tidy. I imagine it on a girl in a dusty pink dress, put-together, strolling through the city in the morning.

  • VainillaDulce

There’s nothing new here, nothing to break the mould, but I adore Nomade. It’s classy and versatile, perfect for almost anything. It might feel out of place for younger girls, but it suits women aged 25+ phenomenally. Chloe is a safe bet: it opens with juicy, acidic, citrusy yellow plum, then fresh fuchsias and intense white roses emerge, with a hint of peach, closing with oakmoss, patchouli, musk, and sandalwood. It’s a modern chypre that projects a woman with clear goals and strong personality; nothing sweet or girly, there’s strength here. It lasts 7-8 hours with a moderate trail.

  • Irene Torres

I love it; it’s my favourite. Elegant, classy, modern, and interesting, with incredible longevity on the skin.

  • Pink_bloom

It’s not original; it smells like a chemist’s shop cologne, yet it’s soft and formal thanks to the wood/talc notes, making it ideal for the office. There’s a citrus touch reminiscent of fresh out of the shower, followed by a warm dry-down that gives it a nice spark.

  • BlendParfum

Beautiful perfume. Makes me feel like a hippie girl, in a long light cotton dress, leather sandals, hair braided, feeling free. It has personality but doesn’t intimidate. Simply shows the adventurous and bold side of the wearer. The plum remains over time along with the oakmoss and sandalwood, which appear in its dry down. Excellent longevity on the skin. Ideal for using all year round.

  • Lorenapicazo

I love the super fruity and fresh opening. However, as it dries down, it literally smells like strong men’s deodorant. I don’t know if it’s my skin or if that’s just how it is, but I don’t like it at all. What a pity.

  • I’ve had it for three years… it was a blind purchase guided only by reviews… and the time I used it I didn’t like it much, so I left it in the wardrobe all this time… since it’s hot almost all year in my country, and now after much heat there’s a bit of cold, and bear in mind we’re in winter… I tried it again… and now that I analyse it, I smell the jasmine and bergamot and very little pink orange… on my skin it feels quite powdery… but it’s bearable for cool weather… it’s not an aroma for summer at all, it can be a bit overwhelming… its projection is quite good and its trail moderate… lasts about 6 hours when soft… however, I wouldn’t buy it again…

  • Elenperfume

I like it a lot, but I agree it’s quite common. The citrus opening is very pleasant, and the moss base has a super interesting point with the jasmine, which I normally don’t like but here smells very green. Overall, it seems like a perfume a 25-year-old girl or a 65-year-old woman could wear, giving a ‘down to earth’ vibe, far from the gourmand vanilla scents we’ve been used to lately. I see it for autumn or spring afternoons, where jasmine still has a place; it’s not for polar cold. Ideal for doing something relaxed, being outdoors, having coffee with friends, going shopping or to the museum… Nothing fancy but not formal for work either. I prefer its Egyptian sister.

  • AndreitaClara

A fragrance with a lot of presence, a sweet freshness that leaves a good impression; people often ask me what I’m wearing. It lasts quite a while and has a powerful trail. I’m glad it’s not so popular; I’m surprised that so many people don’t find it original or smell bad when they use the most common and expensive perfumes :S, they’re ordinary.

  • Anjellychee

It’s citrusy and powdery with a sweet touch. I think it suits any occasion, very fresh and light. I have the miniature; it’s pretty but I’m going to give it away.

  • What a fine perfume! Opens citrusy, then smells of plum, and as it dries down, jasmine takes over. Hyper-feminine and delicate! Doesn’t resemble anything else.

  • A citrus, floral and fruity blend that never goes out of style. Simple, clean and delicate. Lasts quite a while. If you like jasmine or pure florals, you’ll surely love it.

  • A unique and intriguing guy, smells different from everything else. At first I’m not sure what it is, but it suits everyone else and they can’t quite place the fragrance. How interesting! Could be my signature scent. Bravo to Chloe!
