There are perfumes that not only smell but speak. And this one does so in a low, enveloping, deeply masculine voice. Roma Uomo Nero Estremo takes the unmistakable DNA of the classic Roma Uomo—that scent of Italian elegance and clean skin fresh from a white shirt—and wraps it in denser, creamier, more intimate shadows. From the very first moment, the citrus and anise top note reminds me of a cold whisper at the nape of the neck, but soon that herbal heart, with lavender and geranium, softens and balances things. It’s not strident, it doesn’t show off. It approaches slowly. And when it reaches you, it has already won you over. What I like most is the sweet-woody base of vanilla, tonka and oakmoss. That’s where its warmth emerges, its nocturnal side, that feeling of being embraced by someone who smells wonderful, without quite knowing exactly what. My only regret? It doesn’t project as it should. It struggles to stay strong on my skin for more than a few hours. I’d wear it as my daily signature without hesitation if it had a bit more bite. Because the scent itself fascinates me. It envelops the senses with elegant discretion. Like a glance that doesn’t need to raise its voice to say everything. In short: a modern, velvety fougère that smells of cleanliness, sophistication and desire. Recommended for those who value subtle detail over flash. Final rating: 8.5/10 (and with a bit more punch, it would touch 10.)
There are perfumes that speak in a low, masculine voice. Roma Uomo Nero Estremo takes the DNA of the classic, that scent of Italian elegance and clean skin, and wraps it in dense, creamy shadows. At first, the citrus and anise top note smells like a cold whisper, but soon the herbal heart with lavender and geranium softens everything. It is not strident; it approaches slowly and when it reaches you, it has already conquered you. The best part is the sweet-woody base of vanilla, tonka and oak moss, where its nocturnal warmth emerges, that feeling of being embraced by someone who smells good. My only gripe is that it does not project as it should; it struggles to stay on my skin with force for more than a few hours. I would wear it as a daily signature if it had more bite, because the aroma fascinates me and envelops me with elegant discretion. In summary: a modern, velvety fougère that smells of cleanliness, sophistication and desire. Recommended for those who value subtle detail. Rating: 8.5/10 (with more power it would touch 10).
Roma Uomo Nero Estremo pays homage to the Italian man, not just in his bearing, but in his philosophy of life. It is a fragrance that encapsulates that cult of aesthetics so intrinsic to Italian culture, where dressing, architecture, art, and gastronomy converge in a single pursuit: beauty as a way of life. This creation does not shout nor impose itself. Rather, it attracts through its silent magnetism, with restrained and elegant sensuality. It evokes the atmosphere of a Roman night: deep and mysterious, yet never gloomy. There is a light shining among the shadows, like an old streetlamp on a cobbled street in Trastevere. It is absolutely cinematic, yet without needing to take centre stage. It is that supporting character who, without speaking, steals the camera’s attention. Although its olfactive lineage clearly harks back to the original Roma Uomo from 1992, Nero Estremo does not live in its shadow. It has its own voice. The heritage is recognisable, yes, but this version is more modern, more seductive, even more carnal. The warm, enveloping spiced vanilla intertwines with a sober, masculine lavender, endowing the composition with a sophisticated, almost magnetic character. There is a precise balance between the classic and the contemporary in it. In technical terms, it is an oriental-aromatic fragrance with a soft projection and good longevity. It is not invasive nor does it aim to be. It is conceived to be enjoyed at close range, almost intimately. Ideal for a candlelit dinner, a stroll under the stars, or any moment where the language of perfume translates into whispers. It is, in short, a fragrance that does not need to raise its voice to be heard. One simply needs to approach. And once it is smelled… one wants to return to it, time and time again. Simply, I love it.
Roma Uomo Nero Estremo pays homage to the Italian man, not just in his style but in his philosophy. It encapsulates that love for aesthetics where fashion, art, and food merge into beauty as a way of life. It does not shout; instead, it attracts through a silent magnetism and elegant sensuality. It evokes a Roman night: deep and mysterious, yet with a light shining between the shadows, like a lamppost in Trastevere. It is cinematic without seeking the centre of the stage, that secondary character who steals the attention without speaking. Although it inherits from the original from 1992, it has its own voice: more modern, seductive and carnal. The spiced vanilla blends with a sober lavender for a sophisticated character. It balances the classic and the contemporary. Technically it is an oriental-aromatic scent, with soft projection and good longevity. It is not invasive, designed to be enjoyed at intimate distances, ideal for dinners or night walks. It does not need to raise its voice; one simply needs to approach, and once you smell it, you want to return. I love it.
It’s pure crack.
It’s simply brilliant.
