Armani Code Parfum by Giorgio Armani

Quite versatile in my opinion, though it leans towards moderately warm climates. It’s super elegant, ideal for a moderately formal meeting in a less open environment.

After a few weeks it became my signature perfume. A fresher opening than expected for a ‘Parfum’, talc-like, with creamy iris, nothing heavy or annoying. The dry-down is spectacular, with tonka taking centre stage. Sexy fragrance suitable for everything, even colleagues have praised it at work. Moderate and discreet projection, not beast mode, but that suits it well. Lasts 8 hours on skin, quite acceptable. In short, it’s one of my best purchases; I already own 30+ perfumes. Rating: 9.7/10.

What can I say about this fragrance… To me, it is literally versatility bottled up. It starts with a super clean citrus note, and after ten minutes, an iris emerges that makes it neat and elegant without losing freshness. Then comes the tonka bean, which here is earthy vanilla, soft and not cloying at all. The cedar adds depth without breaking the clean vibe. In the end, a slightly fresh, talc-infused and woody vanilla scent that is incredible. It’s one of those everyone loves: not invasive, not tiring, and elegant for any occasion (except the gym). Clean, pretty, versatile, and with a special touch. A total hit for everyday wear or smelling good without the hassle. Lasts 6-8 hours with a trail of 4; not beast mode but it delivers.

Subtle and elegant, perfect for not drawing attention but ensuring neatness and seriousness are noticed. In a present where everyone seeks out sweet perfumes, this, without being strong, exudes class and cleanliness. To me, it’s like a slightly sugared lemon, followed by iris with woods and a floral touch. Excellent.

Subtle and elegant scent, far from sweet trends. The minimalist black bottle holds a sophisticated liquid. It opens fresh with acidic bergamot peel, then the dusty, anise-tinted iris from the Code line emerges, darkening with lily root, the sweetness of tonka bean and cedar. Ideal for semi-formal or formal dates, with a sensual and mature touch. Refined and consistent with the original, the iris and cedar dominate. As a Parfum, the fresh opening is slightly confusing regarding performance, which could be greater, but its strength is class, not potency.

Generic scent. I thought the Parfum version brought a different nuance, but it’s the same as always. It’s not a bad perfume, simply not for me.

A faithful homage to that classic from years ago. I’ve been maturing with many perfumes in my collection for years, have a natural nose, and at 31 I know how to appreciate a good scent. I’ve passed through gems in their prime like Aqua Di Gio, 212, Versace and YSL, learning how to use perfume when there was no ‘hype’. Then came Arabian perfumery and trends, which I adapted to. When I was 25, I went out with friends wearing a classic Armani Code while others used fresh scents like Versace. Years later, looking for something similar, I found this gem and bought it blind. It’s a complete gem, a tribute to elegant but fun men. I won’t talk about notes because its spirit speaks for itself. We miss the old Code, but this Parfum is two steps up, better than those days. RIP Giorgio, in his legacy gems like this will always remain. I’ll tell my children.

A good perfume to wear with a shirt and tie is Armani Code Parfum. Tonka, powdery parts of iris and aromatic herbal caresses that stand out at all costs. The bubble and dry-down are supremely pleasant. For men who want to leave a mark for sure.

Marvelous, an iris version closer to Prada than to Dior. Clean, elegant and sophisticated. Everything is good in Code Parfum.

Jose, the Caravan 16 is a clone of the Armani Code, but the EDT, the Parfum version brings other notes and is a more complete and better scent, of course.

How delicious! This Armani proposal is excellent. It’s aromatic with aldehydes that give it that clean character, and together with the iris, they add a very rich powdery and neat touch. It’s a denser reinterpretation of the 2023 EDT; the Parfum is less aggressive, more balanced, with a warm opening that is slightly powdery and an amber base that makes it more mature. While the EDT is popular and youthful, this vibrates more intimately and elegantly. It reminds me a bit of the opening of Gaultier’s Scandal Le Parfum due to that creamy and resinous tonka bean, but here the sweetness is contained; it’s not gourmand, just enveloping. It’s not a copy, but if you’ve tried Scandal, you’ll recognise that controlled warmth. The performance improves vastly over the EDT: constant projection and superior longevity. It settles well in cool climates and is ideal for formal or evening settings. Apart from the original from 2004, it’s the one I recommend most from the line for its quality and modern sophistication.

I love this line; if I had to stick with one brand for life, it would be Armani, this line and the Acqua di Gio are top. This version is super fresh, ideal for daily wear, timeless, masculine, neither too mature nor too youthful. I recommend it highly as a signature. I don’t sense the iris, perhaps because I was expecting something like Dior Homme Intense and nothing alike. If I hadn’t tested it, I wouldn’t be able to identify it.

The Armani Code Parfum has a rich opening of citrus and woody notes that projects an image of a clean office man. When it dries, it smells like vanilla cream or ice cream due to the vanilla and powdery notes. I was disappointed by the longevity, although spraying it more times or using a decant works great. I find it suitable for daily use, the office, work, or study, perfect for enclosed spaces. 6/10.

The commercial men’s line from Armani only has three divisions: Stronger With You, Acqua Di Gio and Armani Code. One wonders why they don’t release new proposals, but Armani is Armani. Their market research is tremendous and all their new flankers are designed to please and become bestsellers. For Armani Code, in 2022 they dared with this proposal, going straight from the classic 90s EDT to the Parfum version, without betting on an EDP that eventually came out in 2024. A total gamble that paid off very well. Smelling this is like being in a pleasant dream, which perhaps doesn’t last as long as you would like, but it is a dream after all. It’s an office fragrance totally versatile, designed to please men and women. You can use it 24/7 at work, on dates, or for daily wear, always keeping in mind that it is for short distances, for a refined and elegant man. The performance improves considerably compared to the EDT without reaching beast mode, but the addition of iris makes it somewhat more unisex. However, when you wear it with a shirt and add your personality, there will be no doubt about your masculine aura wherever you go. My favourite fragrance currently, 10/10. Fully recommended.
