Descripción

Prada Luna Rossa is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. Upon release, lavender and bitter orange deliver a fresh and vibrant first impression. The heart reveals a mentholated blend of mint and helichrysum, imparting freshness and luminosity. Finally, the base settles on a warm and enveloping accord of ambrette musk and ambroxan.

I think they exaggerate when calling it generic, cheap, etc. Luna Rossa is a delicious, light, and pleasant fragrance. I don’t feel it is cheap at all; I liked it immediately after smelling it in the perfumery, and nowadays it is one of my go-to perfumes. I tell you that not a single person has disliked it, even strangers have asked me on the street which perfume I am wearing. Lavender is one of my favourite scents regardless of whether some find it cheap, that is totally relative. That fusion of lavender and orange feels very rich. I recommend it; it is spring-like, summery, autumnal, fresh, clean, and delicious.

  • Warning: hater mode ON. Another perfume I had forgotten about (thank God). I would love for it to suit me like other users, as a priori it would be my style, but that is not the case. I consider this perfume my first major clash with ambroxan. The only thing I notice is a soapy lavender, hyper-mega modernised, almost robotic, plasticky, oily, cloying, too feminine… In summer it even gets worse… I avoid negative reviews, but here I cannot help it. It smells like a catamaran, its plastic fabrics, its engine, and oxidised iron. Sorry. On the positive side, it performs well. Without over-applying, moderate longevity and a heavy trail for the first half hour. In my opinion, all and each of its flankers give it a thousand turns…

  • I like Luna Rossa. It is generic, yes, but it is also said that fragrances with the ambergris/bergamot/grapefruit combo so fashionable today are generic and those upset my stomach. For me, Luna Rossa smells fantastic. You won’t get poetry or philosophical abstractions, but I wish everything sold as sport, relaxed, or casual pleased me as much as this. Here there is lavender, nothing like the dusty or dry lavenders of old formulas; this has hints of aluminium. I don’t know what the bitter orange adds as I don’t detect it, but perhaps the combination with sage and mint gives it that metallic touch I find very interesting. I am surprised not to read reviews highlighting its sea salt smell; every time I try it, that idea comes to me, of a furious sea with rocks oozing salt and waves crashing on a grey, stormy day. Luna Rossa is a soapy aromatic with herbal/metallic touches that recalls the sea without carrying calone and without being an aquatic. Ambroxan, my black beast (smells like illness to me), arrives here distant, already in the dry-down and barely perceptible, just like in its flanker Luna Rossa Carbon. Could it be that the reputation of the house as a risky and artistic company (Amber, the Infusions) is to blame for this perfume being received without enthusiasm? I think so. But I don’t see here a lowering of Prada’s trousers before commercialism, as with the last two launches. This Prada represents the brand’s sport line, they have been developing it since the nineties, and the values sold from that section (grey, zips, technical clothing, and minimal) are perfectly reflected in Luna Rossa. Basic, generic, as sport or adventure clothing can be. However, with a twist, there is something interesting here that distinguishes it from other sport options. I like @Ts6’s appreciation, ‘smells like a catamaran, its plastics and rusted irons…’, I feel something very similar. And that is exactly what makes me like it and see it with more personality than other sport perfumes…

  • Good fragrance for daily use and work because it is soft and non-invasive. However, I prefer the Sport version. It is fresh and soapy, a good option to smell clean, like just showered. I see it as suitable for any time of the year.

  • Super pleasant from the very first moment. It’s a summery, clean, and very welcoming scent. If it didn’t cost €60 for 100ml, I would buy it without hesitation, but I think it’s too expensive for what it is.

It is a very fresh fragrance, so much so that at first it seems like a childish cologne. Once dry, it changes completely and smells like fresh wood. Being so soft, it is perfect for daily use.

  • It smells clean, conveys freshness, and is quite relaxing and original. Fresh opening, like lavender and mint soap. Moderate trail for the first hour. Middle stage clings to the skin without major changes, though the mint becomes more noticeable. Final stage from the fourth hour onwards, a very faint trace but with the same sense of cleanliness as the start, without that initial freshness. Nice bottle and acceptable spray. Perfect for daily use and enclosed spaces, preferably in spring and summer. EDIT: on hot summer days it becomes a bit sticky and the middle-to-final phase ends up looking a bit off. Acquired.

  • It is delicious and original, smelling like Prada’s luxury soaps, but in this case, it’s a youthful luxury, ideal for summer. I received many compliments and enjoyed wearing it at night in summer especially. A great personal pleasure with simple notes used perfectly, just like Prada itself: a simple luxury, yes, a luxury in the end. I can already imagine hordes of haters smelling 212 for men and criticising this perfume.

  • All the declared notes catch my attention. I imagined it would be like that, but wearing it turns out to be a hit. It’s a classic accord, nothing novel, but it blends common notes very successfully and adds touches of distinction compared to other commercial perfumes. The trail is key here: the orange and lavender with that fresh, green, and spicy touch of the trail make you feel clean and jovial. Prada hooks me with most of its fragrances, especially for that soapy and cleansing virtue. On summer nights, it shines as the only option. Highly recommended, along with its ‘Carbon’ version. Long-lasting and with good projection, though you have to dig a bit deep into your pocket to get it. Best regards to all fragrance lovers.

Arrived today and at first I thought it would be a cloying, unsurprising scent, but over time it transforms into something incredible: lavender, orange peel, and a mint reminiscent of chewing gum, all mixed with a metallic wood that gives it an ultra-clean touch. It evokes cotton, old-fashioned colognes, and high-quality creamy soap. In the end, it smells like luxury white soap with a soft yet noticeable trail, like freshly laundered fine clothes. I loved it.

  • Prada ADN… We agree with @Demopop. I’d like to say how good everyone sees it, but I don’t. Does it resemble the other Pradas? Well, it must be the only one inflated in price. Little longevity, poor projection, the start very marked in Ambroxol, from start to finish, I know from the repulsion it gives me in the stomach… The other notes get lost and only a hint of artificial, plastic citrus remains. A 10-dollar perfume in a 50-dollar box… Totally discarded. Note: BEWARE if you get nauseous with Ambroxol, Ambergris, and synthetics; you’re sure this will too. Lately, I question much the ratings in favour of this type of fragrance; I don’t understand it but okay, bye. Thanks and greetings.

This Prada reminds me a lot of Dior Homme Sport and has distant echoes of Aqua di Gio, as if they tried to make that type of fragrance but in another way. It doesn’t smell like the declared notes to me; if anything, a bit of lavender and very diluted mint, I feel it’s very synthetic, which isn’t bad, but when you pay the Prada price, it is. Definitely doesn’t seem anything extraordinary to me; I don’t like it. It could be unisex, and longevity and trail are moderate, though I wouldn’t use it for sport because with heat and sweat it could be intrusive. If you like it, you have a very good, cheap, quality alternative with similar longevity from La Rive Rock. Goodbye.

  • I don’t know why I got so angry with this fragrance when it came out. I don’t know what I expected and it wasn’t it; I developed a grudge against it. The nice thing they said was that it was absurdly generic. I had to delete my previous review. I don’t know at what point I paid more attention and tried to understand what it had to offer (after all, it represents Prada’s sport line, so a matching scent was logical), and it ended up pleasing me, and a lot. It’s an icy plaster of herbs and lavender, tremendously mentholated (which fortunately manages to dispense with that rancid, gummy sweetness that this note sometimes has). Its vapours, icy, like a winter sea, seem to also come from eucalyptus and camphor. It brings aromas of old bar soaps and brush razors, a bare masculinity, without artifice, simple and clean, bordering on sensual. Despite its classic components and evoking traditional memories, it manages to be carefree and modern. It’s what I turn to when I escape from complicated or heavy scents. When I need to refresh and relax between puffs of beautiful simplicity, masculine and bright.

  • For me, it’s no longer worth paying for this. The scent isn’t bad, but it’s generic; there are more sophisticated and striking options. For example, Le Male Parfum is more novel.

  • Normally I don’t write negative reviews because I test before buying, and the ones I buy blind are oriental and play in a different league… here it was a gift and it’s the closest to a scam I’ve had. Little projection, a scent that could come from a 6 or 7 euro perfume at Mercadona, and they sell it to you for 45, terrible longevity… if you like throwing money away, this is a good way to do it.

Let’s see if I get this Prada right. The perfect aroma for Robocop, a cyber-mint that gives pseudo-freshness at the start, but soon the dominant lavender, not classic but sour due to the bitter orange, takes control. At first, it smells good, but then it becomes shrill, sticky, very synthetic, and even congesting. It might work in mild temperatures, but in heat, despite wanting to refresh, it becomes uncomfortable. The performance isn’t standout like most from this house. Ultimately, it’s not a masterpiece; it lacks spark, looks arbitrary, average, and without personality. If you buy Luna Rossa thinking of sailing with the boat’s crew, better imagine you’re walking near the shore with a pedal boat.

  • I don’t understand the criticism; I think we just smell differently, especially regarding the metallic tones which I don’t detect. To me, it’s a marvel, soft, slightly sweet, very pleasant and clean. Almost one of my favourites. I think it’s totally unisex. Wish it lasted longer because it really passes quickly and the trail is almost non-existent. What a pity.

  • Love at first sight, like almost everything from Prada, a house I started with that has never failed to impress me. I detect metallic tones that I like because they add freshness, defined by that refreshed lavender with mint. I don’t notice much ambroxan; my reference is Sauvage, which is crazy, so in other perfumes it always sounds soft to me. It’s clean, fresh, soapy, and classy, though more sporty than other Prada scents. Ideal for summer and spring, but its versatility allows year-round use. It won’t let you down. Curiously, it’s the first perfume that stopped me on the street; a woman with her partner said she’d never experienced that before (and I think it was closer to her than to me). I’m not obsessed with compliments, but nobody spoils a sweet. The interesting thing is that I love it and thought it was just for me, but it has projection. I’m a lover of clean perfumes, like fresh out of the shower, and that’s where my connection with Daniela Andrier comes in, the best perfumer I’ve ever met. What a pity that now with L’Oreal they’re betting on another path; it’s noticeable in the new Frankler ‘Luna Rossa Ocean’. But we always have these wonders left.

  • Very citrusy and sharp, but nothing annoying. Over time, it leaves a very elegant herbal aroma, and gradually you can detect a sweetness, I believe it’s the ambroxan with the lavender. It lasts a long time with just a few sprays. A fine and elegant scent. Worth it from Prada.

  • Daniela Andrier often adds a powdery touch to Prada fragrances, and this one, Empower, is fresh and aromatic. It’s all about lavender, lavender, and more lavender, with a hint of ambered ambrette that gives it a chocolatey hue. The blend works brilliantly. Performance is decent for today’s standards. I personally love this lavender scent; it feels youthful. It doesn’t smell vintage; instead, it’s citrus-woody with character. It’s ethereal, with just the right amount of sweetness and very pleasant dry-down notes. Clean and aquatic. I like it. Perfect for wearing all year round at work, ideal for a sporty young man. Goes well with jeans, polos, or shirts. A good creation. Powdery yet light, effervescent, and slightly sweet. For when you don’t know what to wear. The trail is pleasant.

  • I love Luna Rossa; it’s been my signature for years. Although they reformulated it under Puig or L’Oréal, it doesn’t matter to me. Everything gets reformulated and I’ve had several signatures. I don’t care if they say it’s generic or has poor performance; as with everything, taste is a matter of colour. Better to try before buying. I already like several Pradas that perform well: Iris Cedre, Amber, etc. If I like it and it performs, I’ll buy it.

  • Sofisticado

This will be one of my next purchases. Clean, elegant and neutral. I’ll use it in spring and summer. Regarding the performance criticisms, I see it as a medium-performance fragrance. As a friend says, worrying about longevity is for the poor. If I like it, I enjoy it; if it doesn’t last, I reapply without a problem. Fragrances are for enjoying, not for suffering with a watch.

  • Davpelser

No one else reminds me of H24 by Hermès; I understand that it is the clearest one that stands out on my skin.

  • Ordered from Linio Mexico, Antonio Puig version, 50ml. The batch is from 2022, so this grid bottle is about ten years old. The scent is normal, nothing extraordinary, hardly unpleasant. The performance isn’t the best, but it’s perfect for hot days and casual or formal wear. A slight talcum note that is well tolerated in the heat. Rewarding purchase.

  • Matias Alonso

Bought it weeks ago and tried Allure Homme Sport yesterday; they smell very similar. This one costs less than half the price, so I recommend Prada for value for money.

  • Pungent, rich, and pleasant. If you’re looking to project cleanliness, this is the one. Ideal for work without being intrusive. Good reception, acceptable longevity, and moderate sillage. Recommended for hot autumn, spring, and summer. Rating: 8.5/10.

  • XavierFT

A minimalist and lovely fragrance. Perhaps slightly medicinal due to the lavender and musk, yet it retains enough sweetness for any occasion. Ideal for the office, class, or going out. It conveys someone clean and organised. Perfect for spring, summer, and early autumn. Longevity and projection are moderate. It’s safe and doesn’t bother anyone.

  • I love its clean, soapy scent; this year it has replaced my Prada Amber. While both feature lavender, this Luna Rossa is more modern thanks to the orange and that subtle ambroxan. Moderate performance and soft sillage; it lacks a bit of initial projection compared to the Amber. My batch is from March 2024.

  • Initially smells like mint gum, then lavender soap before fading away. I wouldn’t recommend it; it feels more suited to a ten-year-old than an adult post-shower.

  • Just arrived this morning, a very successful blind buy. In the line of Prada L’Homme it feels clean and soft, versatile. At first I had doubts, but Prada never fails. It’s subtle, but I’ve been lucky because I got an October 2013 batch and even with the shaking of the almost six-hour delivery I can still smell it perfectly. I’ll let it settle as I do with all my fragrances to improve performance, but for now no complaints, I suppose my pH helps. A marvel, very happy with my purchase. If you are a fan of clean scents and above all of Prada, this is highly recommended even blind.

  • A marvel. Smell of cleanliness without seeming like detergent or soap bar. Or at least that’s how I perceive it. The duration is not bad, 5-6 hours. The only bad thing is the projection, as it stays in the intimacy. Still, I think it’s incredible and necessary for daily wear. And if you want to smell more, just reapply and carry on with your life.

  • Martínvenezuela

It’s alongside Prada L’Homme Leau, they are spectacular, smell of cleanliness, very rich, recommended 100%.

  • Another Prada disappointment, the notes promised much. There is something that makes it smell super sour, almost like vinegar. Two hours’ duration, low projection. It needs to be worn outdoors on windy and hot days to be enjoyed, otherwise it’s as if you weren’t wearing anything. I see it as more formal than informal, 100% masculine. For over 30 years, spring. It’s not horrible, not annoying but I wouldn’t recommend it. 5/10.

  • A classic of the Italian brand, soapy, with a retro air. On my dry skin it ends up being a bit unpleasant. Not very memorable, too discreet and there are notes I don’t perceive, like mint and bitter orange. Try before buying, as always.

  • Austriacopitecus

Smells similar to the hand soap of the average grandparent’s house in Spain.

  • Some rush to say Luna Rossa is another Prada disappointment or that it doesn’t suit them on the skin. Let me be clear: they have no idea. As someone who has tried almost the entire Prada collection and dozens of other houses, I affirm without doubt: the original is the crown jewel. An unparalleled perfume, inimitable, with an olfactory signature that crosses time with elegance. Imagine a glass tower, natural light in an office with ironed white shirts, sophisticated calm, success and confidence. Outside, green areas that refresh. That is the universe of Luna Rossa. It doesn’t smell like an authoritarian boss, it smells like a leader: someone who inspires, guides and conquers without imposing. The opening masterfully combines the energy of bitter orange with fresh, vibrant and clean mint. Lavender, softly aromatic, unites tradition and vanguard. Musk and ambroxan seal the experience with a feeling of clean, masculine, elegant and persistent skin. It’s not strident, but never goes unnoticed. It marked me from a young age. The first time I tried it, a sample in a store, it accompanied me for hours. Even after showering it was still there, like an echo that doesn’t disappear. Since then it’s my olfactory signature. I’ve been faithful to it for 18 years. What about Luna Rossa Carbon? An interesting attempt, but without soul. The aquatic one? Pleasant for summer, yes, but it lacks the character of the original. Luna Rossa is not just a perfume. It’s a declaration of intent. It’s silent success. It’s modern elegance. And above all, it’s unforgettable.

  • I tried it in a store with a spray on my wrist and liked it, but I swear there wasn’t a trace left after an hour. Maybe it was the humid heat of that day. I’ll give it another chance.

  • For some reason, my nose is very sensitive to this scent; I can smell it from afar and in any place. I first smelled it on a friend and asked what it was. I’ve had it for 8 years now and it’s nearly finished because I keep the last sprays. What I like most is that metallic note, which although not declared, is the one that stands out the most. I love it.

  • I stumbled upon Prada Luna Rossa and absolutely loved it. It’s simple, nothing complex, and I realised women prefer this kind of scent over the more complicated ones. It smells like high-quality soap, fresh and clean, like in a luxury hotel. Nobody would complain about the smell. When I went to see my brother-in-law, he kept asking about the perfume and was fascinated. On a Saturday, my colleagues told me it smelled great, and one added that I looked sexy because of the scent. On the skin, it lasts 5 to 7 hours, on clothes until the next day. The projection is good for the first hour, then it becomes a personal bubble that invites people to get closer and smell it.
