  • I don’t know why it has such a reputation. I expected more from this fragrance and was left disappointed. It bores me and provoked no emotion. I gave it to my 10-year-old daughter.

  • Since my student days, I’ve grown familiar with the smell of benzoin, used in hospitals to secure adhesive dressings. I’ve always been fascinated by those bottles with that aromatic yellow oil. In Prada Candy, the benzoin is very noticeable, along with a fine caramel, vanilla, and musk that create a sweet, warm, powdery, and precious aroma. It’s like a hug; it’s not sexy or provocative, but when my husband hugs me, he inhales deeply without saying a word, which says a lot 😉. The sillage is discreet, and although they say it doesn’t last, I think it’s a matter of skin; on me, it does last. I find it linear but I like that. My city is hot, but when the temperature drops I take the opportunity to wear it, because in the heat its sweetness can be overwhelming. I love it.

  • I bought this perfume blind in winter because of the sweet reviews; I imagined something like Viva Juicy or similar… nothing like it! At first, I smelled pure alcohol, then something like soft makeup powder, and I had no idea where the notes were. It made me angry, so I put it away. Now in summer I used it again and it’s a different story: yes, it’s sweet, but elegant and very wearable, powdery and refined. Long-lasting, but I only appreciated its scent in summer; in winter I feel the cold swallows the notes. It’s not synthetic like Viva Juicy or Jessica Simpson’s Fancy; it’s a different scent altogether.

Let me tell you a short story: I had COVID and lost my sense of smell for five days; my nose was burning. Now I’m recovering little by little, but it was strange and distressing not to feel scents. I bought blind decants and had to ask my close ones to describe the smells to me. Today, the magic: I smelled Prada Candy 💛 and already want it. They described it as a delicate, powdery, cosy caramel; my aunt, who doesn’t like sweets, was thrilled, and my boyfriend, my ‘nose’, said it smells refined and adult, not childish or tooth-rotting like Pink Sugar. It smells like milk caramel, almost like dulce de leche, and I loved it. I was scared by the name, imagining something nauseating like Pink Sugar, but nothing like that. I’ll continue to enjoy the decant and then I’ll get the bottle 💛. Take care.

In my olfactory journey, we sometimes find clunkers and other gems. This was one of the latter: the finest caramel, with a powdery, talcum-like creaminess that blends naughty innocence with elegant sensuality. It reminds me of a fine custard cream. It carries hints of Emporio Armani, Ange ou Démon, 212 Sexy, and Kenzo Amour. It’s softly strong yet present, with vanilla, musk, and benzoin that are seductive. The caramel is a gourmet dulce de leche, exquisite without being cloying. The benzoin adds a resinous, smoky touch, like burnt woods and incense. It’s wearable in the cold and works very well in the heat. It’s of sumptuous elegance, very chic and glamorous. Divine.

  • I have mixed feelings. The opening, heavy with ethyl maltol, feels very synthetic and cheap, but after 10 minutes the synthetic note fades into a sweet, resinous, powdery scent thanks to the benzoin and musk. Once settled, it smells like honey and milk tablets from my childhood, with a hint of old makeup. That blend of makeup and confectionery is very original and adds elegance to gourmands. Although the sillage isn’t heavy, I can still smell it after 12 hours. Apart from the opening, it’s pleasant, feminine, and suitable for day and cold weather. I see it more as a daily wear than for special occasions. I doubt I’ll buy it as I’m not much of a gourmand, but I’ll finish the sample. Pleasant: 6/10, Interesting: 8/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 8/10

  • I didn’t like it at all. It smells like talcum powder with a caramel note, but watery talcum powder, as if you’d put it in water: thin, powdery, and unappealing. It’s sweet but lacks depth, leaving you wanting more. The performance is very soft; I wouldn’t recommend it for the price unless you’re looking for something specific for the office.

  • Hiiii! I first encountered this at a French airport in 2015 and was absolutely blown away: a rich, powdery, tender, and incredibly original scent I’d never experienced before. It felt chic, like bus stop talcum powder. What a letdown, though: when I found out it was coming to Chile, I gifted it to my husband for his birthday. The longevity is poor; not even an EDT lasted long, and the sillage is virtually non-existent. If you like this type of fragrance, a great dupe is Kenzo Elixir 😎. Kisses.

  • This perfume was my favourite for two years; I loved it because its scent is soft yet powerful at the same time, sweet but not cloying. On its first outing, the benzoin and vanilla are strong; after a few hours, the caramel and talc are slightly felt. On my skin, the longevity of this perfume was approximately 6 hours and on clothes until washed. I’m a great lover of sweet gourmand perfumes but I know most people don’t like them. Some people told me they didn’t like the perfume that smelled good but after a few hours smelled like dirty nappies (poop); I turned a deaf ear because in reality I thought it was fabulous. When suddenly a few months ago in winter I started to perceive a soft powdery ‘popo’ scent on my clothes, I thought it was because some fabrics like synthetic fibres (polyester) tend to smell ‘strange’. After this, I decided to spray it on cotton clothes; at first I didn’t notice that smell until a few hours later I felt that unpleasant aroma again. Since then I’ve stopped using it…

  • Pulcinella

This was my signature scent for years, almost since the year it came out (2012, a lot has changed since then). It was the perfect perfume for me, who adores sweet scents but without being cloying. A vanilla caramel, powdery and ambered. Every time I wore it, I felt at home. Even on occasions I wore it in summer to sleep, as I didn’t want to use it during the day for fear of being cloying to others, but I missed it. I used at least four bottles, including the 80 ml one which I still keep. As you can see, it’s all in the past. Either my nose has changed, or the perfume has been reformulated. The last time I bought it, it didn’t smell the same; it has lost the warmth of the caramel and the vanilla. Now it smells like a kind of sweet dust, nothing like the delight of before. Even its longevity and sillage have changed; it was never the most long-lasting or intense, but now it disappears in a breath (and that’s fine too, as its current scent doesn’t please me at all). It doesn’t even last on clothes, and yet in winter my scarves always smelled of dried Candy. Unfortunately, I’ve ended up using it to perfume my room after making the bed. Curiously, if I spray it into the air, it does smell like the authentic Candy. A truly nostalgic scent for me. But it’s time to say goodbye. Thanks for the good moments 🙂

  • Prada Candy is the king of powdery perfumes; that accord, powdery caramel, dominates from start to finish. It’s not cloying and its performance is quite good; I’ve even worn it in a hot spring and it lasts ten hours. In my opinion, it’s a good perfume; it’s true that it has a scent reminiscent of baby products, but it doesn’t bother me at all. My recommendation is to try before you buy and not let yourself be influenced by others’ opinions. Who will like it: lovers of powdery perfumes.

  • On my skin it results in a blend of violet sweets and sweet coconut but nothing overpowering; I suppose these aromas fall within the powdery notes. It’s not one of my favourites but it’s not bad.

  • Sabry-españa

Bought at a super sale, I love its bottle, so cheerful, very girly. I like its powdery sweetness; it conveys ingenuity and neatness. What a pity that on me it becomes a skin scent in no time.

  • Sulamita Dulce

I think it was one of the first purchases when I started my perfume collection. And I regretted it shortly afterwards. I’m a fan of sweet bomb scents, of entering a room and not going unnoticed. And this one is too soft in terms of sillage and longevity if you’re freshly showered, about 4 hours but with no projection. Powdery caramel, its aroma lulls you. For the price, I wouldn’t buy it again; in fact, I hardly use it. It’s at the back of my collection. The packaging and box are lovely. I don’t know if it’s been reformulated, but the current version is a disappointment for my tastes.

  • Well, I don’t know if it’s because I bought it from someone selling shop testers, but I don’t feel it’s sweet at all; I don’t smell the caramel or the vanilla, it’s more like I get a slightly citrusy note. I don’t think it’s great; they sold it at a good price, I wanted to try it because it was supposedly sweet, but I can’t find any sweetness in it…

  • It’s very special and distinct; I haven’t smelled anything like it until today. I think it’s very well made <3. A scorched caramel... I'd had it for years, forgotten, until I smelled it one night in the queue at the fair's rides. It reached me with a gust of hot summer night air and... it smells so good, it's unmistakable :'D. It's back and present as it deserves <3.

  • A bit disappointed. I loved it when I tried it in the perfume shop, but once I’d bought it, I don’t know, it just stopped pleasing me as I wore it. I found it boring.

  • A blend of vanilla, iris and powdery caramel. Have I finally found my signature scent? Yes. Do I get tired of wearing it? No. I don’t want to prolong what makes me feel this way, so I’ll summarise: Prada Candy is quite an experience in sweet and powdery perfumes. I know exactly how to describe it with a scene. Imagine we have a brand new pink handbag; inside there are lollipops and vanilla and strawberry sweets, some pink eyeshadows, and a high-quality plum-red lipstick. We open the bag on a bright sunny day and you’re greeted by a more than satisfactory scent, for that is exactly what this gem projects at first contact. I wore it to a party one night and I’m not sure how to explain what it made me feel as the hours passed; besides, it’s a very pleasant scent, nothing invasive, that gives a sense of lightness, hehe. Do I make myself clear? I felt as though I was floating on clouds every time I moved and the perfume spread through the air. It lasted about 6-7 hours on my skin. I totally prefer that the perfume isn’t too noticeable or has low projection; while it doesn’t have the sillage I’m used to, it is very present and I think that adds to it, a delicate sweet and not too loud compared to other vanilla and caramel fragrances. Why do I love the bottle so much? Perhaps because of the pink colour and the Art Deco inspiration. This perfume is literally me.

  • LorenaLorelay

Sweet and clean, I like it for everyday wear because it does not overwhelm but you notice you are wearing it. I detect the caramel and an elegant vanilla with talcum, very pretty, the finest gourmand I own.

  • It is one of the fragrances I like the most: it has the perfect caramel scent; nothing childish, nothing vulgar, nothing cheap. It is sweet and elegant at the same time, something rare in my opinion. At the same time, it does not last at all. It makes me sad that a perfect scent like this does not last. I checked if it was a pirate copy and it was not. I think reformulations have a lot to do with it. For the lucky ones for whom it lasts, the ideal time is autumn or early spring, during the day. It is more autumnal than winter; in very cold winters I think it fades. Very good scent for work or where you want to make a good impression.

  • Persefonex

I would like users who like Prada Candy to recommend a similar one. For me it is unique, but surely there is one that resembles it. Thank you!

  • Lauryn Hill

Simple, smells nice but not too much. The musk and talcum are noticeable from the start. I barely smell the caramel and it lasts very little. When I sprayed it, it reminded me of Kenzo Flower; it is basically the same scent but better reformulated (Candy is more wearable and soft), they just share the musk. I imagine it on someone very feminine, a little childish, wearing pastel clothes. It is extremely sweet, does not last, and is expensive for what it is. I recommend testing first on skin and browsing shops before buying.

  • Smells like caramel, sweet but without being overpowering. It is not a bomb that everyone within a kilometre can smell you wearing; it is for those who prefer discretion. You get close and it is noticeable without being intrusive.

  • Elizabethshelby

Sweet, sweet, sweet, but not over the top. Smells like hot caramel, like dulce de leche. It has something elegant, a fine caramel, a French dessert with powdered sugar. The opening is more adult but drier than youthful, warm. It does not feel cloying to me, nor overly complex. It has that special something that makes you want to smell your arm every now and then.

  • Pleasant, though to me it is too cloying. The talcum notes are very prominent. I see it more as a fragrance for a lady than something youthful. It has good performance but it becomes tiring. I do not recommend buying blindly, especially in heat or enclosed spaces.

  • Carlospe5

A luxury of elegance; the sweetness is perfectly balanced and that talcum base is incredible. It just lacks a bit of longevity, but without a doubt it is a classic for any occasion.

  • nataliedrm

Another perfume that made me think, ‘where have you been all my life?’ If I’d heard of Candy in secondary school, I would have rushed to try it. For years I avoided it, thinking it would be another sweet like Lolita Lempicka, but no, and thanks for that. The day I tested it on my skin, I decided it was my next purchase. That first-scent love remains. A soft sweet touch, musky and talcky, perfect for cold days, nothing invasive, subtle and intimate. I use it to sleep in on cold days. Great longevity, not overbearing, doesn’t smell synthetic. A beauty. Prada Candy, I love you.

  • madeinfrance

I perfectly remember the moment I heard about it from a friend and was fascinated. I bought it years later in 80ml, but ultimately it didn’t convince me. It took me years to finish it. The opening is sweet due to the caramel, almost the only stage I like. Then it feels very talcky, which I don’t like. When it dries, it leaves a bitter scent, like burnt caramel. It has no trail and the longevity is low; it’s close to the skin for about two hours. I recommend testing it on your skin before buying.

  • I don’t know what happened to this perfume; I owned it and the caramel was more noticeable. I tried it again in a perfumery and only noticed talc, with almost no caramel when it dried. I hate reformulations; it’s not worth buying again, it smells like pure baby talc.

  • DaniLiss29

I heard about it because I accidentally squeezed it at FreeShop. I find it delicious. Strangely, it reminds me a lot of Valentino Born in Roma. I even doubted if I hadn’t touched another perfume that had been left on my hand. I’d love to know if anyone else experiences this, because I fell in love.

  • molletmod.73

The Prada Candy. Like the first one, none. It imposed that cloying caramel-vanilla vibe with a musky and talcky touch, very common these days. Juvenile, chic, enchanting, delicate, clean, almost naif, though not for brats or very young women. It’s 100% Prada, an Italian house with tradition and elegance. Unfortunately, everything here is moderate, refined, and perhaps a bit bland. It doesn’t last long, about 5-6 hours; by 2-3 hours it’s already close to the skin with a short trail. Surely it’s been reformulated today and toned down even further to sell its many boring flankers.

  • Ara Betancourt

How I wished for this until I finally got it; I love that it’s talcky and smells of caramel.

  • valecita0k

I absolutely love it; it’s truly tender. Very talcky and musky; when it dries, there’s a hint of caramel, but the soft talc always dominates. Smells of rose, feminine and tender without being childish, perfect for autumn and winter. In summer, the musk sometimes smells like sweat. If you’re looking for something super sweet, test it on your skin first. It’s gorgeous and I like it. Lasts a long time but close to the skin; the trail is soft but noticeable when passing by. Now it smells a bit like a baby or a wet wipe. If it doesn’t bother you, you might like it.

  • Mademoiselle

Light and sweet caramel with a clean talc base. Feels like a soft sweet without being cloying.
