  I was surprised because I didn’t perceive the pistachio at all; it smelled very much of citrus, wood, and patchouli. I felt it was very masculine; I don’t know what place it has in the Paradoxe line, and it’s the worst flanker in the line.

  I’ve seen it in Druni although not on the website. It’s the most different Paradoxe from the others. Basically, the typical ‘nut’ accord that’s in the latest This Is Her, the latest Devotion, the Hermes Jardins de Cithére, and the Sol de Janeiro pistachio scent predominates. Then, more subtly, something from the base of the original Paradoxe. For me, it’s an accord that’s starting to bore me. You can create a layering with the first Paradoxe and any pistachio mist, and this comes out. It doesn’t necessarily smell like pistachio; it’s the ‘nut’ or dry fruit accord that they’ve sold us as being pistachio. When I buy a bag of pistachios, I don’t smell anything at all like what they’ve tried to recreate in perfumes.

  It has a sharp opening and yes, I perceive the salty pistachio, but only for a few seconds. It’s not linear at all; afterwards, the fragrance transcends and levels out in its dry-down, rescuing the essence of the previous Paradoxe versions. It’s not for every nose; I wouldn’t wear it in hot climates or summer, so I’ll spray it a few times and wait for the magic to happen once the alcohols have evaporated. It has a great trail and longevity to ensure it doesn’t go unnoticed. It tends to be unisex, it’s not as sweet as the previous ones and even distances itself quite a bit, but it maintains some floral undertones that recall them. It’s not for every taste, but it’s not bad at all. I’m starting to like it.

  I can’t stand the Intense, but this one seemed very well-balanced and pleasant to the nose. I think I’ll add it to my collection in the future.

  This Paradoxe flanker is very different from the previous ones. First piece of advice: don’t buy it blindly. It doesn’t follow the floral line of its predecessors; here, a salty pistachio accord predominates, very accentuated by the sandalwood, which finds some freshness in the opening thanks to the neroli, but it quickly fades, leaving that salty point. I think if it had been combined with patchouli or vanilla (instead of sandalwood), I would have liked it more.

  I received a free sample from Prada (thanks) and tried it when I noticed the OG evaporated quickly. I don’t have a great sense of smell, but for some reason, I think it’s a scent I’ve smelled a thousand times before. The only thing setting it apart is a rather artificial salty note, I believe it’s the pistachio. The trail is enormous; with just a mini application, I couldn’t stop smelling it. It made me feel ‘dirty’; I washed it off and it didn’t come out, only mutating into a slightly more pleasant version. Perhaps something similar to Black XS for women. Overall, it left me with the feeling of using a generic, loud product without soul. It disappointed me because I expected something more androgynous and woody. It was a different experience from the previous day with Infusion d’Iris, which kept evolving. Beyond personal tastes, the quality gap between the two is noticeable. It’s sad that it’s so hard to find perfumes that justify their price or surprise. When I was young, I was content with gifts; today, when I can pay to choose, I have few options.

  I was given a free sample of Prada and tried it because my original ran out quickly. I’m not an expert on scents, but it sounds familiar to me. The only odd thing is an artificial salty note, I think from the pistachio. The trail is brutal; with just a mini application I couldn’t stop smelling myself. I felt ‘dirty’ and washed it, but it didn’t come out, just changing to something slightly more bearable. It sounds like Black XS for women, but overall I found it a generic and loud product, soulless. I was disappointed because I expected something more androgynous and woody. The difference with Infusion d’Iris is huge; yesterday I loved that perfume that evolved, and today this has nothing to do with it. It hurts that it’s so hard to find perfumes worth the price or that surprise. When I was young I settled for gifts, but now that I can pay for what I want, I have very few options.

  As others say, don’t buy blindly. The pistachio is a very strong salty note that, together with the sandalwood, gives it a very masculine air. It could be unisex, but I prefer other notes. Definitely, although it’s not ugly, it’s not for my collection.

  I was given this by mistake instead of the OG, but I must say it pleasantly surprised me. It’s totally different and not as innocent as the first one. You can easily have both in your collection without issues.

  Totally different from the Paradox line. I tried it in-store and, instead of being floral-fruity, it turns out heavier and creamier, though just as sweet. The pistachio and sandalwood give it a toasted note, and the flowers are well-integrated rather than standing out separately. It’s pleasant, but not my style; it feels heavy and toasted.
