I don’t know what’s going on here; people list 20,000 similarities and they’re all different, opinions that contradict each other 100%. Before I came here looking for info, now it’s a complete mess.
If it’s the same as the Eau de Parfum that lasts an hour… I hope this flanker fixes that quite a bit.
I don’t know what’s going on here; people list 20,000 similarities and they’re all different, opinions vary wildly. Before I came here looking for info, now I just get more confused.
Just tried it at Druni and if you already own the Amber Wood by Ajmal, forget about buying this; it’s identical. And no, it has nothing to do with Spicebomb Infrared.
I gave it a sniff a few days ago with little interest and that was it: nothing more. It’s a perfume in the line of Boss Elixir and The Scent Elixir; in my opinion, those two from Hugo Boss are superior in almost every way to this Le Parfum, so if you like this profile, it’s a total dead end for me. I’ll stick with the Ocean EDT anyway; although it’s not quite the eighth wonder and its performance isn’t the best, I feel much more of a charm from this flanker of a flanker. Prada seems to be slipping away from me lately, ay ay ay…
Just tried it and it feels very original, something rarely seen these days. Opens with a strong lemon, moves through spices, and finishes with the sweetness of amber and wood. To me, it vibrates a lot like D&G The One EDP; it’s not the same, but it shares that same essence. Since that one is running out for me, I think this will be the perfect temporary substitute. It’s elegant, mature, and classy, very typical of Prada, and I’m sure most people will like it. It’s not for the gym or sportswear, but better suited for colder months (though we’ll see how it goes in summer). As for ‘Ocean’, perhaps it’s my olfactory memory, but as it dries down, it reminds me of the sea at sunset or sunrise, as if they’ve mixed that blue with a touch of saffron. In short, I recommend it to anyone who wants to smell different and unique.
It has vintage echoes, nothing special; I do not recognise the four declared notes and on my dry skin it dries out in a rough and unappealing way. I only detect amber and barely any citrus. Always test before buying.
Luna Rossa Ocean Le Parfum is spicy, ambered and woody. Upon application, it smells slightly earthy and spicy, like vetiver, patchouli and saffron. Over time, a floral accord similar to lavender emerges without losing its spiciness; the amber grows gradually and stays alongside the saffron. I think the name is misleading: it is nothing oceanic, fresh or marine, but rather the opposite. It is oriental, suitable for evening wear or autumn and winter, never in summer or at the beach. If it were simply called Luna Rossa Le Parfum, it would be fine, especially as the line has already released some excellent orientals. I tested Luna Rossa Extreme long ago and do not recall its exact scent as I never bought it, so I would not say they are similar, though it fits that style. Its longevity on me was eight to nine hours with a notable trail. Curiously, I often prefer the first version of many lines, but in this case, this is the one I liked the most.

Over time, a floral touch appears, such as lavender, but without losing its spiced character; the amber grows and stays throughout the development alongside the saffron. I think the name ‘Ocean’ is misleading, as it doesn’t smell of the sea, nor is it fresh or ozonic, but rather the opposite: it’s oriental, perfect for night or autumn and winter, nothing for summer or the beach. If it were just called Luna Rossa Le Parfum, it would be fine, besides the line already has other excellent orientals. I tried Luna Rossa Extreme a while ago and don’t remember its scent well, so I wouldn’t say they’re similar, although I think it fits that style. At first, it recalls Prada Luna Rossa Ocean, but without the pleasant side; it is darker and rougher. The final phase, woody and dry, reminds me of woods before lighting a noble wood fire. The bottle colour represents its contents very well, not so much the name. I think it is an excellent option for winter.
I tried it today in the store and went to work driving Uber with the windows slightly down. I worked 12 hours and out of 10 customers, 3 asked what smelled so good (the others had comfortable faces but said nothing, nor do people usually talk in cars, they’re a pain). Then I got home, wiped my neck with wipes and the scent was still there; I left the wipes soaked with aroma, took a shower, and swear I still had a scent on my neck. It’s a scent that keeps you coming back, you don’t get tired of it, no olfactory fatigue, projects from moderate to heavy, and lasts more than 12 hours (at least on my skin), it’s an excellent option. The only issue is the price: here in the US it costs $200 for 3.4 ounces, so you have to think it over.
I tested it today in the store and then went to work as an Uber driver with the windows down. After a twelve-hour shift, three out of ten passengers said it smelled wonderful; the others looked comfortable but silent. When I got home, I wiped my neck with wipes and the scent remained; the wipes were soaked, I took a shower, and the smell persisted. It is a scent that keeps you coming back, you don’t tire of it, it causes no olfactory fatigue, projects from moderate to heavy, and lasts over twelve hours. For me, it is excellent; the only drawback is the price: here in the US, it costs $200 for 3.4 ounces, so you have to think carefully before buying.
I see no resemblance whatsoever to The Scent Elixir except for the red colour, absolutely nothing in common with Le Male and zero similarities with Layton. This has an aromatic vibe totally from the first decade of the 2000s. Try it and buy it; I loved it. It’s not worth writing a review after testing it once in a perfumery with a destroyed nose after smelling two thousand fragrances.
I see no resemblance to The Scent Elixir other than the red colour; it has nothing to do with Le Male or Layton. It carries an aromatic vibe reminiscent of the early 2000s. I absolutely loved testing and buying it. However, writing a review after a single sniff with my olfactory senses numbed by two thousand fragrances is hardly advisable.
I don’t perceive citrus at the start, but oak and vanilla. It’s pleasant and masculine, but not essential for me. It reminds me a lot of Marly’s Layton.
One of the best launches of 2024 in my opinion. It’s not new, but I love that they take risks with that vintage touch. On smelling it, I thought of Xeryous Rouge by Givenchy, which is a point in its favour. They wanted to exploit that part of Xeryous, taking it to a more commercial ground, with the DNA of the Luna Rossa by Prada, which is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised and am seriously considering it, not just for the scent but for the performance. Prada today is one of the few brands that releases products worth their price, unlike the baseness of LVMH, L’Oréal and others.
It’s citrusy, ambered and woody; rounded and impressive. Everyone loves it and it won’t offend anyone. It’s essential if you want to move away from supermarket colognes or Axe Dark Temptation for dinner or going out in enclosed spaces. Very masculine and wearable if you have a moustache. But if the temperature rises, moderate it: with ten sprays in the cold, in the heat you’re left with two, and it’s luxury.
One of the best launches of 2024 in my opinion. It’s nothing new, but I love that they took the risk with that vintage touch. The first thing I thought when I smelled it was Xeryous Rouge by Givenchy, which is a plus. They wanted to exploit that part of the Xeryous but take it to a more commercial ground, with the typical DNA of the Luna Rossa line from Prada, which is excellent within the designer realm. Surprisingly pleased to the point that I don’t rule out buying it; I’m seriously considering it, not just for the great scent, but because the performance is truly surprising. Prada today is one of the few brands that launches products worth their price, unlike the basements of LVMH, L’Oréal, and another one that slipped my mind.
I tested it with generous sprays and walked around with it for hours. I returned to the store, sprayed it again and gave it time, but it still doesn’t quite convince me. It doesn’t smell like what I expected, but rather like my grandmother’s menthol for bumps (Vicks style). Once dry, it leaves a subtle, woody sweetness.
At first I thought it was VicVaporub, but after letting it settle for a few days, damn, what an exquisite fragrance. It’s very formal, not for everyday wear, but perfect for special occasions.
