To be honest, the base cedar dominates from the very first second, with a toasted, earthy note that overwhelms everything. Perhaps there’s a hint of laurel towards the end. With almost no floral presence, it smells more masculine than most I know, sticking to the old-school style. Some compare it to Terre d’Hermès, though I haven’t tried it to confirm or deny. In the dry-down, cedar and labdanum create a resinous effect, while sandalwood enhances the woodiness; some might find it reminiscent of shaving wax. Longevity is good, around eight hours, with low to moderate projection. It’s perfect for winter or autumn as a personal treat, though I don’t think it suits younger people. I’ve heard it’s discontinued; I picked up a 30 ml bottle at a perfumery in the centre of Santiago, presumably as part of a special offer.

They say it’s discontinued—I picked up a 30ml bottle at a perfume shop in the centre of Santiago, I suppose it was some kind of offer.
Tumulte, now out of production, is a dry, powdery woody scent where cedar and laurel make a perfect pair. Juniper adds a fresh note while sandalwood balances everything for a rich, nuanced finish. It’s not a complex or spectacular monster, but it’s easy to love; ideal for cold, rainy days. Rating: 5
