Perfumes de Michel Almairac

Born in Grasse, France, in 1953, Michel Almairac’s journey into the world of perfumery began early in his life. He attended the renowned Roure Bertrand Dupont perfumery school (now part of Givaudan), where he honed his skills and experience in the art of fragrance creation.

Throughout his illustrious career, Almairac has worked with several esteemed fragrance houses, including Takasago, Creations Aromatiques, Drom and Robertet, from the late 1990s. His portfolio includes collaborations with iconic fashion brands such as Dior, Burberry and Gucci, providing them with distinctive olfactory identities.

Some of Almairac’s most notable works include Eau de Gucci, Joop! Homme, L’Artisan Voleur de Roses and Le Labo Ambrette 9. His recent creations include the first fragrances for Bottega Veneta and Zadig & Voltaire. In addition, Almairac is credited with giving Chloé its world-renowned olfactory signature.

In 2021, Lalique Group and Brioni turned to Michel Almairac’s expertise to create the flagship fragrance Brioni Eau de Parfum. With the aim of achieving an timeless and elegant fragrance, Almairac worked closely with the Brioni brand to develop an aroma that would stand out. The resulting fragrance, a simple and clear scent with few ingredients, perfectly captured the essence of a Brioni bespoke suit.
