It was my father’s Christmas present and he loved it. Smells very much like sweet lemon, almost exactly like the Bohemian soap.

  • Oh Lush, this invasive, feisty, argumentative brand, full of suggestive names and collections that smell of witchcraft, magicians in Converse, revived hippies, and Fleetwood Mac records; how many detractors you have and how poorly you’re regarded, yet how brave you are every now and then. Lush, I always defend you to the hilt, I respect your potential and value your most different creations… I adore you! My devotion to Dad’s Garden is proof of that. It’s a magical perfume, like a chilling lemon tablet; my mother, a fan of citrus scents just like me, loves it. It’s a fragrance that, when paired with Dirty, also from Lush, really shines. Dad’s is potent, an artificial lemon blast at first, crisp and sharp, with that air freshener bark and synthetic punch that might make you hate it, but if you have patience and let it settle for a few minutes, the magic arrives: the lemon turns into a creamy citrus note, a magnificent and lasting salinity settles in that clings to your clothes for weeks without messing up; I sprayed a garment on 7 October and it still smells today. It’s like a hug, refreshing and blazing at the same time. I see it as intensely summery but it surprises in winter. It’s a safe purchase with an unbeatable price.

Put this body spray in the fridge and spritz it; a citrus explosion of lemon will flood your senses. All-day freshness, especially on clothes. Smells like lemon cider, perfect for summer. The rest of the year, try layering it to give your favourite perfume a refreshing and citrusy boost.

  • Living in Chile and thinking you can buy this blindfolded, expecting to smell lemon peels? Save yourself the money: buy those sweet full ones instead, and you’ll know exactly what it smells like.
