  It smells of dried white flowers in a cemetery and old clothes with mothballs. It’s a very particular scent that most people wouldn’t take to, but I like it; I suppose it’s an emotional thing that only I feel.

  When you read ‘Death and Decay’ you imagine something dark and heavy, but it’s quite the opposite: soft and floral, like those old-fashioned white flowers with a dusty touch. It smells vintage and precious, a pity the brand no longer sells it.

  It’s a strange perfume that hooks you, almost unsettling. The lilies dominate everything, very potent, with that damp earthy base that sometimes tastes bitter and other times soothing. It brings to mind fresh flowers straight after a funeral; it sounds shocking, but it leaves a sense of calm and nostalgia. I’d wear it only on my quiet days, when there’s not much around.
