Descripción

Philosykos Eau de Parfum by Diptyque is an aromatic woody fragrance for men and women. This composition was launched in 1996 under the olfactory direction of Olivia Giacobetti. The olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of fig leaves and fig, giving way to a heart of green notes and coconut. The trail settles on a base of fig tree, woody notes, and cedar.

  • I find both the EDP and EDT smell weak; the Parfum barely lasts three hours. It strikes me as too green. I’m looking for a sweeper fig, like ripe fruit, not the leafy kind. The Eau de Toilette smells a bit sweeter and fruitier, but it still gives off that fresh green note I’m not after, plus it doesn’t last at all.

  • Hello Annie01! Welcome to Fragrantica in Spanish! I invite you to visit our forum to share comments, questions, and concerns about this fragrance, where we can guide each other. I also recommend posting your review of Premier Figuier (very good by the way) on that fragrance’s profile so the community can read it, as not everyone will have the opportunity on the Phylosikos profile. Anything, we’re at your service; you can send us a private message to the moderators or to me, or raise questions directly on the forum. I send you a warm greeting from Mexico! Atte, Gaby – Administrator.

  • I agree with you, both are weak. If you get the chance, try Premier Figuier by L’Artisan Parfumeur; I think it’s closer to what you’re looking for. It’s fig but not so fresh, it’s more milky because the coconut milk nuances it and makes it sweeter.

  • Sweet and damp fig scent, in the line of Kerylos Garden (I like this one more) or Premier Figuier. Its problem is that it lasts a breath and with less force than a choir boy in a Scottish pub, but well, not everything can be perfect.

  • EDT review: a very pleasant fig fragrance, sweet yet green and fresh at the same time. The fig is noticeable with fruity sweetness, the leaves with a green touch, the coconut with a fresh, milky sensation, and the woods. I found it quite linear, with little evolution; perhaps it loses some of the initial sweetness and ends up greener and more woody. Disastrous performance: at most 4 hours on the skin before disappearing, with just enough potency. Suitable for temperate climates and totally unisex, as the fig and coconut give a feminine touch while the woody base is masculine. Although the scent is good and very natural, it didn’t fully suit me due to its terrible performance, even for an EDT, and the price doesn’t help either.

  • Review of the EDT: A very pleasant fig fragrance, sweet yet green and fresh at the same time. The fig is perceived with fruity sweetness, the leaves with a green touch, the coconut with a fresh, milky sensation, and the woods. I found it quite linear, with little evolution. At most, it loses some of its initial sweetness and ends up greener and more woody. Disastrous performance: at best 4 hours on the skin before disappearing, with just enough potency. Suitable for temperate climates and totally unisex, as the fig and coconut give it a feminine touch while the woods provide a masculine base. Although the scent is good and very natural, it hasn’t quite won me over, especially due to the terrible performance on my skin, even expecting less for the type of perfume. The price doesn’t help either.

I like it. Starts very green with crushed fig leaf. Gradually it sweetens until becoming a pleasant coconut scent, which then turns woody. It’s ideal for summer, but you must like coconut. For spring and summer, for daytime. Moderate longevity and soft sillage.

  • For lovers (and I’m one) of the vegetal fig scent: leaves, wood, and fruit. It’s ethereal, fresh, delightfully fruity, with subtle sweet nuances. It doesn’t smell synthetic and has a superb botanical greenness. It smells of Mediterranean nature, like freshly picked figs in a basket beneath an ancient fig tree overflowing with leaves and hard wood effluvia. It’s the fig fragrance I like most: fresh, leaning towards hot atmospheres but goes great with sporty, comfortable clothes. I heard it’s weak in performance, but on my skin it lasts all day with a gentle trail. I spent hours arguing with a saleswoman who claimed fig doesn’t smell; I say it does—the ripe fruit has a creamy, sweet aroma that this perfume captures very well. A rich perfume, with luminous and special airs. Fig lovers must not miss this. Happy New Year!

  • A charming proposition from Diptyque. I tried the EDT and was struck by the realism of the opening: a fig leaf, very green, nothing synthetic, which hits the nose immediately upon application. Gradually, the leaf sweetens, acquiring a beautiful, delicate fig-coco scent. I liked it very much, except for the poor longevity and, above all, the weak projection. Otherwise, it’s incredible. Totally recommended if you don’t mind carrying an EDT for intimate use; if you want to turn heads, it’s not your perfume.

  • A charming proposal from Diptyque. I tried the EDT and was struck by the realism of the opening: a very green fig leaf, nothing synthetic, which hits the nose instantly. Gradually it sweetens, gaining a precious and delicate fig-coco scent. I loved it, except for the low performance and weak projection. Incredible if you don’t mind using it for intimacy; if you want to turn heads, it’s not for you.

  • Incredible, but since I discovered the Esenzzia dupe, I stopped buying the original because it’s a millimetre-perfect copy; I find it really expensive.

  • Impressive green opening, hyper-realistic fig leaf. Then the fig scent appears. It’s an intimate fragrance without a trail, but for those who love the impressive realism of nature, this is their perfume. It smells of fig leaf and fig.

  • The green opening of crushed fig leaf is hyper-realistic. Then the fig scent emerges. It’s an intimate fragrance without a trail, but if you’re looking for impressive natural realism, this is your perfume. It smells of fig leaf and fig.

  • The fig in this perfume is the best I’ve ever smelled: super natural and transports you straight to summer afternoons under a fig tree. It’s sweet but not cloying, very wearable. Just for lovers of the note, as it captures the scent of leaf, fruit, and wood in every phase: opening, heart, and base.

  • A work of art. Conceptual and pursuing extreme realism. Green at first, it becomes woody over time. In the mid-stage, the fig appears. Despite being green, it’s not fresh, but has the astringent character of a fig leaf, dry and irritating. A very summery scent, reflected extraordinarily. I’ll say something provocative: the first two or three seconds suggest a box of peaches to me. Then the fig dominates. A great perfume. Its flaw: scarce longevity, no more than two hours. By afternoon, there’s no trace left on my skin.

  • A conceptual work of art pursuing extreme realism. Green at first, it becomes woody over time. In the dry down, the fig appears. Despite being green, it doesn’t smell fresh due to the astringent character of the leaf, which is dry and irritating. It’s a very summery scent, extraordinarily well reflected. Provocative: the first seconds suggest a box of peaches, then the fig dominates. A great perfume. Its flaw: scarce longevity, no more than two hours; by afternoon there’s no trace on my skin.

  • I was eager to try it and after two days of use I confirm it’s the most realistic fig leaf scent I’ve ever smelled; the quality is noticeable. Then it blends with realistic coconut and finishes slightly woody. The green leaf note predominates first, then the coconut. The problem is the poor sillage and projection: it lasts on me for over 8 hours, but no one notices you after the first 45 minutes. It’s for personal enjoyment and that disappoints me. I’ll update.

  • Creamy fig! As is Diptyque custom, it creates a realistic artistic expression. It smells like when you cut a fig and that white milk comes out, which you rub on your fingertips, with infinite resemblance. As it dries, that creaminess fades and wood enters, an exceptional combination. I don’t perceive green fig, leaves or coconut; that milky part is the beauty, not the fleshy smell of a ripe fig. It evokes a walk through a fig field on a fresh afternoon. Longevity isn’t the best, but with 8-10 sprays it lasts and delights. There’s nothing like this nature in the market.

  • Delicate and well-constructed aroma. Fig, coconut and milky notes predomine (it’s fruity, fresh and creamy), highlighting a subtle apricot skin scent that persists. I consider it rich, naturalistic, fruity and green, unisex and balanced. The downside is its reduced sillage, making it more intimate, but it stands out for its peculiar and non-generic scent.

  • diasbuenos

It simply smells of fig, just like a fig. Green, astringent and intense scent, masculine. As an experience it’s incredible, but as a perfume it’s not for me: too intense and unpleasant to walk around smelling like a fig.

  • SirCharlie

I always hesitated to try it because of the fig, but this Diptyque deserves its recognition and is one of the best in its type. It smells of fig tree and fruit with a slightly rough touch (perhaps coconut), mildly sweet and woody base. It’s green, refreshing and calming. It’s an excellent counterpart to Fico di Amalfi and Ferrari’s Noble Fig. Great quality-price ratio, dense aroma and good performance. Perfect for warm climates. Worth trying. Note: 8/10.

  • SeekerofHugs

I love figs but this isn’t for me. It smells of fig tree with grass and earth; the coconut isn’t that present. I expected something fruitier and sweeter, but it focuses on the tree. It opens green and fresh, with crushed leaves and juniper, almost morning dew. As it dries, it softens into a woody and milky mist. Low sillage, medium longevity (6h). I wouldn’t buy it, but the unique olfactory experience is worth it.

  • It’s unisex, linear and clear, ideal for spring and summer as it doesn’t project much. More than a fig, it’s a hymn to lactones: milky, coconutty and peachy. It smells to me of unripe peach, green fruit, slightly sweet, creamy and astringent, like wax crayons. Lasts about 8 hours, sillage is timid but very comfortable. I wear it with Hermès Un Jardin en Méditerranée. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 7/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 6/10.

  • Philosykos is a super-linear, transparent unisex, perfect for spring and summer as an all-rounder because it doesn’t project much. More than a fig, it’s a hymn to lactones: milky, coconutty, peachy, and apricot-like. If I describe it less chemically, it smells like unripe peach: green fruit, not very sweet, creamy, astringent, and slightly woody, with a wax pencil texture. Being of good quality, it lasts about 8 hours, although the trail is timid. It doesn’t kill, it’s extremely comfortable, useful, and very special among fig perfumes which tend to be sweet. My favourite way to wear it is layering with Un Jardin en Méditerranée by Hermès, because the astringency of UJeM mixes exquisitely with the creaminess of Philosykos. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 6/10

Love at first sight… Amidst so many gourmands that smell the same, Philosykos is an oasis of freshness and naturalness. All the beauty of a fig with earth, what a marvel that it’s in a bottle. It’s addictive. Now I’m saving up so we never run out.

  • I’d been searching for a scent to capture the rounded, perfect smell of a fig tree—that summer fragrance, the tranquility, afternoons spent reading, and just life unfolding. Something that takes you back to childhood and the countryside. I’m not sure I’ve found it in this Philosykos, but it is a good fig perfume. You spray it and a supreme fig tree springs to mind, realistic to the point of being inconceivable. Green, with a sweet freshness, evoking shade, heat, and summer. Clean. It’s a creamy fig with an initial white and green impression that evolves into brown, a soft wood that doesn’t abandon its greenery. The overall impression is cleanliness, warmth, and creamy transparency. Very natural. But… it costs a fortune and doesn’t last. You can’t pay that price just to smell yourself. A truly great pity, and it needs to be said out loud.

  • I’d been searching for a blend that captures the round and perfect scent of the fig tree, the fragrance of summer, tranquility, afternoons spent reading, and what happens simply by being there. Something that catapults you back to childhood and the village. I’m not sure I’ve found it in this Philosykos, but it is a good fig perfume. You spray it and a supreme fig tree comes to mind, realistic to the point of inconceivability. Green, fresh and sweet, with a sensation of shade, heat and summer. Cleanliness. It’s a very great pity and it has to be said loud and clear.

  • At first I thought it was another scent, but trying it in-store was a disappointment: the fig smells like zombie, with a synthetic coconut base giving it a false aftertaste. It reminds me more of Goutal’s Ninfeo Mio or Paula’s Ibiza. For the price, there are better options. Edit: the seller was curt, but a week later I feel cleaner; on skin, no, what a pity.

  • I’ve loved Philosykos since I first smelled it years ago, but I’ve also hated it (well, ‘hated’ is strong; I was more annoyed). I had it, stopped buying it, and returned out of whim and love for figs. Now I remember my anger at the longevity. How can an EDP not last even three hours at the price of the 75ml bottle?

  • On my skin, the fig is too much, too sweet for me, perhaps due to the coconut which gives a milky touch. It gives me the sensation of sticky hands after eating figs, so realistic. It’s not cloying, but astringent and transparent. It seems very natural and light, but it has a major problem: the performance is scarce, really scarce. What a pity.

  • I bought a sample and tried it today. It smells overwhelmingly of plant, achieved at 100%! My boyfriend says: ‘It smells like a plant. It’s a pleasant and characteristic scent, but so much so that I associate it with a plant rather than a person’. I give it a 7.8. I like how it smells, but I won’t rate it higher for that psychological reason. I still don’t know if I’ll add it to my collection; I need to keep testing the sample to decide. The scent was intense but softened quickly (though it still smells like a plant, haha).

  • A green and pure masterpiece. The EDP is the best fig perfume I’ve tried. It comes out green and fresh, juicy and alive, with a subtle coconut that makes it creamy and refreshing, ideal for summer. The best part is its evolution: after the luminous opening, a spectacular base of leaves and wood remains—deep yet light, without any cloying sweetness or vanilla. Everything is clean, vegetal, and genuine. The quality is unquestionable; you can feel Diptyque’s care. For those who love green and natural scents, it’s a resounding ten.

  • Avalon1224

The best I’ve tried for recreating fig in its entirety: from the herbal notes to the sweet and fresh fruitiness. A very pleasant experience. It’s for personal delight due to its peculiarity and low projection; the longevity is far superior to the EDT.

  • Spectacular. It delivers 100%: opens super green with leaves, and within seconds you feel a giant fig with a subtle creamy coconut note. It’s a delight for men or women. Incredible. I have the 10ml vial and will get the full bottle as soon as I can.

  • If you’re looking to smell like the tree itself, this is a perfect recreation: trunk, leaves, and fruit. It’s very green; I ordered a decant expecting the fruit’s sweetness, but it’s turned out lovely and I wouldn’t wear it.

  • I tried it in-store and was left speechless: it captures the entire fig tree—fruit, leaves, and wood—super naturally. I compared the two versions and I’m sticking with the EDP. If you’re a fig fan, buy it without a second thought.

  • darlenerock

Nailed it spot on: fig leaf, sweet fruit, and woody trunk base. It’s enchanting and unisex. The only thing holding it back is that I would have loved a creamier touch.
