I was searching for a fragrance with fig notes that were protagonists. I’ve pushed a few people’s buttons with my search, and I thank you all for it. Looking for options to test based on the advice you gave me (Ninfeo Mio, Philosykos…), I came across Premier Figuier. It is pure, hard-core fig. It has a very clear fig leaf opening that, I suppose thanks to the almond milk and coconut, becomes creamier and drifts towards the fruit. And little more… To me, it’s excellent; it was exactly what I was initially looking for, but nothing is perfect. Its longevity is extremely scarce, and its trail is non-existent on me. Considering that it is the first fragrance to use fig notes and that Olivia Giacobetti’s intention was to highlight them, it is a true success. Premier Figuier is deliberately simple, but now I need something more. One phase completed, and next is to follow the advice you gave me and dare to try Ninfeo Mio. Correction 22/12/2015. I clarify the longevity; I was a bit cruel. It’s not as scarce as I commented; I was a bit stingy the first few times and held back the quantity, but with a generous application (no need to empty the bottle), it lasts 6 to 8 hours. As for the trail, I still say it’s non-existent on me. In my opinion, it’s excellent; it results in a creamy scent without being too dense or overly sweet.
After using Philosykos, I decided to try this one. Although I liked it fresh out of the bottle at first, it later transformed into something cloying to me, like an old lady’s scent. I like the smell of fig plain and simple; I would rub myself all over the tree for that, and for that, Philosykos is perfect. I will not repeat this purchase.
Greetings. L’Artisan de Parfumeur’s Premier Figuier. Opening: GREEN, GREEN, GREEN… almost like cutting the lawn. The opening surprised me a bit, but when I went to read the notes, everything became clear. Fig leaves were the main event. An interesting, deep, and natural opening. Now, moving into the heart notes, I was very struck by the warmth and softness of the sandalwood and almond milk… but WTF… first green notes, then tranquility and serenity with the heart notes. What a strange combination, but it has a sweet aroma that is extracted from the fig. Wow, that felt incredible. To summarise this phase, I give it an 8/10 for its fig note, the warmth of the sandalwood, and the warm almond milk. Very good phase, though very short in duration. So, Olivia Giacobetti, I think, wanted this fragrance to portray the thick, consistent sweetness of the fig. Brilliant. Very few fragrances have this note as a protagonist. Therefore, in its middle phase, I enjoyed it like crazy; it reminded me a lot of SL’s Iris Silver Mist. In its final hours, I thank Olivia Giacobetti for composing such a finale: a very soft coconut note, a very natural and acidic lemon, and a very composed and elegant woody sandalwood. I see this fragrance as very elegant and well-executed, although not for everyday wear due to its poor performance. I would recommend it for an event where you can ensure the presence of the aromas on your skin. I loved the fig note and how this fragrance interprets it in such a brilliant way. Greetings.
It’s fantastic when a fragrance can make a moment in your life so much better! This reminds me of when my grandfather used to pick figs from the trees; he’d throw a certain type of milk at them. When I smell it, I’m reminded of the times I spent with him, enjoying watching him run and walk. It’s brilliant, creamy, and green! Anyone who knows a fig tree will understand what I mean!
To start, honors where honors belong! The name explains it all: the first Figuier fragrance in history, which alone deserves respect. Definitely one of the best, although the scent has since been copied and recopied. This is the one that started it all—a very green fig leaf scent that gradually takes on a creamy, lactonic tone reminiscent of almond milk. In the dry down, powdery and sandalwood notes emerge. It’s worth noting that it smells nothing fruity or sweet; Figuier is Fig, so if you’re looking for a fruity, sweet fig perfume, this is almost the opposite: green, woody, and powdery. Unlike many people, it lasts me a full day with just five sprays on the neck. Sometimes I love layering it with Mimosa & Cardamom by Jo Malone; the combination is spectacular. Truth be told, it’s one of the few that has earned compliments from both men and women, even from a distance. I thought it might be a bit ‘funky’, but hey, people like it! As a final curiosity, the creator, in my opinion one of the best noses in history, signed off on Diptyque’s Philosykos a year after the launch, which is practically 90% similar. For me, that was the last one discarded; the finalist, so to speak, fell in the final between them and Premier Figuier. She used it, or rather recycled it, for Diptyque. An iconic fragrance in France and the rest of Europe, marking a before and after, and which remains for me one of the top three fig fragrances on the market.❤️
