Descripción

Philosykos Eau de Toilette by Diptyque, created in 1996 by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti, belongs to the green aromatic olfactive family and is designed for men and women. This composition evokes the essence of fig across its three olfactive registers: the top note presents the fig, the heart unfolds fig leaves, and the base is anchored by the fig tree.

  • It’s the perfect recreation of a fig tree: fruit, leaf, and wood. I recommend the EdP because the EdT fades very quickly.

  • I was looking for something fresh and unobtrusive, yet not basic—more interesting than boring citrus—and I found Philosykos. The opening is intoxicating: a creamy, milky, wet fig that transports you to a thick, warm garden. Although it lacks mystery (it just smells of fig), the layers build up to leave an aquatic, mossy base, like a shadow where one can take refuge. I prefer the EdT to the EdP, as I usually do, because I don’t like strong scents. It feels different in the world of fresh and natural fragrances. I’m sure it will be my next purchase.

  • My go-to fragrance. It starts with a sharp note of freshly cut fig leaf, then moves into a sun-ripened creamy fig, blended with a sweet, milky coconut that makes you want to take a drink. It’s a journey from plant to fruit. Brilliant. I hope the dry-down stays just like this. I detect a hint of anise, but it could be contamination.

Probably the best fig scent I’ve ever tried. It smells like a complete fig: wood, leaf, and fruit, very realistic as calvfe says. It’s one of those fragrances that takes you back to a memory or a place. Its main flaw is the short longevity (the EdP suffers from the same issue, as do most figs), but it remains highly recommended if you love this Mediterranean aroma. Exquisite, fresh, green, and cheerful… I’ll never run out of it.

Probably the best fig aroma I’ve ever smelled. It smells exactly like the complete fig tree: wood, leaf, and fruit, in a very realistic way as my friend calvofe said. It’s one of those scents that transports you to a moment or memory. Its main drawback is the low performance (the EDP suffers the same as most figs), but it remains highly recommended if you love this Mediterranean scent. It’s exquisite, fresh, green, and cheerful; I’ll never run out of it.

A scent that transports you beneath the shade of a fig tree; it’s sublime and experiential, though with poor longevity. Still, I adore it; it’s an olfactory journey back to my childhood summers. It’s exquisite and smells of the whole tree, nailing the leaves and everything.

  • Delicious fig, but not just the fruit, but the smell of the tree too. Then it blends with woods, resins, amber, sandalwood, and a bit of incense, creating an incredible combination with the fruit. Moderate trail, lasts 4-5 hours, versatile for spring, summer evenings, and perhaps autumn. Highly recommended!

  • I love it; it literally smells like eating a fig. Something very special is that touch of acidity that strikes me. It’s one of my favourites and I see it as perfect for summer days, for both women and men.

  • Avalon1224

The best perfume I’ve tried to recreate the full fig aroma: from the herbal fig tree to the sweet, fresh fruit. A very pleasant experience, perfect for personal indulgence due to its peculiarity, although it has low projection and average longevity.

  • I agree with most. I love this fragrance: fresh, long-lasting, different, and I’m fascinated by its evolution. A herbal touch without harshness and a milky dampness that isn’t cloying. It’s quite distinct from others and a real gem.

  • Avalon1224

The best fragrance I’ve tried and the one that recreates fig in its entirety. From the herbal scent of the plant to the sweet and fresh fruit; a very pleasant experience. A fragrance for personal delight due to its peculiarity, low projection, and medium longevity.

The opening smells like a super-realistic fig garden, like when you pull a leaf and smell the sage on the stem. After a couple of hours, it stops feeling natural and becomes more mature; my mother and I agreed it reminds us of Avon perfumes from the 2000s. It has a timeless, nostalgic scent that brings back memories of my aunt taking us for walks with that sweet, feminine aroma. It seems to have more notes, flowers, and talc than the three listed. It’s lovely, but compared to other niche or designer scents, it doesn’t smell like what it costs; it feels budget-friendly, the kind that doesn’t disappoint. In my opinion, I wouldn’t buy it at this price; there are better options. The trail is a 2/10; it barely smells at two metres, it’s just for skin scent.

  • La esencia de la Victoria

One of my favourite perfumes because it is simply wonderful. I prefer the EdT to the EdP because it is truer to the spirit. It has plenty of green freshness and light, with a pure, natural fig that gives a clean, transparent sensation, without any additives. Compared to the EdP, which is creamier and sweeter, the EdT retains that vegetal clarity that makes it special: almost like breathing beneath the leaves of a fig tree. Its main limitation is longevity, but its unique character makes up for it. There are many fig brands, but this one is, for me, the most representative.

  • Juanpasiones

Smells of freshly plucked green leaves and branches. The opening is very organic and realistic, evolving into something more woody and dry, like a shy sandalwood with cedar, but it never quite justifies its price tag. It’s so flat and one-dimensional that eventually you want to smell something better, not like you’ve been rolled in brambles. Plus, the performance is terrible; a few sprays and it vanishes in three or four hours, leaving only a stick-like scent. It’s not worth a penny of what they ask; any Zara perfume offers better value.

  • La esencia de la Victoria

A classic in my collection. I prefer the EDT as it’s the most faithful to the spirit: green, vegetal, and luminous, with a pure, clean fig. Compared to the creamier EDP, this retains that vegetal clarity, almost like breathing beneath the leaves of a fig tree. The longevity is short, but its unique character makes up for it. For me, it’s the one that best captures the scent of fig.

  • Very green and fresh; I’ll save this for when the Valencia heat makes it breathable between June and September.
