The top notes unfold a vibrant citrus accord with grapefruit, Amalfi lemon, bergamot, and mandarin. The heart of the fragrance reveals a spicy and exotic floral bouquet thanks to geranium, rose, ylang-ylang, carrot seeds, nutmeg, and cloves. I tried the new Vetiverio Eau de Parfum against the EDT yesterday. The latter is lighter, less acidic, and has a floral touch. The Parfum is more bitter and citrusy, and I felt it was more masculine than unisex. Although every skin changes it, I didn’t detect any floral notes here. I think the EDT would suit me better as it is softer and floral. Both are good, but I recommend ordering a sample, letting it dry, and giving it time; that way you’ll know if it’s for you or not. (This is aimed at women.)

On my skin, the floral note is a silky whisper that fades quickly, just like the citrus which is barely noticeable, more of a breeze than an explosion. At first, it smells more of spices and herbs than fruit, but over time it turns into wood, which is where it truly shines. I’m surprised that with four citruses on the list it doesn’t smell like an acidic bomb, but rather something more subtle; instead, I can definitely detect the vetiver and cedar, which I love. Perhaps it’s my blind love for Diptyque, but they are my best buys. It doesn’t leave a strong trail, yet lasts for hours, leaving that clean sensation with a powdery touch from the musk.
