I was so excited because I love peach and guava… but uuuf, a huge disappointment. The peach smells super medicinal, sweet and half-vintage. Unbearable for my nose. It improves after the first hour, but it definitely won’t be a purchase. There’s so much hype, but please, try before you buy.
Rather than peach, this should be called Guava Revenge. It’s guava in paste form: liquid, caramelised, extracted and distilled—nothing else, no nuances! It’s like trying to add naturalness and going too artisanal. It’s horrible.

I was searching for a peach fragrance that truly suited me; the others were excessively sweet and childish, and since I adore the peach note, I needed something with character. I had the chance to try this delight. I rolled my eyes and instantly knew what I had been looking for. The peach dominates from start to finish, but its evolution is super special: an opening of peach in syrup with guava (sweet, innocent, fleshy, playful), followed by the joining of spicy, boozy notes of ginger, cinnamon, and amaretto, making it intense and sexy. It finishes with vanilla, caramel, and musk, creamy without being cloying. Everything is in great harmony, creating a unique and intoxicating scent. It works in any season: by day for the energy, by night for the mischief. Perfect for going out with friends, conquering, or dates; fun, energising, seductive, dangerous, and sensual. I don’t see it for the office or very formal occasions. The presentation is spectacular: a nice protective outer box, then a black box with the bottle well protected. It is heavy, cylindrical, and elegant. It comes with a booklet about a play on the inspiration. Longevity exceeds seven hours; it keeps you in a warm, fruity bubble and leaves a trail. If you are looking for something fun, sexy, and with conquering power, this is suitable.

The Revenge of the Peach is a splendid name. It smells like Beatrix Kiddo: beautiful but ready for full-on revenge and violence. I agree that real peach isn’t here; guava does the dirty work. Overwhelmingly sweet and sharp, it stings with maximum fructose and a supersweetened cream base, sidelining eighty per cent of the other notes. Concentrated and projecting far, I consider it impossible to wear; it’s so intense that it becomes tiring. In an office poll, no one found it delicious or sexy. Sarah, have mercy.

Chris Maurice, my favourite perfumer, delivers: a distinct fruitiness without being kitsch, playful and sweet without being cloying. The peach is strong at first, then the guava takes over (my only reference is Mercadona juice, sorry). The base is a classic musky vanilla, skin-close after six hours. It sticks to clothes like a champion. The box is very arty and quirky, complete with a stapled fanzine about the revenge of the peach; I love this kind of nonsense. The bottle is practical and substantial, though the atomiser could be improved. Hard to imagine anyone being put off; I think it’s a low-risk blind buy. Very well-behaved and wearable.
