Hundred Silent Ways by Nishane

The notes didn’t appeal to me initially, but on skin it’s a success. It opens with fresh fruit, tangerine and peach; as it dries, edible vanilla and floral notes, nothing invasive. Smells refined, floral-aldehydic. Works well in any weather, tested in spring without being overwhelming. Would definitely buy the bottle.

It’s not like Black Opium; they’re different. Nishane is fruity, easy, a cocktail of juicy fruits. I wouldn’t say it smells ‘sexy’, it’s enjoyable. Ideal for starting out in niche. Season: spring-summer (not heavy). Trail is regular, lasts 5 hours on dry skin, but it’s worth it.

It bears no resemblance to Black Opium at all. I don’t sense the coffee. It’s exquisite, feminine and sexy.

A great surprise. If I’d only looked at reviews, I’d have thought it was feminine, a serious mistake. On my skin it doesn’t smell feminine; nothing fits into a box like that. Try it on skin. Just avoid extreme heat. Otherwise, go for it. Excellent longevity and projection. Note: 9/10.

It gives a fresh vibe, though very basic, like clean talcum powder. It didn’t win me over at first, but it has grown on me with use. I agree the trail isn’t much, but sometimes I notice it when I turn my neck or run my hand over my wrist. I see it as unisex; I bought it because it resembled another (Borabora), and this one is more pleasant to me. It lasted a full day in 30-degree heat.

I understand that tastes in modern perfumery have changed, but this smells divinely. It is an elixir that must be beautiful on a woman’s skin. It surprises with its extreme subtlety: floral as expected, sweet and fruity, very well balanced and almost too good to be true. The floral part is evident, natural, persistent, elegant and sophisticated; it is one of the most sensual niches I have smelled in years. It melts with the skin and makes it unique. It is potent for the first two hours, ideal for a spectacular night out. The vanilla blends with sandalwood and vetiver, something unexpected, less syrupy and with earthy nuances, a warm and intoxicating mix. Perfect for gifting to someone important, and watch out… it is totally feminine.

Beautiful, lovely, yes. It’s a peach-vanilla syrup, honeyed with flowers, fine, delicate, sweet, divine. To my taste, it’s truly narcotic. In short, it’s a fragrance with which you need little else; it dresses you entirely. I’ve seen reviews comparing it to Black Opium and yes, it can have similarities, and if you like that, I doubt this wouldn’t go with you. Although obviously this is on another level. But now comes the tragic part: this has literally ZERO performance, sillage, projection, and longevity. For the price, if I want to smell it minimally for 3-4 hours, I have to bathe in it straight after leaving the house, and even then, not enough. I spray it on skin, clothes, leather, and apply high-lipid cream so it catches something; I let it macerate. Is my skin the problem? Perhaps. But even asking, they can’t smell it. I carry the 50ml bottle in my bag, which is large and heavy, just to enjoy it a little. It happens exactly the same with Ani, from the same house. Honestly, this doesn’t sit well with me; I think it should be a crime to have a tester that performs incredibly and then sell you this. I feel I must say it because the aroma is exquisite and elegant, but in this way, it’s a farce and a scam.

I was going to buy it without testing it, a gross mistake. I had the opportunity a month after spraying it and it was disappointing (thank god I didn’t buy it in my moment of consumerism). Perhaps I had too much faith due to the elevated price, but it lasted me a maximum of two hours. Its scent is like a supermarket cologne.

The most androgynous perfume I have ever smelled; at no point would you say if it is feminine or masculine. It has personality and smells extremely well, besides it carries nothing strange, it is totally friendly both for your nose and for others. As for the unisex (or non-binary, I know) issue, it is impossible not to think of Calvin Klein’s One. They are not alike, but unlike that one, which is extremely flat, the Nishane one is full of nuances that, without being extroverted, give it a lot of personality. A perfume that touches perfection, fulfils everything, blind buy totally viable and 100% recommended, enjoy it.

It comes out quite floral, markedly feminine at the beginning. Exquisite aroma, fine, elegant and intense in its initial phase. It starts with marked jasmine, alongside a not fresh but rather sweet peach, with a soft woody base. After the initial phase, background notes like vanilla, vetiver and sandalwood become noticeable, which inclines the aroma towards unisex, really unisex. The first hour gave me a bit of shame to use it, but its evolution is very good, so I recommend using it by men without problem; it has a development that evolves towards the centre. Undoubtedly a springtime aroma, with very good trail, projection and longevity. From my perspective, it is a very good perfume worth it; Nishane always surprises us with their quality. For people over 28, for informal and semi-formal wear. Aroma 8/10, Trail 8.5/10, Longevity 9/10, Projection 8.5/10.

Probably the only one to say it, but it smells identical to Dior’s Hypnotic Poison: much more potent, rich and creamy. Vanilla takes the lead, accompanied by fine neroli and sandalwood. A friend gifted me 10ml and I’m heartbroken that it’s running out; I enjoyed it immensely. If it weren’t so expensive, I’d buy it without hesitation. Lasts over 12 hours, lingering on clothes for days (it even overpowered my next-day perfume). Kilometre-long trail, ideal for winter and autumn. Totally unisex. 10/10.

Although I still hold Mon Guerlain as my signature, I like to keep looking for other options in the same olfactive family, and this one from Nishane is ES-PEC-TA-CU-LAR. From the very first moment, it envelops you in femininity and sweetness; it’s very elegant and warm without being overwhelming or excessively gourmand. I adore it, despite the fact that on my skin it fades quickly. My husband says it’s still noticeable for quite some time, albeit at a short distance, but I can’t detect it after a couple of hours (or less)… what a shame. Edit (October 2022): With the arrival of autumn and temperatures below 20 degrees, I tried it again and not only does it have a greater sillage, but the longevity has multiplied; now it exceeds 6 hours on my skin. A marvel.

Hundred Silent Ways is the best of the white floral vanilla perfumes (neroli and jasmine dominant). At first, it’s potent with a fruity touch of peach that gradually subsides, with a slightly woody and creamy base. Honestly, on a woman it smells narcotic, addictive and very sensual. High-quality ingredients, subtle evolution and powerful performance. I see it as more feminine, but it’s becoming increasingly common for men. Better suited for cold weather, and its high price is compensated by its virtues. Worth trying. Note: 8/10.
