Caesars Man cannot deny the decade it was released in; it has many eighties characteristics. It is potent, green-herbal, floral, and very dry woody. It is quite pleasant and has good longevity; with two or three applications it lasts 10 hours or more, plus it has above-average sillage. It doesn’t feel modern, but if you like eighties aromatic ferns, it is an excellent choice. Fragrantica says it is very similar to Drakkar Noir, and it is true, but it has a plus: it is available at a very low price, around $25, compared to the current Drakkar which I have seen for nearly $90. Ideal for the office, family outings, and any time of year.

A colleague owns it and I tried it; it’s a rare and interesting fusion from the 80s and 90s, blending Drakkar, Aramis for Men, and touches of Davidoff Zino. It’s worth buying if still available, as it boasts projection and longevity well above average for modern perfumes.
The great Bofifa, one of the finest fragrance critics ever, a transgressive intellectual and a cheeky man of exquisite taste, now has his own cult following. He featured it in a YouTube top ten, and I’m hooked. Once again, I have no regrets in following his lead. This is a classic for those of us who long for our childhood. A fantastic, simple classic fougère, huge and charming, fresh and retro. Thank you, Bofifa; we miss you too, just as we miss our childhood.
