This is a very good fragrance, although expensive and hard to find, it’s worth it. It smells of intense, elegant amber, with a desire to smell it more. Then the flowers come out, followed by wood at the end. It seems inspired by Tom Ford’s Amber Absolute; the perfumer loved it so much that when it was discontinued, he made his own version, and in my opinion, improved upon it.

What doesn’t convince me about this house is the performance; being a niche and expensive brand, I expected more. It’s a shame because the fragrances are incredible. Of the whole line, Amber Absolutely is the only one with decent performance and a pleasant scent. If I had to choose one, it would be this; the rest are mediocre or disastrous.

I tried this perfume today and, to be honest, it’s not for me or what I expected. That said, it has quality and deserves a good rating, but I wouldn’t wear it myself. The amber smells medicinal and animalic; without reading the notes, I’d think it was amber, resins, spices, and lots of honey. Once I read the list, I recognised the notes, though the first impression was quite different. It has a barbershop and vintage perfume vibe; when I wore it, I thought of my dandy grandfather from when I was little. For me, it sits between Tauer’s Cœur du Désert and Dana’s Tabu. The performance is better than other fragrances from the brand, although not wonderful, which surprised me negatively, much like with Libre d’Orange. It’s not bad; it’s above average. I see it as more masculine, ideal for cool nights. Scent: 7, Longevity: 8, Projection: 6, Value for money: 5, Versatility: 6, Originality: 7, Overall: 7.5
