What is this, right? It’s a time bomb. Thanks to my spiritual advisor, Darkbeat, I took the plunge and bought a little 3ml bottle. So dense you’d want to spread it on toast. It’s sweet, ambered, animalic (reminded me a bit of Kouros) and super potent, just as I like them. Highly recommended. That said, don’t expect generic or popular scents; this is another world.
This perfume is a beast, elegant and from another dimension. An earthy, tarred fragrance with oud wood and an amber heart that captivates. It has left me speechless for being original and unconventional. It’s a dense, intense and opulent oil, almost like honey, with a naturalness that makes you cry with emotion. A 10 for Abdul Karim al Faransi. The opening is a bang of rough, hot earth, with a dirty woody base that leaves me ecstatic. Then, gradually, the amber sweetens a little, but without being cloying; it’s dirty, woody amber, almost mossy, as if stuck to the tree. A work of art. The longevity is on another level, more than 12 hours on skin with good projection. Due to its dark soul, it’s for cool climates and exclusively for night, not for the day if the sun is shining. I recommend it 100% to those looking for potent and characterful perfumes, the antithesis of the generic. If you dare, order a sample on the official website for a ridiculous price and you’ll see what you think of current designer perfumes.
What is this??? A time bomb. Thanks to my spiritual advisor (Darkbeat) I took the plunge and bought a little 3ml bottle. It’s so dense you’d want to spread it on toast. This perfume is superb, elegant and of incredible class. It’s an earthy, tarred fragrance with unmistakable woody reflections of oud and an amber heart that captivates. It has dazzled me for being original and outside current trends. It’s a hefty, intense and opulent oil, so dense it seems like honey, with a smell so natural that tears spring to your eyes. A 10 for Abdul Karim al Faransi. The opening is apothegmatic, a bang of rough, hot earth, with a dirty woody background that leaves me ecstatic. Then, gradually, it sweetens a little with the amber, which stays in the background, matting the earth and oud, but making it clear that it is the protagonist. It’s not sweet or cloying amber, very fashionable these days; NO, it’s dirty, woody amber, almost mossy, close to the earth and in contact with the tree trunk. Incredibly natural, dark and with lots of character. A work of art. The longevity is from another planet, more than 12 hours on skin with good projection, extraordinary performance. Due to its intense and dark soul, it’s for cool or fresh climates and exclusively for night, I don’t think it’s a good option for the day, especially if the sun is pressing down, although this is subjective. I love it and recommend it 100% to those who like intense and potent perfumes, the antithesis of generic perfumery. For the brave who dare, on the official website you can buy a sample for an irrisory price. When you try it, you’ll tell me what you think of today’s designer perfumes and their prices.
Hello, fellow enthusiasts, important notice: this perfume underwent a reformulation in 2018 that left it half of what it once was. I bought a sample in August 2017 and left the review below; I loved it, it’s a madness, potent, intense, intoxicating, earthy, dirty, with a raw, natural amber, a work of art. Before buying the bottle, I used the sample (0.2ml) more than five times and it barely dented, with a mere touch you can smell all day. As it wouldn’t go down, I bought a 3ml bottle and my joy turned to a pit, it was out of stock. I spoke to Abdul Karim and he said to wait a month for maceration. On 21 January they told me it was ready, I bought the bottle and samples. The next day, checking the catalogue, I saw they had made a new formulation to improve it and I was scared, because I liked it just as it was. I wrote to Abdul and he said not to worry, it was the same perfume, just improved with a floral touch. I was reassured if he said so… Today it arrived, it has the same name but it’s not fair, it’s not Amber Ash-Sheikh, it could be a flanker, but it’s not what I smelled. It’s noticeable in the background but it’s not my perfume. They added floral notes, saffron and spices that are superfluous. It still lasts but without that potency, a work of art has been ruined. The opening smells like the original but diluted with saffron that I don’t like, then herbal notes like grass where a hundred cows have passed, it smells like a stable, very faecal. Before they were balanced and almost unnoticeable, now they are prominent. Drying down after an hour or two, the original aroma returns but weak and restrained, a pity, it was an exotic beauty from the East. I wrote to Abdul with my annoyance and was totally frank, I don’t know if it will happen, but he thanked me for the honesty and said he would wait for news from other users to decide whether to return to the previous formula or stay with the new one. I just say: if you buy it now, you’ll find half of what I described before. I’m doing this to warn you and so it doesn’t happen to you like it did to me, I almost cried smelling what arrived. I hope this rambling serves someone. Good Monday night.
Look, it’s been five years since I last wrote anything like this. Darkbeat or anyone who knows their stuff: have they sorted out the 2018 mess, or has the beast gone to pot? ‘^^
