  THE COCONUT CAKE: I arrived with high hopes because I adore whipped cream and talcum powder blends, like in Ferragamo’s Signorina, and wanted something similar. But this smells only of whipped cream—a very soft coconut barely noticeable against the skin. There’s no trace of talcum or cotton flower, just that creamy touch reminiscent of Katy Perry’s Mad Love but much muddier. It has no projection whatsoever. I suppose I’d use it as a base to mix with others, or not at all, because it would be completely overpowered; it’s far too subtle. If I’d heard it in a shop, I wouldn’t have bought it.

  I’ve given it a second chance and now I smell it differently. Yes, it has that coconut vibe of Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc, but in the heat, I notice more clean talcum powder, like Petit et Mamans, over a soft Dove soap scent. It smells wonderful for summer; I’m glad to have it.
