  • This perfume is superb, elegant, and of an incredible class; a earthy, tar-like fragrance with unmistakable woody oud reflections and an amber heart that is utterly enchanting. This scent has completely captivated me with its originality and how it stands apart from current trends. It is a powerful, intense, and opulent oil that leaves no doubt about its quality, so dense it feels like honey. A 10 for Anthony Marmin. The opening is apothegmatic—a sudden ‘zap’ of rough, saffron-spiced, warm earth, backed by a dirty woody dry-down that leaves me ecstatic; the naturalness of the notes is incredible, beyond words. Gradually, it sweetens just a touch due to the amber and a very subtle floral note; the amber lingers in the background, nuancing the earth and oud, but clearly remaining the protagonist. It is not that sweet, cloying, and excessively sugary amber so fashionable these days; NO. It is dirty, woody, almost mossy amber, close to the earth and touching the tree trunk, incredibly natural, dark, and full of character. A work of art. The longevity is from another planet, easily over 12 hours, with good projection for an oil and extraordinary performance. Given its intense and dark soul, it is suited for cold or fresh climates and exclusively for the evening; I do not think it is a good option for the day, especially when the sun is strong, though this is subjective. I love it and recommend it 100% to those who enjoy intense, powerful perfumes with marked character, the antithesis of today’s generic perfumery.
