  I’ve been hunting for a perfume that smells like milk for a while now, haha! I’ve tried several excellent ones that have become my favourites and I think I’ve finally found the definitive one, but I’ll share that later… for now, it’s Au Lait. I have an oil sample and I must confess that at first, I didn’t like it due to that ‘oily’ scent; this has happened with other indie oil perfumes, though never with any Al-Rehab. Fortunately, that smell fades and the magic begins: an intensely creamy milk scent with sugar, almost buttery. As with others, there’s a noticeable difference depending on where I apply it; my favourite spot is the wrist, where it smells of milk, vanilla and sugar, something caramelised; on the elbow, it’s more intense and slightly acidic, but nothing unpleasant. Of everything I’ve tried, Au Lait is the one that comes closest to representing the actual smell of milk; it doesn’t smell synthetic at all, the aroma is very real. It’s rather a personal perfume, it doesn’t project much and doesn’t last long on the skin, but it’s addictive, comforting and I find it brilliant for before bed, especially in winter.
